Shepard is going to be doing her thing with the Normandy crew elsewhere. The closest relationship with the Unity and the Normandy will probably be something like the Unity getting sent in to help clean up after one of Shepard's operations.

I'm seeing the crew doing big things, just not the pivotal Mass Effect 3 storyline-related things (like killing Kai Leng, evacuating the Krogan female, etc).

The Unity will be evacuating colonists (and holding off the Reapers while they do so), offering assistance to pinned-down squadrons, delivering important intel, emergency medical transport, etc. They'll be doing important things but they won't be making forging alliances between the species like Shepard was.

Also, we won't be choosing which color to shoot in the end, heh.

That end was sooooo dissapointing (not terrible, but Shepard deserved something way more epic). I was so angry with it that in my second playthrough, I tried to shoot that kid, without knowing what it will trigger. And my ending was even waaaay more disapointing....

Not just because the Mass Effect community was almost unanimously dissatisfied with it, but because people complained enough for them to actually release new content in reaction to it.

Name: Tavis-Dev 'Cannonball'
Appearance: Tavis stands at 3foot and is considered tall for a Volus. He lacks a lot of the fat that most Volus' have while still seeming a small bit fat because of his races natural pyshique. His protective armour is mostly black with varous red strips. It has various scars and chips decorating it and is more reinforced than the average Volus' armour.
Race: Volus
Age: (The Volus don't have an official age range, so i've made is similar to the Human lifespan) 34
Biotic ability: Tavis knows how to use two bionic powers. These are the ability to summon offensive orbs to surround him and the biotic charge. He is fairly knowledged with these two powers but has no knowledge of any others and is in no way an expert at biotics.
Biography:

Tavis was born on his races home planet of, Irune. His parents were rich, Biotics whose family trees were bathed in tradition. Practically every descendant of the family had to be a biotic, it was only by chance that the two Volus' families had very similar traditions. They raised Tavis to be something he wasn't. A biotic. They did teach him a few things, but he only retained two of the things they taught him. He was more interested in guns and fighting with your hands rather than your mind. Every time that he was taken to the Citadel he begged his parents to let him use the shooting range. Eventually they gave in during his teen years. He spent practically every credit he received at that range, practicing day in and day out on his shooting skills. He was a prodigy with a shotgun and was rather adept with sniper rifles and pistols too.

He eventually left his home planet to live on the Citadel in his early 20s, much to the disappointment of his parents. He told them that he had joined C-sec, what he was actually doing was a bit more devious. He had actually attempted to join C-sec, but they informed him he wasn't experienced enough and hadn't actually had any formal training. After that, he floated from place to place, doing odd jobs. That is until he met a Volus much alike himself. The Volus met Tavis in a pub on some backwater planet that nothing could grow on. The Volus informed him that he was part of a sort of mercenary group that did various jobs for various corporations and whatnot and had asked Tavis if he was a mercenary himself. Tavis saw an opportunity here and lied about actually being a mercenary. He was accepted into the mercenary group, but not without testing. It turns out that one of the higher ups in the group used to be in C-sec along with the citadel fleet. He tested and trained Tavis to be the best he could. Soon enough he was out doing missions for the group and earning a steady wage. That is, until they were attacked by someone they were contracted to kill. The contract sent various other mercenary groups after Tavis and the group. They destroyed their base and killed most of the members. Only leaving Tavis and the retired C-sec officer to have a brutal firefight with them. The C-sec officer knew that they were fighting a losing fight and decided to give his life for Tavis' because of their respective ages. He blinded the enemies before charging them with a rifle as Tavis escaped out of the back entrance.

Tavis grew a small bit of fame after that. He became known for surviving the bloodbath and escaping. Soon enough various other mercenary group approached him with jobs. He began to drift from group to group, taking money from whomever paid highest. He acquired the nickname 'Cannonball' for his small stature and hard hitting results. His life changed when the Reapers attacked though. Specifically when they attacked his home planet. They slaughtered his parents and left him contemplating life. Soon enough, he heard about 'Project Unity' and its efforts in the war. He applied as soon as he could and gave up his life of mercantile work.

Personality: Tavis is different from most Volus'. Instead of being arrogant and headstrong he usually doubts a lot of his abilities but will try to succeed with them anyway. The only thing that can really get him angry is when people make fun of his height and say it makes him less useful as a team member. He likes to joke around quite a lot even during missions if they aren't too serious. He isn't at all reserved about his past and would practically tell you everything about his life if you asked. He has a strange liking for Human country music, he's never known why but he just loves the music.
Position: Combat Speciliast. Tavis is a soldier to say the least. He gets in to the battle, gets to the frontline and obliterates his enemy with his use of biotics and his weaponry. He is expertly skilled with his shotgun and also knows how to use his pistols and sniper rifle.

I'm going to put the information about Shepard in the first post, thank you all for reminding me.

And just so you guys know, when we start it'll be like a week after Palaven was hit by the Reapers. I'll update the current timeframe now and then in relation to either what Shepard is doing or which planets have been attacked.

EDIT: Actually, what do you guys think? Do you want a paragon Shep or renegade?

I kind of want renegade so he can look like a dick and we can look like the cool white knights but I feel if he were an actual person he'd be a paragon.

Well... I would prefer Shepard to be more renegade not a typical Mary sue like hero.

I agree. Mary Sues annoy me.

I kind of agree with Mr_Pink. I'd like a renegade because Shepard would realistically have to look like a bad guy now and then since he/she winds up making tough decisions a lot. Can't please everyone. The Unity, however, is just trying to help out (until we write something in that makes us look bad).

Besides, this is war, and although I often don't have the heart to hit renegade options in the game I think in real life Shepard would. Maybe our Shepard will be a mix of both, leaning a little toward the Renegade side?
