Adventure and Fight scenes

The most fun I've ever had in any RP were ones involving a sort of vague adventure with loosely defined goals, with most of our time taken up by constantly escalating fight scenes. I know that's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I know you're out there.

Who wants to go explode things around the world?

An adventure of constantly escalating fight scenes, a vague story, and goals that are as mercurial as I am? Sure, why not. I'll give it a whirl

Whoa. Glad to see replies.

Optimist, I'd "GM" insofar as I might keep things moving in a general direction, but the idea is that there isn't much world building ahead of time. Improv comedy is a good way to think of this - there's a premise to start with, the participants add to it without contradicting anything. Roll with the punches, so to speak - literally and figuratively.

Not to say our characters can't be complex and possess actual motivation. But. You know. Whatever.

I'm gonna shoot for 1 more participants (assuming you two are still in - excuse my absence) before making a real thread, but start thinking up...stuff.

I'll send out a PM if/when I create the actual OOC thread. It can work with as little as three people (considering I don't believe in such things as character limits) but in my experience, four is the minimum of an effective 'loose-track' story.

Side-note: would anyone like to be our designated villain? If not, I'll take that role, but I like to offer it up.

Hmm... Designated villain seems a bit too much for my new-to-forums self, but. I certainly wouldn't mind making the occasional minor villain/side character

I agree with Phoenix. I would not mind playing occasional villains, but not the main villain.

Perhaps we could reach some middle ground and tag team/have some sort of villainous enterprise, eh optimist? Rather than a single villainous figure a steadily strengthening confederation of baddies? But the single manor villain route is always a highly satisfying end...

So, my original assumption was that this would be standard medieval fantasy, but I actually don't know what the GM or anybody else had in mind.

It was what I assumed, though I am game for anything with a lot of fighting. All my one-on-ones are love stories, so I have a lot of aggression to let out.

If you are a villainous mastermind, i still want to be a henchman sometimes.

What's a villain without underlings? As soon as I know what kind of world we're doing, and whether the mighty GM would accept me as your not-so-humble villain, I'll PM you and anyone else who wants to be minor villains and we can hash out at least a vague idea of their connection and motive.
