She drove up to the mansion, with the new mutant in the backseat, knocked almost unconscious. She looked into her rearview mirror then at the doors of the mansion and they burst open and Logan and Scott ran out first, followed by Professor X wheeling his way out as well. Flora got out of the vehicle and hollered for them to be careful with him as they carried him inside to the infirmary. Flora stood by Professor X and looked down at him briefly then backed up to the small commotion.

"Is he going to be okay?" She asked him softly as they entered the mansion. Flora closed the door behind them then followed Professor X to the infirmary. "Stay here. I'll need to run my tests on him." Professor X pleaded towards her as she nodded her head, looking at Scott as he was leaving. "What happened to the lad?" Logan came out asking, folding his broad arms over his muscular chest. "I don't know. It was all a blur to be honest." She tried to remain calm but started pacing back and forth.

Logan grabbed her by the shoulders and looked at her in the eyes. "It's going to be okay. Xavier saved many mutants with his tests, or tried to at least." Logan chuckled while walking away from her now as Professor X exited the infirmary now. "He is going to be find. Just a few broken bones and concussion." He stated as she lowered her head. "I'll get Stitch in here and fix that." She nodded her head as he wheeled off.

Flora entered the infirmary as the doors hissed opened then closed with the same effect. She looked at the man and he looked quite lovely. It wasn't even ten minutes past and Stitch walked in. She jumped slightly with a gasp then looked down at the man while talking to Stitch. "Can you fix him?" She asked. Stitch scoffed then curled his fingers so that they will pop. "Let this answer your question." He ran his hands over the broken bones and they were reconstructing themselves inside of him. It was a very painful procedure but he would feel a lot better when it was over. "Now, I can't do anything about that concussion but recommend so rest." He said as he left the infirmary as well.

She nodded her head then pulled up a chair beside the bed where the man laid. Flora wasn't going to leave his side until he wakes up and finds out who this man is. But he probably more questions for her then she did for him.

Max's whole body hurt. He slowly sat up. His back screamed in pain and his head felt like it was in a vice. "Damn it." He groaned in a raspy voice slowly opening his eyes.

He heard a small gasp next to him. He swung his head around to see who was beside him. His eyes popped open in both surprise and
pain. His neck felt like it was full of needles. As his eyes adjusted the girl sitting beside him came into focus. The sight of her sent his memories flooding back to him. He remembered his mission, why he was there and why he was in so much pain.

It had started when he was only twelve. That is when his mutant ability manifested itself. He was able to teleport. When it first happened it was purely by accident. He was watching a scary movie with his parents in the living room. A particularly frightening scene came on and in his terror Max teleported back to his room. His parents didn't know what happened when Max came running out of his room.

They took him to several doctors until one doctor recognized the mutant gene in young Max. His parents were horrified by the diagnosis. They took Max home and had a long discussion about what to do with him. They ended up sending him to an orphanage for mutants. They feared both for their safety and of his. They knew the world was cruel and they couldn't be there to always protect him. It was a selfish decision, according to Max, but the right decision, according to his parents. Max learned very quickly that normal people feared and hated mutants. He was thankful that he at least appeared "normal" enough. As months passed without anyone being adopted, Max's hatred for the world and people increased.

When Max turned fourteen there was an attack on the orphanage in the form of a bomb. To this day no one knows what really happened, but it is believed to have been caused by anti-mutant activists. Thankfully for Max, a few members of The Brotherhood were there to save a few of the children. In The Brotherhood Max flourished. His mild dislike of humans was nurtured into a full on hatred for them.

By the time Max was twenty-four he was a fully fledged member of The Brotherhood an jumped at the chance to help them take down the human loving X-Men. The Brotherhood had developed a small implant that when placed at the base of the brain, would hide someone's thoughts from telepaths. With that technology, The Brotherhood felt they could get a mole within the X-Men. Now all they had to do was set it up so that the X-Men would accept their new member.

An anti-mutant rally was the perfect cover. Have a mutant get violent at an anti-mutant rally, that an X-Man would surely be at, then have that mutant get "rescued". Once inside the X-Mansion, that mole would be able to learn all they could and report back to The Brotherhood. Max made the perfect mole. His ability to teleport back and forth would allow him to leave the Mansion and report back without having to be gone from the Mansion for too long and raise suspicion.

Now with his full memory and purpose clear, Max was ready to take the X-Men down from the inside.

"Where am I?" Max pretended.

As if on cue, Professor X rolled into the room. "You are in the Xavier's Home For Gifted Youngsters." Xavier could sense that Max was nervous by his appearance, but couldn't totally sense his motives. "Right now, you just need rest. Your bones are mended, but you will no doubt be in pain for a few days. If you would like I can make sure you have no mental damage."

"No!" Max exclaimed. Both Xavier and Flora gave him puzzled looks. "It's just, I don't want anyone in my head."

