Little Morgana, shakily tried to get up and walk to her Dad. Her small legs wouldn't let her move herself freely. Her tiny body trembling, she was hurt by the foes of her land. She had left her home, not letting know her Dad where she was going and because she had been quite reckless as to not search safety when that had been the clear instructions her Father had given her, now as she hadn't listen when she should have listened to her Dad, her most precious and beloved Father, now the small one was on her own. Injured by the war weapons that detonated around the Enchanted Forest. Her aubrun long hair was a total mess, her pristine white robes tainted with dust, soil and ash, her golden accessories, also tainted and absent of color, the young girl sniffled in pain as she was trying very hard to go where she knew her Father was.

"Dad... Abba... I am coming... I am sorry for everything I have done..."

And then she fell with a thud face first on the ground. Her energy had drained finally, there was no ounce of strength in her. Only one wish in her mind.

See her Father one last time and tell him just how sorry she was.

The forest had grown quiet in the ugliest of ways. There was heavy stillness that came with death, followed thunder and fire.

Alaric walked through the aftermath, wrapped in a weathered cloak the color of deep moss. He carried a long staff rested in one hand, its carved wood scarred by years of travel. He had been moving through the forest since the first distant echoes of the detonations. Listening. Watching.

With the sound of explosions becoming even more distant he roamed more easily until he heard a faint voice carried through the trees.

“Dad… Abba…”

He froze. A moment later,he moved quickly toward the sound, pushing aside hanging branches until he stepped into a small clearing and saw her. The little girl lay face down in the dirt, her white robes stained with ash and soil, her auburn hair tangled around her shoulders.

The man’s breath caught. “By the old gods…”

He dropped to one knee beside her immediately and gently turned her onto her back. One hand brushed dirt away from her face while the other checked her breathing. She was alive but barely.

“Easy now, little one,” he muttered softly. “You’re not alone.”

He removed his cloak and wrapped it around her small body and lifted her carefully into his arms.

“I will take you to the village,” he said quietly, beginning to walk through the forest.

“I am sure there is someone there who can help.”

Morgana trembled sightly, weakened to the point where she couldn't move her limbs. Feeling absolutely overwhelmed by the immense pain that she felt in her small body. She didn't have any strength left.

"Dad said not to go into the war... I didn't listen to him and this... Is what happened. I am supposed to listen to him without questioning him, but today I realized something. Maybe I needed to see if I could stop whoever was declaring war to my land."

She explained with her small voice, tired and shaking. She loved her Father that was for certain, she respect him and all. It had been just her reckless choice today to not listen to him at the first order. Something that was very rarely on her, naturally she was quite obedient.

"Dad... Abba, he isn't going to be happy at me today. I am deeply... Sorry." Her honest repentance was palpable, no theatrics, no childish excuses, just one repentant child who made a terriblebmistake.

Kaelen adjusted his hold slightly so the girl rested securely against his chest. Her words spilled out with worry and fear, and Kaelne listened without interrupting, carrying her slowing as they moved between the trees.

When she finished, he looked down at her, his expression softening beneath his hood.

“Trying to stop a war is a difficult thing,” he said quietly, “Even for kings.”

The ranger stepped over a fallen branch and continued along the narrow forest path, choosing the safest ground by instinct. Somewhere ahead, he knew, there would be a stream and a sheltered patch where he could tend to her wounds.

“Your father told you to stay away because he wished to keep you safe,” Kaelen went on, his voice calm and steady.

He glanced down again at the young girl, making sure she remained conscious, making sure she was safe. As he walked he wondered how the girl had gotten so deep into the woods without being noticed, without being hurt. He counced her up again, against his chest and hurried towards the stream.
