"There are three requirements for ascension Desperation Pain And an Ultimatum Most of the time, if not all, that ultimatum is death, that pain is a fatal injury, and that desperation is the will to survive. In the end, they all wind up with the same fate: Ascension. They see that bright, gold door. A gateway into a higher plain of existence. They cling to that hope. They move towards their goal. They want to live. They want that second chance that all ascended beings get. They want to go to MetSin."

Maybe you were heart-broken, drifting in silent loneliness. You had no other alternatives than to isolate yourself. All in a sad attempt to start over. Maybe that's when the gate appeared. Perhaps you were dying. Your last regrets were that you never got to say goodbye or you never got to grow up. Unfortunately, it was too late. Maybe that's when the gate appeared. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that you're here in MetSin; a large city where all the Ascended end up when they join this higher plane of existence. Let's begin. Introductions will be short and explanations will be long.
You are an Ascended, a mortal who has passed through the gate that leads to MetSin. You have begun a new life in a higher plane of existence where you will do what normal people usually do. Meet new people, talk to friends, have a cup of coffee. Perhaps you always wanted to be a troublemaker. You can do that because there are almost no consequences here, not that we don't try to keep everything in order. Or perhaps you're a Kater, a benevolent demigod-like who usually take the forms of youth 11-15 to give their buddy an easier form to focus on. Katers exist for the soul purpose of serving the Ascended and, because that is a large order to fill, have their own unique powers that fit to every type of Ascended that comes into MetSin. Your job is to be their first friend and, on occasion, their guardian. You will always stay with your Ascended no matter what, and you can only leave them we they have been removed from MetSin with force by another Ascended.
Ascended usually fight one another. Sometimes to Descension, sometimes just to unconsciousness. When an Ascended is fatally wounded in combat they will descend back to the mortal realm, losing all of their powers, knowledge, etc. and because MetSin runs on the same clock as the mortal realm, you will most likely not have a body to return to.
Basics
Ascension is a very simple process- Pass through the gate, become a higher being, have fun forever. What the Ascended are is even more simple. They're powerful, immortal beings that live in the large and wacky city called MetSin. The Ascended are almost guaranteed to be fun to play as. You get all the perks of being human AND you actually get to interact with the NPC class beings that populate MetSin. Interesting fact: Ascended have white, glowing blood.
Powerful, deceptive, destructive, and godlike, True Form Katers are forcefully pushed into MetSin which strips them of the almighty power they possessed. A Kater's purpose in MetSin is to serve and guide their chosen Ascended while they attempt to adapt to MetSin and the new way of life MetSin offers. Katers are fun because they have the ability to shape shift, although it's limited to what their Ascended can understand and what the Kater itself knows. Shape Shift also has a two day cooldown before you can shape shift again. Alongside shape shifting, some Katers can hover at most five feet above the ground, however this power only applies if you are less than five feet tall yourself and you can float less the taller you are (3 feet and lower have a five foot hover, 4 feet have a four foot hover, 5 feet have a three foor hover.) Interesting fact: While Katers prefer to use other genders, their true forms are not genderless. It is like this most likely to surprise Katers who awaken their true forms to find that they are the opposite gender than they were seconds ago.
NPC class MetSin citizens make up the majority of the MetSin population. They run the shops, the services, build the structures, and do everything a regular human would do. They are playable, BUT they cannot directly influence the plot and they have no special abilities. I would not recommend being an NPC class player. Interesting fact: NPCs are boring in theory but they might be fun to play if you act as the straight man to all the Ascended antics.
Metsin is the large, futuristic city that all Ascended, Katers, and NPCs live in. It covers the entire realm, which doesn't say much because the realm of MetSin is smaller than the Earth and possibly even Earth's moon. The buildings of MetSin repair themselves overnight so the Ascended don't have to worry about permanently breaking their favorite coffee shop or house while they fight. Currently, there is no authority in MetSin aside from the Ascended Damage Control which is an independent law enforcement that keeps the would-be criminal Ascended off the streets.
Not-So Basics
Descension is a pretty heavy topic. It's like death, except you go back to the life and the body you had before you ascended. Not much is known, but it's a big enough of a punishment to keep people from fighting anyone, even if their morals tell them to.
The Ascended have several classes depending on why they ascended in the first place and how many body parts they have left. In alphabetical order:
Biocine: These cyborgs lost several pieces of their body before they ascended. Whether that be an arm, a leg, or a head, it doesn't matter. They get that body part back exactly how it would have been when you ascended. When attacked by another Ascended, the missing body parts turn into steampunk-themed super limbs that help them in combat. They have several versions themselves, depending on how many body parts you lost.
Magicine: Ascended who had died in their passed life gain arcane abilities that make them seemingly unbeatable. While their powers are limited to simple elements and defense or offense, they are not to be taken lightly.
Doomicine: Ascended who were emotionally distant when they were alive or suffered from several mental disorders become Doomicine. Doomicine are given only one ability: They can master any ONE weapon or skill. Not very useful, but would still be very effective in a fight depending on the skill.
MetSin Law was created and upheld by the ADC: Ascended Damage Control. The ADC descend any Ascended that break the law to a major extent and imprison the minor lawbreakers. They are indeed a fearsome group who would do anything to protect MetSin from troublemakers a evildoers.
Meta
I could name a lot of shit that inspired me to make MetSin Plus, but I won't. All you need to know is that it's there and you can deal wif it. I just wanted to do a simple but remarkably deep story about people who have ascended to a higher plane of existence.

Ascended and Katers will be paired up once we have enough members. Asking will not speed up the process. Currently there is no actual plot. I expect to keep it that way until the first fight happens. So, if you want story and progression, you better fuckin' murder someone.