"Understood. I will respect your wishes." Xavier said rolling out of the room. He could tell something was a little off about Max, but thought it could just be his injuries. He would give Max a few days and then try and talk to him again.

"So." Max said looking at Flora extending his hand. "Name's Max." He would have to get to know everyone here as best he could to do The Brotherhood right. He knew he was up to the job.

"You're..." Flora started to say but Professor X wheeled into the room and spoke. He must've read his mind because it seemed like he can in at the right time. Flora jumped as the male raised his voice then looked down at the Professor. "Flora here will show you around." She looked back up at the male, who revealed his name as Max as she smiled a little. "Pleasure to meet you." She said softly.

Flora turned around and hoped that the male knew to follow behind her. "Well, that was the infirmary, of course. Over there is the Danger Room and it's where the upper level students and X-Men train to fight or get better control of their abilities." She then continued the tour. "Oh and in there is where the X-Jet is placed." She pointed to a steel door with a gigantic X on it. Flora looked back up at the male then wiggled her finger for him to continue following him.

She showed where almost everything was then took him outside to the garden. This was her favorite place to be - Hence her mutant alias, Flora and her mutation. She saw a dead flower then maneuvered her hand over it and it came back to being it bright and bubbly self. Flora smiled as she turned around and eyed Max. "So, what is your mutation?" She asked with a raised brow then bit her bottom lip nervously.

Max's eyes widened with astonishment. For as long as he had been with The Brotherhood, he had never seen any powers that weren't destructive. Yet, here he was, witnessing someone using their powers to, very simply put, give life. "That's, that's amazing." Max said pointing at the flower. He kept staring at it. As if it were some illusion that would disappear at any moment.

Flora's voice broke him out of the trance. He looked at her and felt oddly nervous. He hated feeling nervous. "My, my mutation?" He finally stammered looking away from her and standing up. Still in pain, but feeling a wave of machismo sweep over him, he pointed to the roof of the Mansion. Once he saw Flora's gaze fall on the roof he did his "routine". "And a one, and a two." He jokingly sing-songd before a crackle of energy ran across him.

In an instant he appeared on the top of the roof. He took a small bow and waved to Flora. He looked out over the landscape. The "yard" of the Mansion was massive. He was barley able to see where the driveway ended. He began to get a little worried. He was able to teleport far, but he was worried he wouldn't be able to teleport far enough to report back without having to be gone for too long. The meeting place was at a small paper warehouse about five miles away from the Mansion. He was to get there and he would find a small homing beacon inside. He was to activate it and someone from The Brotherhood would be there shortly to debrief him.

As Max thought about this, he realized he might have been on the roof for longer then necessary. Then, another crackle of energy and he was back standing next to her. "Ah, thank you." He said smirking. As he was about to say something else a twinge of pain ran up his whole spine. He knew he shouldn't have teleported that far while still recovering. Max tried to prevent the pain from showing on his face. "Well, I, um, need to talk to the professor. Hopefully I'll see you later." Max turned and hobbled back to the Mansion. The physical pain mixed with the nervousness he felt made Max beat himself up mentally all the way back to the professor's office.

Max approached the professor's office. He took a breath to ready himself. The implant had worked so far, but how long could it last? Before he could knock on the door he heard the professor's voice: "Come in." Max slowly opened the door. "Hello Max." Xavier said looking up from his book. "Have a seat." He pointed to a chair sitting across from his desk. "What can I do for you son?"

Now it was time, thought Max. The speech he had rehearsed a hundred times. He had done a some reading up on Xavier. From everything Max had read, Xavier seemed a father figure. So, Max had figured a heart to heart with him would put any doubts Xavier had about him to rest. Max began to tell Xavier about his childhood and how his parents abandoned him. How he was in an orphanage for mutants and never got adopted. He then twisted the truth about how the orphanage was bombed and how he lived on the streets up until Flora had found him. "That's why I hate humans so much." Max said looking down at the floor. "I want to belong I just have never trusted anyone. So, is there any way you could let me stay? Maybe help me out for a few days?"

"Now," Xavier started. "you don't have to fake any remorse with me. You have nowhere to go and we've given you good hospitality. I understand that. You don't have to pretend to like others or that you're going to join the X-Men and bring justice to the world." Max cursed to himself. It hadn't worked. He had failed. "But as long as this Mansion is standing, all mutants will have a home here. We're just going to keep you under watch for a few days, make sure there are no unknown injuries or anything else. You'll be staying in the men's dormitories. Please report to the infirmary tomorrow and please, make yourself comfortable." Xavier smiled as Max stood up to leave.

Xavier's hospitality has thrown Max for a loop. He went to say something, but thought it best to just go to the dorms and rest these injuries away. "And Max?" Xavier started. "She is a rather lovely girl. I would stay longer to get to know her better too." A huge grin appeared on Xavier's face. Max narrowed his eye and slammed the door as he left. "Ah, youth." Xavier sighed.
