Space survivors - who will make it? Intrest check

Hi guys, so yeah... i thought it would be pretty cool if I ran an RP where the adhering characters (such as ourselves) were trapped in space due to an unfortunate accident. We will play as the sole survivors of the space wreckage and will have to battle against the odds to get home. On the way we shall encounter very real and dangerous problems, not to mention the ones we didnt think existed.

So basically, i will play a lead astronaut on a mission (not yet decided). You guys, will play whoever you like. As long as they were on the same ship as myself working as something or perhaps another experienced astronaut. All of the people who decide to be a part of the rp will be the lucky ones who happened to be close to myself at the time of the crash, managing to get into suits and an escape pod before impact. As a team, we will guide each other and the less experienced of the survivors on the journey back home. Im thinking maybe its set in 2020 and im thinking that I will open it up to 5 other people not including myself.

Huh, sounds a little like Lost in Space or Pitch Black (sorry, first two movies to come to mind for me.)

I'm in. Though I have some questions: is it an AU or real world universe? By which, I mean, are we considering technology (and thus space travel) to be as it is currently or more advanced? (To help me figure out a character concept of course.) I'm assuming current universe and technology/space travel because you said astronaut, but I wanna just double check.

I might be interested, though I have 2 questions.

1. It's really just how the OP is worded, but are you going to be playing some kind of main/lead character? As in more of a main/lead then the rest? Cause if so I wouldn't want to join an RP that put one character on higher importance than others in a narrative perspective.

2. What level Casual? Low-Casual where it's just one Paragraph? Mid-Casual where it's 2-3, or high Casual which is basically Advanced?

I'm interested, but I'd like to second a few of the questions. Bard's question, regarding the level of technology. I've got a really cool character concept I'd love to try out, and this could be an ideal spot for it. Provided that the technology level is fairly high. If not, though, I'm sure I could come up with another character!

Also, seconding Magnum's question about what level of Casual this'll be.

1. more of a gravity was the original concept, however i'll add certain elements of sci-fi into it
2. in terms of technology, we are talking similar technology to today, but slightly more advanced. Not seriously... but a good 5-10 years worth of electronics and equipment, perhaps with a slightly more advanced apparel available.
3. When I said lead, I merely meant that was my character job. He worked as a lead on the mission. To be honest, I will just rp normally. My characters job is just to guide and move the story along with plot posts and intervene every now and again.
4. I was thinking anywhere between 1 and 3 paragraphs. I dont like to judge people's writing ability or style. As long as its enough for us to tell and play a good story, im not too fussed. So 1 good paragraph minimum, but apart from that the sky is the limit.
5. I said 5.... but if you want, all 7 of you are in.

Yeah, my concept doesn't really mesh with the straight up astronaut theme. Sorry, but I don't think I would have fun making a character that fits the RP. Someone else is free to have my slot.

I have to admit the same, the detailed setting is looking to be close to modern times for any concepts I have to really work or stick well. :/
