Welcome to the Velvet Room...

You open your eyes. It appeared you were seated at a large, round table with many empty chairs around it. You were in a giant elevator surrounded by many deep shades of blue. Doors were scattered throughout the room. Some draped in a translucent blue veil. You look ahead at the male voice that addressed you. He was a balding old man dressed in a black suit and tie. His eyes were wild and his pupils were small. He is gazing at you, an amused smile on his face. His hands were folded under his nose. Standing next to him was a hauntingly beautiful young woman with shortly cropped silver hair. She had very creepy, yet somehow hypnotizing yellow eyes. She was dressed in an elevator attendent's outfit that was colored with the same blue that permeated this elevator-room. Her gaze was curious, and her smile one that you could compare to a small child in a candy store.


"My name is Igor. I am delighted to make your acquaintance."

He moved one hand out from under his nose and gestured to the young woman next to him.

"This is Elizabeth. She is a resident of this room, along with myself."

As if on cue, the woman spoke.


"Pleased to meet you."

The old man folded his hands under his nose again. He grinned.

Appearance



Blessed or perhaps cursed with soft, feminine features and waist length bleach grey hair, Hotaru's broad shoulders and stocky build make up for it. He stands just shy of 5"4" and is rarely seen without a cigarette behind one ear.

Personality
For the lack of a better term, Hotaru is lazy. He tends to put forward the least amount of effort possible and avoids more difficult work, preferring to do the light stuff. Nevertheless he is more than willing to get his hands dirty if there's something in it for him, or if it means that someone will owe him a favour. Naturally this changes completely when it's a woman doing the asking, at which point the normally calm and relaxed Hotaru devolves into a stuttering wreck, utterly at the mercy of his female overlords. Overall he tries to maintain his distance from others while still being a part of the group, striking a balance that means he is never completely open about himself to anyone.

History
The Furuya family is a large one, yet only two of it's six members are male. Hotaru grew up surrounded by his elder sisters, always treated differently, alternately picked and doted on over the years. His henpecked early life left scars on Hotaru that would remain thankfully unseen during his middle school days, when he was left in the company of his own sex at an all-boys school in Tokyo. It wasn't until he moved to Tatsumi Port Island to Gekkoukan High School that the true extent of his trauma became apparent. Unable to speak to women for fear of being beaten, unable to show them any goodwill for (the perhaps irrational) fear of being spoiled like a child, Hotaru retreated into himself, avoiding all contact with the fairer sex. For the first year of school he was mercifully safe in the care of his uncle who lived nearby, but when he entered his second year, circumstances changed and he was forced to move into the Iwatodai Dormitory.
As a co-ed dorm, it was not his first choice.

Yoromatsu comes off as a very cold and formal individual. However, when you get to know him, he becomes very loyal and protective. He stands to be trained to become CEO of the Kirijo Group, a fate he hopelessly resigns himself to. Yoromatsu is very dutiful, always sticking to his responsibilities and looking after his team.

Personality:
Ken'ichi's most notable trait is that he is a sore loser, he hates to lose and enjoys to win. While this is one of five things that gets him frustrated it is the worse and most frequent as he can't live winning everything he does. The boy is honest and humble but too prideful. The fact he will help someone with their problem no matter how small but won't ask for help from anyone. He is also quite stubborn and very apologetic. Sorry is almost his favourite word "Excuse me, sorry to bother you", or "Sorry to be a pest but", and his most favorite towards the ladies. "I apologize for disturbing you, have a nice day". Ken'ichi is also quite a clingy person as he does small clingy things that he doesn't even notice, such as walking with a person he just met, or getting attached to a girl.

History:
Ken'ichi or Ken, came from an alright family but still had to earn his own things regardless. His mother was always playing two rolls of a parent while his father hung out with Yakuza and mere street gang, trying to earn a reputation. Not only did it make Ken more independent, but it made him want a dream family, like the happy ones he saw on cartoons, a married family with well looked after kids. Growing up he always liked playing sport, something about kicking a ball, or swinging a kendo wooden blade, soothed his mind, he was a gifted athlete. As he grew older he would try and pursue a career as an athlete, he had physic, he had the confidence, but he was too easily distracted.

