Hey guys,

I recently came up with the idea of reviving the Starship Commander frp for those who wish to settle certain things. Most Sci-fi universes (Varying from Halo - EVE Online - Star Trek) will be accepted plus this allows people to see which ship would come out on top. Of course, there will also be other dangers as well. Not only will your ship be pulled through, one of your enemies will be too (The Flood, Klingon, The Empire/Rebels, etc.) If this goes ahead, I may want another GM or two to help run this and keep the rp flowing.

So, who's interested???

Everyone wants the infinity XD I should also note you won't be able to have a ship that is already in use. You can have an Infinity class ship, but not THE Infinity or THE Enterprise. Plus you'd have to justify getting said ship so there can't be another Death Star XD

That is a space station not a space ship.

I'll be taking the Starcraft series.

For anyone interested but can't decide on a ship, here's a good list to look here.

I should also note ships like EVE's Titan's are not allowed as they have a Doomsday weapon which could probably screw over....everything. Plus it's tough to beat unless you can match or beat its Shields, Armour, etc.

Welcome one and all. I'm gonna leave this up for another week to see how many people I can get cause I think getting about 10 people will give us a good run for the frp.

I was just PMd that I have to use a variation of the ship. It will just be the same ship but a different name, I don't know what name yet, sorry I missed that rule.

All good, just thought I missed putting up that rule and I should also note that if I find something a little too OP, I will nerf it to point where I believe it will provide the best balance for the frp.

*cough*Infinityiskindaop* cough*

As a Battlestar was claimed I'd be more likely to take something Stargate or star wars related. Depends on what other people have as if everyone is powerful I'd go with something stronger naturally.

Also don't take that chart too seriously. I know for a fact quite a few of the Stargate ships are wrong.

Sep, I 100% agree with you about the chart, though I don't think it will be much on an issue unless there is a gross over-estimation/under-estimation of size or the size keeps changing during to course of the RP. I was in an RP once where someone had a ship that grew to 2500 m when he was attack so he could justify feasibly having 200 lasers on the thing while when he came under fire it was suddenly 250 m so it was harder to hit... he was in an imperial class star destroyer, which I have a hard time seeing at 1600 m like the chart says let alone 2500 m.

An ISD is 1.2km long. Star Wars ships I know, and Stargate :P

I know the ISD falls somewhere between 900-1200m, Though compared to the Tantive IV at the start of EP IV being just under a quarter of the length I have to wonder about the length. I doubt we'll know in a cannon sense simply because anything that could tell us from a cannon standpoint is no longer cannon including the incredible cross sections and the SW technical manuals.

I'd be happy with 1.2 though, it is a big ship

Nah the cross sections are still canon. The novels as in story novels are non-canon. Plus the SD at the start of ANH wasn't an Imperial IIRC. Besides if it was with the Tantine IV being several hundred metres long and fitting into the bay it makes sense.

Welcome, as I've said before, if I start noticing certain aspects of a ship are too OP, I will say to change your post or I will find something for them to convince them to nerf their item. *cough*EVE titan with Doomsday*cough*

The last time I checked, the only things still canon at this current time are the moves, clone wars animated series and the first novel released after the canon cut, with plans for other material to be reworked in at a later date.

As for the star destroyer not being an Imperial class, it's hard to tell because the one at the start of Ep IV and ones later in the trilogy share very similar profiles. Even so, the Tantive IV comes in at around 150m. so for that ship to fit in the hanger, that bay would have to be around 175 m to comfortably fit the Tantive IV the way it did in the movie. Now looking at models of the Imperial II class, which fits both the outward and underside profiles of the EP IV Star destroyer, we see that the Star destroyer around 6 hanger bays long, putting the length at 1050m. Now because we are guessing some measurements based on screen appearances. this number could go up to 1200m if the hanger is 200m long, or it could drop to 960m if the hanger is 160m long I personally feel 175 is a nice number for the hanger as it falls into the middle ground of both possibilities.
