A blush overtook Sahara's face as the newly awakened Dallas addressed her before anyone else. Her eyes dropped to the ground. She was most certainly not worthy of being the first in this room full of what she assumed to be his friends, and particularly his mother. She muttered a response that would be unintelligible even to the most acute ears. After the amount of time that ha passed since their last interaction, she'd been worried that he wouldn't remember her name to begin with.

He surprised her again by by hugging his worrying mother. The Dallas she'd known rarely showed affection, and had always hinted to having, at best, a strained relationship with his mother. She watched out of her periphery vision, still unwilling to look up completely. After that, he confirmed her theory that at least one of those present was a stranger, which actually made her feel a little better about being there in the first place.

A loud popping noise from some place outside the hospital sounded, nearly shocking the young woman out of her seat. She ducked her head and covered her ears, fully expecting the glass behind her to shatter in from the impact of whatever had exploded out there. What was happening? Had a bomb been set off? Did a gas line explode? There were plenty of things that could make such a loud noise, and none of them were good.

Her mind went immediately to her mother, currently at work somewhere in the middle of town. Her survival instinct told her to stay put. Unless the town was actually under attack, the hospital was probably the safest place to be. That was one of several reasons why she questioned the judgement of Dallas, who was now trying to get out of bed. She swallowed her nerves, stood, and took a step towards his bed. "D-Dallas, you really should stay in bed until the d-doctors can check on you," She said urgently, all in one breath.
