I have a little RP concept that I would love some help with: two people and their fated meeting on a dance floor. More on that below, but first a little about me and what I’m looking for. I’m a high casual to low advanced writer (just being honest with myself here, high casual about sums it up, but I’m learning), so I would like to be able to build the story with someone of similar ability. That being said, I’m a pretty relaxed person (as reflected throughout the rest of this post), so basically as long as you are willing to help move the story along and won’t post single sentence or lesser thought-out posts, I’m sure we’ll get along just fine. I typically play M characters, but have played F before, albeit a long time ago. For this pairing, I’d be looking to play MxF, but if you make a convincing argument for another pairing, I will hear you out. I find it just as easy to play in PMs as on forum posts, so we can figure out what works best between the two of us. I am on regularly during the day, EST, but tend to only post around lunchtime or after work based on the length of the response when I RP. Also, I feel contractually obligated to say 18+, because I’m too old to be having private conversations with non-adults over the internet (sorry, it’s just weird.)

As for the plot, I have two that are both slice-of-life sort of stories (but again, make a convincing argument, I’m here for the telling of stories, mostly regardless of what they are) :

1) The dance hall
Now, I’m probably one of the few people who have done this, but there’s a swing dance night in my town every Friday (or, ya know, used to be). If you find it too old-fashioned, I could consider a club setting, but I like the niche start that a swing dance night brings. At any rate, the story would start on such a night, with our characters having their first dance together toward the end of the night. The chemistry draws their interest about each other, but the night ends without much else happening. A slice-of-life montage of the characters going about their week with the other person lingering in the back of their own minds pulls them back to the dance hall the next week. Will their chemistry on the dance floor transition to a relationship, or will they get cold feet and be unable to turn this cute meet into a love story for the ages?

2) Wedding reception
We all know wedding receptions are dance traps of epic proportions. Everyone has an aunt who tries to get all the siblings and cousins of the bride and groom to dance. This is the story of a relative of the bride falling for a relative of the groom on the dance floor, the mad search to talk to each other again, and the fight to build a relationship based on very little knowledge of the other person. (Admittedly, this one is less dance-centric on the face of it, but the concept came to mind as I was writing the first one and I thought it was worth exploring.)

If you have any thoughts or would like to try one of these out, post or PM me. As I said, I’m on regularly throughout the day, depending on how work is going, so I check for responses regularly.

P.S. While looking over this in preview mode, it has come to my attention that I have put a lot of text into parentheses. I do not do this when I write usually, so I'm not sure how this happened. I'm leaving them in, though, because I do not currently feel like editing.
