Jade nodded, helping to search the room for something of use. "I would expect so, or in a drawer maybe?" She started opening things, peeking inside and taking note of everything she saw, just in case. "Ah, this might be handy." Jade mumbled as she pulled open the knife drawer, inspecting the fine edges of their blades. "In case we need to cut something, like rope..." She shrugged, shuffling through some more drawers in search of matches or candles. "You guys find anything yet?" The gargoyle called out, head buried in one of the pantries.

Mocha searched the nearest cupboard, only finding a few dishes and such at first. The next one revealed a few dry foods. "Ah, yes. I'll check the drawers, too." She responded to Jade as she pulled open a few until she eventually did find a box of matches. "Not a candle, but these should be helpful for when I do find one...oh, here!" Reaching into the cupboard conveniently located right below the drawer she had just searched, the rabbit-eared girl triumphantly pulled out a few candles. "It looks like there are quite a few, so we should all take a couple. There's another box of matches, too...why wasn't it with the first one...?" It was likely inconsequential, maybe just a mistake or an organization plan she wasn't made aware of, but it did seem a bit silly to have them separate...ah, well.

"Wonderful." Jade clapped her hands together, stepping over to examine the candles and match boxes. "Let's split the candles up between us as even as possible in case we get separated." She did think it was strange to have separate places for matchboxes, so she catalogued it in her mind and pushed it aside for later. "Pick up on anything Zack?" Eyes scanning the room around them, Jade searched for anything out of the ordinary while awaiting the guy's answer.

Zack shook his head. "No I dont smell anything usual here. Did you guys find everything?" He dmiked when he saw that they had candles and matches. "Well now we'll be ready if the lights go out again."

Mocha shrugged. "Maybe what we're looking for is in another room. In any case, there are six...no, wait, here's another...seven candles here. We can each keep two and we'll still have one extra. Does anyone want it?" She handed two candles to each of the others before holding out the last one.

"Why don't you keep hold of it for us, you found them so you should get to keep the extra." Jade said, carefully tucking her two candles away. "If there's nothing left here, I guess the only thing left to do is pick a direction and start moving." She suggested, glancing around again to be sure she didn't forget anything they might need.

Do either of you know which direction the shot came from? It was kind of echo for me. We know it wasn't the dinning room or the kitchen. But this place has a lot of rooms so it could be almost anywhere. I guess we could sear h room by room until we find a clue." Zack suggested. He didn't really know how to go about this.

Mocha nodded to Jade and put the three candles away in her pocket. "I'll hold onto the matches for now, so both of you just let me know if you want to go anywhere on your own and I'll hand you a box." Once everything was squared away, she turned back to Zack. "I couldn't really tell at the time...I was kind of distracted. But maybe one of the rooms in the back of the house? I think most people would keep something like that away from the dining room so it wouldn't be too obvious where it was coming from. It could even be upstairs, for that matter..." She pondered the thought a bit, wondering if there was any way to narrow it down. The shot really could have come from anywhere, though, so maybe searching the rooms one by one would be better. "There could be clues in any room, however. It might be good to make sure that we're thorough."

"No clue." Jade stared off into space, replaying the memory of the event in her head. Reliving the moment like a dream she spoke her notes aloud, though her speech was much softer and slower than normal as if she were absent from her own body. "Lights first, dark... Pitch black. Slight draft, various smells. Shot: Loud but echoing..." Blinking herself back to reality, she offered her opinion on the matter. "Based off of what I can remember from the time of the event, I'm going to have to agree with Mocha. We should start with whatever rooms are farthest away from the Dining Room we were in, checking all others along the way. It could have come from the upstairs, though somewhere below the house is a possibility too. Houses like these often have special routes for working staff, so we'll have to keep an eye out for things like that too. If you see, hear or smell anything that strikes you as odd note it or share it. Could be important. Ready to head up?"

Okori walked around the Manor. He was amazed at how well the Manor was handled over the years. As he stopped to catch his breath, the lights went off. Startled he began to think. 'What could that had been, a blackout. Considering that this is an old manor, Blackouts should happen frequently, but that can't be it...' Okori couldn't finish his thoughts, when he suddenly heard a gunshot. His ears were perched up in the sky, listening closely to where the gunshot came from. He was currently in the second floor of the manor, so the gunshot must've come from somewhere near him. As the lights came back on he began to search the Manor's second floor.

Zack nodded. He lead the way out of the kitchen. He had no idea where he was going. He figured he would head as far from the dinning room as he could. He would try to smell for gun powder as they went. Hopefully eventually they would be able to find the room where the crime had been committed. The hall was longer than he thought it would be. He frowned and continued walking. Surely there would be an end eventually.

