Rina always loved climbing. As a child growing up in the snowy mountains, climbing was an essential part of her survival. Even though her foster mother, Glaciel, was a caring parent, she was also a staunch believer of off-hands parenting. So when Rina was able to walk on her own, Glaciel began a tough training regimen to enable her to survive the snowy wasteland on her own. It took a long time before the dragon would even allow Rina to scale down their mountain home to hunt for food but to the brunette, it was worth the wait. Still, she never would have imagined that years later, she would be leaving her cave and Glaciel all behind to explore the world. She missed her mother dearly but the excitement of discovering new lands was enough to keep her away.
Rina shook away thoughts of her mother as she pulled herself up onto one more tree branch. She kept low, testing the branch's sturdiness before rising up and pushing away the leaves above her. Light shone through, blinding her momentarily. She blinked away the tiny little lights behind her eyes until her vision cleared, allowing her to see the vast forest surrounding her like a green ocean. The sight took Rina's breath away and she wished she could soak up more of the landscape, but her mission always came first.
Covering the sun's rays by cupping one hand over her eyes, Rina scanned the sea of trees. Nothing to her right, nothing to her left. She turned around and still saw nothing. Letting out a frustrated sigh, Rina turned back to her previous position when something suddenly caught her eye. She squinted a bit, trying to really get the details out of what she was inspecting. It looked like trees from this height, but upon closer examination Rina could catch hints of gray and brown underneath the green. And the green itself didn't look like leaves, but moss. Grinning to herself, Rina ducked down beneath the leaves again and jumped off the tree branch. She expertly jumped from branch to branch until she was certain she wouldn't fall to her death. On the last branch, she kicked off and jumped, landing next to a shaggy, blond-haired guy.
"Found the temple, it's just over yonder." She announced enthusiastically, pointing to the direction that she had been looking at moments ago, "We should get going before someone else finds it."
