We're all dead IRL. We can't leave because we're literal ghosts in the machine. When you die in game, it's actually your 'soul' getting wiped.

That is a joke suggestion. Unless you don't want it to be.

...I'll try to think up something to solve the magic dilemma...

I want to suggest a kind of perk/feat system similar to the Elder Scrolls or Fallout, but I have no idea how I'd manage that so I suppose I won't be doing it.

They are some of the most popular games of this generation! They're what turned me from a casual gamer to a I-have-no-life gamer. (Especially after I lost my save on Skyrim... Oh god the memories.)

SO...

Fixed base stats like in FO or increasable-at-level-up ones?

EDIT: Or hell, should we even HAVE levels?

lol I;m sorry, ehh I don't think we should do levels. That just makes things complicated, it's hard to determine when you level up on a RPG anyway

How did you even manage to get into SAO? Like, not to sound really mean. BUT HOW?!

Well it isn't exactly hard to get into an anime. Jargon aside, SAO isn't even that complex.

I find it really hard, SAO wasn't complex to any stretch of the imagination, in fact I thought it was horrible, though the idea was good. I've only been able to fully complete about five anime in total.

I'm really into the fantasy of putting on a helmet and you're in some virtual world. If that was in real life, I'd be a complete gamer. But I don't like staring at a screen and fighting. I don't know, I'm strange. XD

Edit- Oh I love anime lol XD Everyone has their interests though

Well, that's not all gaming is. I play strategy games by Paradox, and they are a hell of a lot better then any RPG I've ever seen.

I've always liked the Civ games. According to some people I know, the Total War series is pretty good when it comes to RTS games.

I'm mostly an RPG/Sandbox person, though. There's just something about sundering your foes personally, that keep me in it.

So I (sort of) figured out a way to balance magic without micromanaging MP. Basically I was thinking that, since we're going for a magitek-ish setting, all magic would be needing tools like staves and shit. Except the tool you use to cast doesn't have to be a staff, it could be anything that's able to be equipped in the user's arm/hand slot, like gloves, rings, or something of that ilk. Maybe even the foot/leg slot if you wanna be all kung fu wizard. It's like how archers need their bows and warriors need their swords, thus mages would need their focuses (foci?).

Each focus would be geared towards a specific scope of magic. For example, some kind of elemental focus has to be geared to either firing off fire spells, or cooling off drinks with ice magic, not both. There isn't exactly a limit on how many focuses a mage can own, but there's probably gonna be an output limit. Meaning you'd have to keep improving your damage dealer like all the others.

Thoughts? Yay/Nay?

Also, alternate player races. I recall someone wanted those. What should we do about it?

EDIT: I just realized I never got your opinion on how leveling should work, Hollywood. Shall it be Fallout-style (permanent stats, increase skills at level +), Elder Scrolls-style (increase skills with use, alter stats at level +), a combo of both with leveling (increase skills w/ use, perm. stats, only HP/MP increase at level +), or no leveling at all (exactly like the previous, but with no level + bonuses).
