Email I got after signing the petition said During the Nintendo Digital Event on Tuesday, after an epic battle between Satoru Iwata (president of Nintendo) and Reggie Fils-Aime (president and COO of Nintendo of America) themselves, the fight soon turned into a smash battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, between their own Mii characters. Mii Fighters will be playable in the upcoming Smash Bros. games!

This means that anyone - including Reggie - can finally join the fight! Mii Fighters can either be brawlers, swordfighters, or gunners, giving them different special moves. Those moves can be customised even further to make Mii characters feel unique. Masahiro Sakurai, the games' director, said that while he didn't think Mii characters were suited for Brawl, he decided to make them playable in the upcoming games because he gets a lot of requests for new playable characters, such as Reggie. He says that his Twitter account was flooded with 'add Reggie' requests, and with Mii Fighters as playable characters, he's giving us a tool to play as the Regginator.

The petition even got Reggie and Mr Sakurai's attention, and we got what we asked for: a playable Reggie in Smash. However, this means that he won't have the "My Body is Ready Slam" as his Final Smash like some of us wanted him to, and he won't talk in his voice, or say any of his famous quotes such as "my body is ready".

Could Nintendo distribute Reggie's Mii (by amiibo or DLC) as a playable character with custom sound effects, so he could still talk in his iconic voice and tell us that his body is ready for battle? Possibly, but that's something you'll have to ask Mr Sakurai about. Use the hashtag #ReggieForSmashBros!

Well, they confirmed Miis, which basically means any character you can create in Mii maker has been "confirmed for Smash Bros", by that logic. I might as well be saying that Vash the Stampede and William Hartnell will be in it. Not exactly the same.
