SCENE!! (I do this every once in a while in case we need to jump around). It is currently Monday! It is a beautiful April day. The forecast is sunny with a chance of some clouds. Eve and Berrett are currently on their way to lunch. Andy and Evette are currently at lunch.

As the bell rung Eve glanced up at the clock surprised. Fourth period had gone by so fast as she sat in her seat daydreaming. She had missed literally everything Mr. Epperson was talking about and she silently cursed herself for being so stupid. Now she was likely to not understand a thing he talked about the next day. She made a quick mental note to actually pay attention and check the power point on dropbox.. She glanced down at her empty paper that was titled 'notes' and frowned. She closed her binder and stuffed it into her backpack. She glanced around the room quickly. All four rows of desks were nearly empty of students already. She grabbed her iPod and put it on shuffle. Stuffing the ear buds into her ears. A smile spread across her face as the noise of everything faded away and the sound of Fall Out Boy invaded her ears. She was surprised that she was even smiling considering the events that had transpired the previous weekend. Guilt immediately laced through her at that thought. She still couldn't believe that she had been so stupid. She had let her one and only friend drag her to a party and then precede to get drunk. Her cheeks went pink as she walked through the door and out to the hallway. She had done a very stupid thing that night with a boy that hadn't even messaged her since then. In fact, this morning she had smiled at him, but he just ignored her. It hurt and she had immediately regretted her reckless decision to sleep with him. She could still remember everything despite the fact that she was drunk at the time. It was probably because that had been her first time and a woman always remembered their first time. She could still remember the way he held her. She had felt so comfortable in his arms. She had felt safe...She was slammed out of her daydream as she bumped into someone. She took out her headphones and began to apologize when she saw who it was. "So--". The word never made it out of her mouth. She blushed a fiery red as she stared into his eyes. She gulped, "Sorry...I...I wasn't looking." She gulped.
Andrew stared at the woman across from him. She was telling a story about something, but he wasn't paying attention to what she was saying. His heart was about ready to beat out of his chest. He could hear that along with the noise from the restaurant they were in. Everyone else's conversations met his ears in a blur. They were incoherent noises he didn't want to decipher. His palms sweated as he shakily took another bite of his burger. He could feel the bulge of the ring box in his pocket and he could imagine the way she would look at him when he finally worked up the courage to ask her. What facial expression would dawn on her beautiful face? Would she be overjoyed? Or would a look come across her face that would make him regret finding a little braveness in him? He hadn't been close with anyone in the past couple of years. His wife's death had cut him deeply and he threw himself into his work. It had been the only thing that allowed him to turn off his own emotions and focus on another's. But then he met Evette and he fell in love. She was beautiful in every way and he captivated his heart. He didn't tell Barrett for fear that he would retaliate against Andy being in a relationship with another woman. He just felt that it was time to move on from the pain in the past. He had to look forward or he might go crazy. The world came back into focus as their waiter walked by and picked up their empty plates. Had they really already eaten all of their food? He could have sworn that he had just taken the first bite of his burger. He gulped. He glanced up at Evette and touched the ring box in his pocket. He took it out and set it on his leg. He gulped again. "Evette. I've wanted to ask you something for a while now...uhm...this isn't the most romantic of places and I'm sorry for that. But..." He sighed, "You are everything to me. One of the only people that have the ability to light up my darkness. I love you..." He got down to one knee with the ring box in hand. As he opened it he stuttered out the words, "Would you do the honor of becoming my wife?"

Barrett's P.O.V.

Giddy chatter fills the room, along with the sound of pencils etching notes onto paper. Nobody’s writing anything interesting, at least, not if they’re scribbling down what they just heard. As long as you know Andrew Jackson was a president during the industrial revolution, everything else should be common sense! Of course there was a population increase in urban areas, where else would the factory workers live? My fingers tighten around a pen, stopping it from drumming against my desk. Could the day get any more un-eventful?

“Hey, how did things go with that girl?”

A loud, attention seeking voice reaches my ears. I turn around, placing my arm on Aaron’s desk, an old friend from elementary.

“From last week? How do you think it went?” My lips tug to the right with satisfaction.

His blue eyes widen, and he gapes. He leans in toward me, as though he’s a child being told a bed time story. Though, I don’t know any parents who read about one night stands. That would make for an odd dynamic.

“Hahaha, how was it?” He lowers his voice, making sure no one hears out conversation, especially girls.

“Why would I tell you that?”

