The unloading of a refugee ship that made it past the British blockade

TL;DR Summary:
- Hatikvah, 'The Hope' is an old Zionist song that became the national anthem of Israel. (Interesting historical bit; Bergen-Belsen survivors singing it right after being liberated by British forces in 1945.)
- Late 1947 in what is now Israel
- The British are pulling out and war looms between Jewish settlers and the Palestinian Arabs. The Jews are not expected to win -- the Arabs have way more military equipment and the British, officially at least, are neutral-to-Arab leaning.
- The characters are a man and a woman (this role is for the woman) who both have their own histories in WWII, each their own survival story. I would prefer the female character have spent time as a partisan in the East, either Russian, Polish or other before making the aliyah (return/ascension) to the Holy Land. That gives her some experience and bad-ass factor/admiration among the Jewish settlers that have been there longer.
- Keeping with the Zionist spirit of the time, characters are probably not -that- religious -- Zionism was almost a secular-socialist movement.
- The characters will be part of the same Kibbutz, a fortified communal farming settlement of sorts, and we'll work out the social situation from there. Soap opera is cool. ;)
- Advanced Standards. I want a development partner to brainstorm with.

In Character Info:
Even though the world is weary of war, and Jews have seen more horror than most in the last war, there are refugees all over Europe that want to get out of there even if it means a fight. Meanwhile, in Mandatory Palestine, run by a British Empire that is reluctant to invest over a hundred thousand troops to keep the peace, the Jewish government, the Yishuv, is trying to bring these refugees in, to bring about the long-cherished Zionist dream of a homeland for Jews, but the British are supporting the Arabs and stopping emigration. The Jews in the camps, assisted by the Aliyah Bet, the covert intelligence agency devoted to smuggling as many Jews out of the refugee camps and into the Holy Land as possible, see it as their escape from the ghosts that haunt Europe, a chance to make things anew. The Yishuv knows that it needs those people -- it needs farmers, laborers, soldiers to build their new homeland.

It is a struggle to get past the British, a cat and mouse game of smuggling, forged documents and subterfuge, but even that battle pales in comparison to the fight that awaits in Palestine, where the Haj Amin al-Husseini and others gin up their people against the settlers, threatening to push the Jews into the sea, while King Farouk of Egypt sees a chance to divert his country's attention from its own problems to an external enemy...with the advice of former Nazis in the shadows. Meanwhile, other Arab states see it as a necessity to destroy Israel, perhaps fearing the social consequences of the Jewish proposal to uplift Palestinian Arabs as partners in a new nation, though some Jews preach the same sort of racial warfare that their enemies advocate.

The bottom line is a fragile community, lacking everything but the spirit to fight that knows it is about to be attacked by better armed, more numerous forces from all sides. But what these enemies don't have is nowhere else to go.

Out of Character Info:
I tried to give that IC description a neutral treatment. Beyond the politics and the overall picture, this RP is about two people in the middle of that setting, and how they deal with the first attacks through a larger war. Flashbacks are a necessity as well -- what the characters did and how that unfolds, what shaped them. The ideal partner likes history.
