The most deadly conflict in human history, the One Year War, has come to a close. The conflict between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon resulted in the death of 5.9 billion people, more than half the total population of humanity. Both sides would commit atrocities, making some of the worst horrors of war. While at times during the war the two sides would seem to be matched, in the final months the Earth Federation would win several decisive battles, including that of Operation Star One. This final push on Zeon would result in the death of the ruling Zabi family and the capture of Side 3. The very next day a treaty was signed, Zeon surrendering to the Earth Federation and disbanding its military.
The news of the treaty would quickly reach all corners of the Earth and nearby space. The remaining Zeon forces were ordered to disband and hand all military equipment over to the Federation forces. While some units would comply, several members of Zeon’s military would refuse. Those in space would hide on the dark side of the Moon, or even flee to the barely settled frontier of Mars. However, for those Zeon forces left on Earth, they would have a much harder time as they were actively hunted by the Federation.
One such unit was the Steel Sharks. Based out of Egypt currently, the unit had been formed to help with Zeon’s battle in Northern Africa. However they had been receiving less and less support from the homeland, the last package of goods including a few new mobile suits. Hearing about Zeon’s surrender over the Federation media, the Steel Sharks are having a hard time accepting that the war is over. Having sacrificed so much, they decide to keep fighting. But a single unit could not hold out long against the entire Federation army, so they’ll need to find allies, and fast.
