Clearly unable to soothe him, Elliot sat up and started to shake him, "Jacob. Jacob, wake up!"

She prayed as she tried to shake him awake that he would indeed wake up. She hated to see him like this. He always seemed so helpless and frightened. She bit her lip, "Jake!"

Jacob bolted forward, he held his head. He was breathing fast, his body was shaking. He took a shaky breath, wiping the sweat from his face. He felt more vunerable than he has in years. He took a shaky breath, his shoulders were still shaking.

"Hey, hey," Elliot said, looking at the shaking Jacob, "It's okay."

She brushed his hair out of his face and kissed his forehead, "Come on, lie back down," She helped him lay back and snuggled close to him, her arm draped across his torso, "It was just a nightmare," She kissed his cheek, "what... what was it?"

"The day I lost you," his voice cracked with every word he said. He took shaky breaths, it had been a long time since that nightmare came into his head. He wasn't sure if he would be able to get out of this war and be the same guy he was three years ago.

Elliot bit her lip, she was still haunted by that memory. Not to long ago, she had a complete breakdown when she remembered it. She leaned forward and kissed Jacob. She gave him a small smile, "Well, I'm here now. You got me back. You saved me."

She placed her hand on his cheek and ran her thumb over it, "It's alright now. We are alright now... Right?"

Jacob nodded, he calmed a bit more. Knowing that Elliot isn't going to leave his side, and with her hand on his cheek. He leaned his head into her touch, knowing it calmed him down. His breathing finally evened itself out. He didn't fall back asleep, knowing the nightmare still lingered in his mind.

Elliot smiled when Jacob calmed. She knew that he wouldn't be managing to get to sleep for sometime. She gave him another kiss before lying next to him. She took his arm and wrapped it around her, allowing her to get closer to him. She put her arm back around him and relaxed. Whenever she had a nightmare, Jacob would just hold her and that was all she wanted. Just to be held by him. They'd lie there for hours sometime. Jacob never really told her if he felt the same after his own nightmares but she liked to think he did and curled up with him. She looked at him and smiled, "Better?"

Jacob nodded, "yah I'm feeling better now." He kept his arm around her, as he turned onto his side to look at her. Tucking a strand on her hair behind her ear, Jacob took in the sight of Elliot putting everything about her into memory.

Elliot smiled as Jacob turned to face her and tucked her hair behind her ear. She moved closer to him still and kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck. When she pulled back, she grinned at him, "I'm happy. I hate seeing you like that. I'm glad that I can make you feel better."

She kissed his cheek before resting her head on his pillow. She moved her hand to his cheek again, "I'm also glad that you aren't constantly in pain anymore."

Jacob smiled, "I am glad about that myself though I rather be walking for hours and hours, but this will have to do me lying next to you in bed." He touched her cheek with the back of his hand. While the other went around her waist, bringing Elliot closer to him.

Elliot laughed as Jacob pulled her closer, getting rid of the last of the space between them. She looked at him, "So, I'm just a consolation prize, am I?" She teased.

She relaxed into him and kissed him, placing a hand on his neck. She pulled away from him and giggled, "I'm having an awfully hard time being mad at you, you know..."

Jacob could only laugh, "your no prize to me your the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. Not being mad at me is always good too, no one will ever replace you Ellie." He put his forehead against hers, "and you will always be the only one for me."

Elliot looked at him through her eyelashes as he placed his forehead against hers. She smiled at him and took hold of his hand, "And you for me. So long as we live. Which is why I'm suppose to be mad at you for nearly getting yourself killed."

She laughed a little and closed her eyes, relaxing entirely with him. With the world as gloomy as it was these days there were few things that could comfort her anymore. Jacob had always managed to be one, "I love you."

Jacob closed his eyes, "I love you to Ellie nothing will ever change that." He kept his arm around her, while the other slid up her back just before he close the distance between them and kissed her. His hand that was sliding up her back went into her hair.

Elliot leaned into the leaned as his hand in her hair pulled her into it deeper. She smiled as her hands found his shirt and balled it into her fists. After a few minutes, her hands moved to slide under his shirt. She ran her hands over his chest and back as they kissed passionately.

Jacob soon broke the kiss to catch his breath, he was breathing hard as he tried to catch his breath from the kiss. He felt her hands move over his chest, he smiled a bit as he pressed his forehead against hers. "Alright now I'm wondering, how many times have you imagined having a family together?"

Elliot's hands stopped on his chest when he asked her about how often she imagined having a family with him. She thought about it for a moment, "Not a lot... It never crossed my mind before we started going out... I guess I only started thinking awhile into our relationship when I... um... had a bit of a scare," She blushed, she hadn't told Jacob about that. She ran her fingers across his chest, "Then I entertained the idea... when things got bad... and a little more when things got good," She laughed a little, "So, a few times, I suppose.... why? Are you entertaining the thought?"

Jacob shrugged, "I was just asking really ok what about this what was the thing you most imagined about?" He was wondering that, of course he was. With how little he knew on what she had imagined around him. He kept his head against hers.

Elliot laughed and shrugged, "I don't know.... I guess.... Just kissing because that would have been something I imagined before we were even going out... I am positive that I never imagined having to nurse you back to health... All the time," She teased.

She smiled at him and rubbed her nose against his for a moment, "Why do you have all of these questions all of the sudden?"

Jacob shrugged, "I guess it helps me relax a bit more it always happened with me and my brother we used to throw questions back and forth. We ended up putting everything we said into a question it was always funny. Because some of the football guys would look at us funny while we talked with questions we knew what we were talking about while other people looke at us weird."