Really, why the hell do people like hearing about their friends’ sex lives? Does it give them a sense of self-fulfillment? Maybe he’s trying to make up for what he lacks. Last week was a disaster though, he didn’t miss much. I was drunk off my ass and did something stupid... with one of my father’s associate’s daughters. It’s the idiot’s fault for bringing home a ring. Dad could have talked to me instead of hiding the fact that he’s getting married to a woman I’ve never heard of or met. What is he thinking? What else would I expect; he doesn’t talk to me. His own son isn’t part of his personal life.

“-rrett? Earth to Barrett! You okay? I’ve never seen you space out like that.”

Now I’m thinking to myself the way those angsty teens from young adult books do, “When does this class end?”

“Ah, I’m a little worried if you can’t read clocks,” Aaron chuckles before looking up.

I follow his gaze before mumbling, “Went by faster than I thought.”

The minute hand has to move a few more inches for the bell to ring.

“Well, at least you can you can read clocks again.”

A grin spreads across my face as I peer at him, “Shut up, it wasn’t hard for you to look up.”

My body falls against the chair with a thud. It’s almost time for lunch. My gaze slides to the right, someone is watching me. It’s a girl, pink flashes across her cheeks before she turns away. I smile, hoping to give off a welcoming aura. We have a few classes together. I was looking for her last week but ran into Genevieve instead, the daughter of my dad’s financial adviser. Their hair is the same shade of brown, but they have different cuts. They looked the same when I reached out, I couldn’t tell the difference after a few drinks.

However, her eyes are brown, if I had seen Genevieve’s eyes first, nothing would have happened, but I saw her hair. She doesn’t have brown eyes. Blue orbs flashed before me as I leaned in for a kiss, it took a few seconds for that to register, and by the time I noticed, she had already reciprocated. At that moment, I realized we both had too many beers, but didn’t care. I was mad. No, I’m still mad, and now another mess had been added to my plate. I saw her this morning, and she smiled. How stupid, she couldn’t have been that happy, right?

Did she even realize what we were doing last week, during the act; she knows now. She isn’t the type of girl who would be happy losing her virginity while drunk, but not many would. Does she even know who I am? Most of all… I wonder if she remembers what I said afterwards.

A blaring noise blares from the intercom system. It’s time for lunch; everyone will find it odd if I’m sulking.

I jump up before glancing across the room, “Aaron, Ricardo, I’m going to my locker! I’ll meet up with you guys in a bit.”

My “friends” look up for a moment before shrugging.

“Eh? Why do you need to go to your locker? Whatever, we’ll see you later!” Ricardo shouts from across the room.

He tilts his dark head of hair to the side before shrugging. Several students look up, curious. I shrug, the way Ricardo does, before chuckling.

“I need to see a teacher during my free period.”

Nobody seems phased by this, it seems normal. My hands wrap around an old laptop case, which I use to carry papers, before I sling it around my shoulder. The halls are busy and loud. I tense for a moment, as something vibrates against my leg. Someone must have texted me. It’s Ricardo, he’ll be fine without me texting him back. I wonder if anyone else has contacted me. I scroll through my texts and freeze, ‘Genevieve.’ Three texts are from her. Well, this is a fun situation to be caught in. She must have noticed my last name by now.

Well, this needs to be taken care o- Uh, someone ran into me! Crap, were they not looking in front of them? Okay, let’s see who it is. Maybe it’s a scared freshman. My eyes wander down before widening. This has to be a joke. Giant blue eyes meet my gaze, Genevieve…
I hope this piece turned out all right! I usually don't post the same day I write. Also, I can't send PMs right now, or post to the OOC, it's weird. Anyway, I hope I can write a convincing guy XD

Genevieve
Embarrassment was the only thing I knew in those moments. OF course the world would find it a funny joke to make me bump into him. Couldn't it have been someone else? Maybe someone that actually liked me? Nope. Instead I bumped into someone that only feels indifference towards me. I gulp once more, knowing I've done this more than three times in the past minute. What else was I supposed to say? He just stared at me as if I were some pesky child.

Maybe to him I am a pesky child. A stupid little girl that gave away her innocence just because she was a little tipsy. Okay. Maybe tipsy isn't the word. Maybe drunk off my ass is a better phrase for such a thing. How could I have been so careless?

10 seconds pass by and he is still staring down at me. Was I really counting the seconds? I guess I should fully realize my idiocy and then embrace it. Its probably never going to go away.

I briefly wonder if this reaction towards him is normal. I had read somewhere once that a woman is severely attached to the person that takes her virginity. It was an online article so I likely shouldn't trust it that much. But at least it is a reason as to why I'm acting so odd.I need a reason to attach to my behavior otherwise I'm just another odd person. This is exactly why I stray away from social situations.
This is an embarrassing little tiny post. I'm sorry. This is mostly how I'm going to write. If I write to much its forced and when its forced its awful. :/
