A nervous expression was held on the young woman’s face as she scanned the room in search of a place to sit after exiting the line for her food. Although for the last few months she was involved in the Sierra Project, Tia was nothing more than aid during that time and knew very little of the happenings that occurred at Headquarters. However when she was given the request to come to the seminar a few days prior, she knew that her job as the lowly lab tech was about to change and as she looked around the room at the type of people present, she could see that her speculations were correct. The first things she spotted was that she was nearly, if not actually, the youngest person in the room. Not only was she at a disadvantaged due to her age, from the snippets of conversations she could get from those she passed by as she made her way towards an empty table she could tell that she was in a room filled with highly qualified people. Military personals, scientists, FBI agents and the like were there and with those type of people in the room, she wondered what the reasoning behind why she was there. Although she was quickly learning about the Project, she didn’t know far enough to be of use in giving a speech or be of use there. Taking a seat, Tia took great care in taking in the situation around her as she tried to piece together what was happening. Deep in her thoughts, she barely noticed a man join her at the table.

“Hey kid, don’t be falling asleep on me now.” The man said giving a rough pat on Tia’s back, showing none of the nervous demeanor that the woman had. Jolting out of her thoughts, she turned her attention towards the man with a look of surprise on her face. It was obvious that she was unsure of what the man might have said while her mind wandered with a face filled with laughter, the man spoke reassuringly towards the girl. “Hey, don’t worry. You won’t be dismissed for sleeping on the job, you haven’t missed anything yet. But seriously, it’s nearly noon. What kept you up for so long last night which is causing you to be so out of it today?”

“Oh wait, you have it all wrong. I wasn’t spacing out or anything.” Tia said with a worried look as she tried to clear her the misconception the man had about her. “I-I was just thinking and trying to figure out what all this was about.” Tia said with a slight nod towards the rest of the room.

“Ah yes, I was a little surprised when I was given a notice to come here about three weeks ago. I’m interested in seeing what is going to take. But anyways, I feel like introductions should be made especially if we’re going to be working together. The name is Marcus.”

“Tia, Tia Dale.” The young woman said with an outstretched hand so that the two could shake hands.

Arriving quite early compared to the rest of the people now in the room, Kris took his time watching and observing those who entered the room. Although there was quite a variety of talented people in the room, it appeared that each of them was similar in one way, a talent of some sort. From what he gathered so far he knew that the TSP, as the Sierra Project dubbed for themselves for short, he knew that they were being brought together to form a team of some sort. However of what type of team they were to form was still a question to him as he tried to figure out the type of people that were entering the room.

With a sigh, Kris took the glass of water that was in front of him and as it was at each table, Kris took the pitcher of water and poured himself a glass. With the line for food still quite busy, Kris was quite content waiting at the tables for the line to die down as it seemed unnecessary to wait in a crowed line for the same food he would receive comfortably waiting at the table With the line nearly diminished, Kris made his way to grab his food and as he returned to his table he saw that a few people had joined him.

Giving a slight nod towards the others Kris sat down in his spot, glad that they didn’t take it from him.
