It wasn't anything too awful, but Snape sees a younger version of himself in Kyle. Best friends with a Gryffindor but still going down the dangerous path of the Dark Arts.
Well that right there's the ideal future/ultimate dream :p
I think I'll settle for teaching, maybe university lecturing if I'm good enough for it (probably not). I went through a phase a couple months ago where I was like, "Oh, I should teach English abroad," but then I realised I can't speak any foreign languages.
You don't have to speak the language to teach English somewhere. I considered it for a while.
I got a short story published. I'm working on getting a novel published right now. Mireille and Charlotte are actually characters from that novel. They would totally be in Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff accordingly.
That's really cool! I'd like, die for one of my shorts to be published.
I was going to, but I have bucket loads of work to do and a dissertation to start writing. I might do a partial NaNoWriMo, or aim for like, 25,000 words of one of my fanfiction/original fiction plotbunnies.
I'm finding RP to be good practice at writing anyway. Only started recently. :D
I got rather lucky. My alma matter has a periodical that gets published internationally that I got into. The periodical is very avant garde and my story was a weird non-linear creative non-fiction piece that I wouldn't have wanted to publish through anything less modern.
That's a good goal.
Rping is one of my favorite ways to get to know a character. As you can tell from Kyle. I mean the whole reason I started this RP is because I wanted to understand him. He's a teacher for DADA in another RP and I wondered what changed from that childhood image I had of him in a family of Dark wizards.
Same theory with Charlotte and Mireille, they are interesting characters, but I'd like to understand them better in other situations. The same RP that Kyle is a professor in I have a set of twins in and they are characters from another story. When you put characters into situations that are out of your control it's easier to learn how they'd react. IE Kyle still daring to be Siobhan's friend despite obstacles in his way. That explains why he eventually became an Auror.
I know how Kyle will come up with the idea. He'll think about the hat's song. Snape should be fostering friendships between the houses. But he never has before. Kyle will have him in a weird catch 22 if he has a 'fight' with Siobhan.