Okori began to smell a faint smell of blood. He covered his nose as he walked back down to the first floor. As he walked toward the others, he stopped in front of Zack. He looked at everyone else. "Hey guys, umm, remember that gun shot you guys might have heard right, well you better come take a look at this, there is a faint smell of blood in the second floor. If someone has a great sense of smell, then that would be useful." Okori couldn't believe he was asking for help, but it was the only way to make his miniature plan move forward.

Mocha nodded in reply to Jade before following Zack out of the room. She wasn't sure what kinds of odd things to be looking for, but surely even she would be able to find something useful. As she walked behind Zack, her ears perked up suddenly at the sound of another set of footsteps. "Someone's coming. They're pretty close already." Sure enough, there was the fox again a few moments later, and she stepped a bit further behind Zack again out of instinct. "H-hello again, I guess. Um...I thought you were working alone, though. D-did you change your mind about joining us?"

'Here we go again.' Okori looked slightly annoyed but not that much, he was already used to it. 'What is the problem with me being part of a race of tricksters, look in the bright side, at least I am not a dragon or Satan or something along those lines.' "I am still pondering on that, if I see that you guys won't be a hindrance then I could probably join you guys, in this game of cat and mouse. Anyways, have you guys found anything at all?"

Zack studied the fox. He had heard stories about Okori's people. He wasn't sure how much he believed what the other boy said. Still if he had found a lead that would give them someplace to start. They needed a starting place. "Show me where you picked up the scent. My nose might be sensitive enough to give us enough to find the murder victim."

Okori gave them a signal to follow him as they made their way to the second floor. As they got near a door, Okori fell on the ground as he began to smell blood. He transformed into a small fox. A curled up in a small ball. "The smell starts here...." Okori was afraid of blood ever since the incident back at Mt.Norikura, that was the temporary residence of the Kitsune. Okori was still a small child, and one fateful day, Okori touched something he wasn't supposed to touch. The Mirror of Yata no Kagami. What the mirror showed was unpleasant, it was Okori killing his parents, showing the face of a killer. Okori punched the mirror, making a small crack on it. Right then a guard came to "take away" Okori, the guard saw the damage done to the mirror, and pounced on Okori. The rule of the guards protecting the mirror was to never let the mirror get damaged, and whoever did damage the mirror was to be killed on the spot. This time around it was Okori. He didn't want to get killed so he protected himself, he killed the guard. Suddenly his Parents walked through the door, they were guards in the shrine, they had to protect the mirror even of it meant killing their own son. Okori thought back to what the mirror showed him, and urged his parents not to come closer. His parents did not listen, and so when they lunged forward they died. Okori was devasted by his parents death's. He his the mirror of Yagatama in his bookbag, and went on a rampage killing the guards of the shrine on his way out of it. He ran away from the place he could call home.

Zack frowned at the fox. There was a story there he knew. He had seen the signs before. He wouldn't ask though. Even if Okori had been human he wouldn't have asked. Some pain was private he knew. If the fix wanted to share later hr would listen. He was good at listening. But he would never ask. He sniffed the air and caught a hint of something but it wasn't strong. He transformed into his animal form and started to follow it.

The mention of the situation as a game of cat and mouse didn't exactly instil confidence in the rabbit-eared girl, but she reluctantly followed anyway. It wasn't as if she'd be alone, at least, so maybe she would be fine. As the group continued onward through the hall of the second floor, Mocha did seem to notice something different in the air, even if she couldn't say very much about what it could mean. It seemed to be strongly affecting the fox, though, as he collapsed and transformed outside one of the doors. "A-ah! Are you alright? Y-you're not hurt, are you?" In spite of how much she feared foxes, seeing anyone hurt in front of her was still pretty terrible.

"B...Blood......Blood everywhere.... It stinks...I need to get back to the first.....floor." Okori was paralyzed with fear, he felt like vomiting but held it in. He began to shake. He transformed back into human forms extending an arm out for help. "Please.....Help....me get downstairs..."

Jade kept her eyes on the fox character, not sure what to think about the situation quite yet. Following the group to where the smell picked up, even she had to cover her nose. It wasn't like it bothered her, Gargoyles were hunters and primarily carnivorous, but it was a little disconcerting for a game. "Mocha, follow Zach and try to remember as much as possible. I'll take care of our... friend here." She nodded the girl on with encouragement before grasping Okori's outstretched arm. "Come on, you'll be alright." Despite being in his human form, Okori seemed much lighter than your average human, Jade helping him up with ease.