This year he had a chance to be captain of the Kendo team but due to his recent break up his mind is all over place. Not only this but doing naughty deliveries for the Yakuza also made things hard. Took up much of his time, though he still managed to keep playing sports even for half and hour. Right now his main focus is getting some friends, just to take his mind off things.

Standing at slightly above average height at 5'3" Masako is not the most imposing figure though with her pale blue eyes and usual expressionless facade some might say she is a bit wispy as if she was constantly fading in and out of our reality and that of somewhere else.

Personality:
Innocence, madness, freedom, spontaneity, inexperience, chaos, and creativity the small building blocks upon which life itself was built upon and of course a whole lot of luck. Masako herself was the embodiment of these ideas distilled into the form of a human being. Some might mistakenly put her off as nothing really special being a very quite and calm individual or maybe even a slacker that cares nothing for he academics or her future seemingly always sleeping in class and only getting High marks in her physical education classes and her history classes. Which while true would only be grasping at the thin outer surface of a human being. Inside her brain sparks jump across the chasms of thought at speeds that would be miraculous if not maybe explaining why she seemed so distant with a whole world operating within her head. Even in the most strenuous of situations she remains calm and tactfully be able to respond be it with a fist or by a quick turn of the body and an application of motion in the other direction. If one actually talked to her at a time she was not zoning out or sleeping they would a polite and friendly girl with the patience and understanding that would make the Buddha proud with the surprising ability to change course and adept to new situations with fluidity. Though due to her own condition growing up she has her own issues mostly around abandonment and how friends are pretty useless when in a year or two you were to be shipped off to a new town and a nice school.

History
Change was something that Masako had been accustomed to for a very long time. Having never known her mother who died when she was four years old in a tragic motor accident the only sort of parental figure she had was her father an international business consultants who would have to constantly uproot his young daughter from whatever friends she had made to go work for a new company somewhere else in the country or occasionally dropping her off alone with a suitcase and a tattered stuffed bear she still has at her grandparents houses as he had to go abroad. Due to never really having a clear definition of a parental figure she never really had a guiding influence as she grew up and as a result grew up independent taking in whatever traits she deemed appropriate and good from what she could learn from the outside world which would help explain her somewhat erratic personality at times. However the biggest influence in her life may be of course old martial arts movies. Her father was a big fan of them and when he would come home from a long day of work would sat down upon his favorite chair and turn on the television where the tales of heroics and violence would help him forget the long day. At his feet would be his young daughter for this would be how the two bounded and somehow forged a connection with one another with the girl finding new heroes, new ideals to strive for in the Wuxia heroes of old and the new gritter and flashy kung-fu masters of more modern cinema. It was only natural that she took up Karate, Akihito, Shaolin Wushu and eventually ended up finding her way most recently into the world of modern combat sports such as boxing her father providing her with the tutors and the materials necessary if not always present at least he never was a scrooge with his money when it came to his daughter's happiness. These lessons and these forms were what rooted her and one famous mantra had influenced the way she had progressed through her life from that point on "Be water, my friend." And it this point in her life comfortable in her position if a bit lost and unsure of where to turn next her father going away on another international trip for a year at the least had sent her off to Gekkoukan High School with relative ease for she could live there and the admission was already dealt with, her father having helped out the Kirijo Corporation almost ten years ago in the events after a large scale domestic incident. She did not know what to expect but what she did know was that it couldn't get any worse. Right?

Ah that would be a good question wouldn't it? Well how I'd imagine it if one was prone to be the imaginative sort was that business consultant being a fancy term for somebody that knows how to make problems go away like for example if the raging aspects of death were just released and deiced to destroy your research facility somebody with the right connections could make it so that any police investigations turn up little actual evidence and all end up getting closed after little actual police work. So your international corporate juggernaut does not collapse do to a "tragic accident." These kind of things happen a lot around the world and so that why her father is never home, for some other international juggernaut needs him to sweep something under the rug for them. But yeah so nothing major just making sure nothing got back to the Kirijo Group that would be harmful to their reputation.

Nope she would be completely clueless in the regard of what her father actually does. To her knowledge he is just some businessman that does boring businessman stuff like paperwork and budget meetings. The idea of him gallivanting across the world and doing black market deals and smashing heads together would be too ridiculous to imagine given his seemingly genial and lackadaisical personality. xD And should we be worried about your secret plot stuff? Like will it try to murder us? lol
