[IC] XMen: The Past We Never Knew (XxLyraxX & Jasonhero)

Azure clasped Gaara's hand tightly as they stumbled through the heavy rain that was pouring down. It made for difficultly in navigating the land. The girl struggled to see through the rain falling in her eyes, hoping they could find a place to wait this storm out. She vaguely made out a dark hole in front of them and she tugged on Gaara's hand, pointing at it.

Gaara looked at the girl gripping his hand, whenever she tugged on his hand and pointed at the cave, he looked iver at her. "Let me check it out first." He says softly and closes his left eye. He put his hand over his eye and the cork in the top of his gourd popped out, some of the sand leaking out and forming an eyeball. Which then floated inside the cave, so Gaara could look around. He didn't see anything or anybody, it was clear. The sand dissapted and returned to his gourd, pulling the cork back in the top of the gourd. "Its clear " He said as pulled the girl inside the cave. Unkown to Gaara, there people within the cave, one of them just happened to be telepathic and played a trick on the boy.

Azure followed behind him, relieved when they stepped into cave and out of the rain. However, she soon began to shiver as the warmth seeped from her body and cold sank into her bones. She wrapped her arms around her trembling form, her autumn colored hair plastered to her head and sticking to her face.

Gaara wrapped both his arms around the girl. Hoping that he could warm the girl up. Gaara hated seeing the girl like this. He was very protective over the girl that showed him what it was to truly be alive. Then Gaara heard the footsteps of other people. Almost instantly the sand formed a thick a wall bewteen the others and Azure. Gaara stood on the side with the others. A loose array of people, one if which sat in a floating chair and was bald. "You're not sentinels, who the hell are you." Gaara demands, even as he glares at the group. The one in the floating chair moves forward. "We are mutants like you. I apologize for deceiving your senses earlier, I had to ensure you weren't a sentinel. Its different to see youngsters like yourselves these days. Come further in, we can't have you freezing to death out here, and we need to close the door." He says. Something about this man told Gaara that he could be trusted, and the sand wall fell, all going back into his gourd. Gaara once again took Azure's hand. Leading her into the cave after the group of people.

Azure flinched when she heard footsteps and watched as Gaara formed a sand wall just as a group of people appeared from further back in the cave. She watched as they conversed then followed after Gaara as he began walking into the cave. She looked around nervously as she pressed against the boy, seeking comfort.

Gaara felt Azure press herself closer to him, and let go of her hand. Opting instead to put hid arm around her to confort her. She was probably a little bit scared, she was always slightly more shy than he was in this world.

Azure wrapped both of her arms around his waist, pressing close and burying her face against his chest as they walked.

Gaara held the girl as they entered a maskeshift bunker in the cave. With cots set up and supplies in boxes, everything ready to moved onto the large ship sitting at the other end of the room in a heartbeat. The sound of a door closing echoed behind them. Then the two new ones were introduced to each of the group.

Azure nearly jumped a foot into the air as the door closed behind them and she pressed closer to Gaara. When they were introduced she waved shyly at them all.

"Azure. They won't hurt you. Trust me." He said quietly to her and kissed her forehead. One of the men, who was rather built said that he was going to go out to scavenge for parts, and that the two newbies should go with him since they knew the area. Or at least one of them. Gaara looked up. "I'll go. I will leave it to Azure whether or not she goes. My name is Gaara by the way." He says. (They are talking to Wolverine)

Azure looked at Gaara and stepped closer to him. "I want to go with you." She said softly.

"You don't have too. I don't want you getting sick." He says to girl as he looks down into her eyes. Though he knew if she was determined to go, he was going to lose this arguement. Asure had a way with making him agree with her (Gaara called it cheating but she thought otherwise)

Azure pouted slightly, not liking the idea of being parted with him. She knew that if he trusted these people she could too but...it terrified her that if he left without her it could be the last time she saw him again.

When Gaara saw the girl start to pout he knew that he had lost this arguement. "Look, come with me if you want. I was just a little over worried about you." He says softly.

Azure frowned lightly up at him. "And you think I wont be worried about you if I stay here?" She said as she took his hand stubbornly. She was coming and that was that.

Gaara rolled his eyes at the girl, she stood by her word, he would give her that. Eith that being said they set out with the man who was introduced as Logan. Gaara looked at him. "How did all of you sruvive this time? Did you ever know what the world was like without the war?" He askes, curious

Azure padded silently besides Gaara, ears perked as she waited curiously for Wolverines answer.

"We just kept moving bub. And yes, the past was a better place. We weren't being hunted ti extinction like we are today." He says as they keep moving. Gaara points out a hill to thier right. "That one has a large amount of materials in it." He says

Azure looked up at Wolverine, eyes wide. Such a world used to exist? She glanced over at the hill. It was once she and Gaara had been too and he was right, it did indeed have lots of materials

As they went up towards the pile of objects, a low rumbling was heard in the distance, soon the large rectangular object that was the sentinel carrier was seen looming towards them. Slowly the doors opened anf large amounts of sentinels began dropping. Gaara spun towards Azure. "Get away! They'll kill you!" He said and spun back towards the threat. The next thing he knew, he was flyin through the air and slammed into a rock. His sand shield had been too slow.
