This was it. It was finally it. Today I get to meet my new family. I wonder just how they would be? Would they be kind? Mean? Laid back or strict? It didn't matter to me. I was just happy to finally get to experience something different for a change. As far as I know, they didn't give too many details of who they were just enough to sign the papers and adopt me. The only thing I was told that I was in good hands now, whatever that meant. I didn't have to wait long, however. Soon enough, a long black limousine pulled up in front of me. I blinked once, then twice. Surely, that can't be the person who was going to pick me up, right? I got my answer when a tall woman in a maid's outfit stepped out of the car. She was beautiful...in both her figure and looks. Deep green eyes, pristine alabaster skin, even her hairstyle had fit her. Strangely enough, it seemed the ends just above the ears looked like animal ears. I thought that I must've been mistaking it for something else so I didn't say anything. The look on her face was just as blank as the scenery around me. Wow, it must've took some work to have a poker face like that.

"Excuse me. Are you Saren-sama?" she asked with a polite, light voice.

"I-I am. Are you the one who's going to pick me up, Miss?" I replied in a small voice. I squeaked a small bit. Not a good one either.

"Yes, I'm your personal maid for now. My name's Teresa. Teresa Misaki." she kneeled down to me. A small smile curved on her lips.

"I-I see...It's nice to meet you, Miss Teresa." I said in a slightly shaky voice.

"Call me Teresa, Master. Come, it's time for you to meet your family." she took my hand and my small bag in her other hand then walked me over to the car. Honestly, I felt the heat rise to my face when she touched me. Her hands were surprisingly soft and smooth compared to my tiny, rough hand. I felt bad that someone like me even touched her. She had no qualms with it, in fact, she was quite happy to meet me. Even so, I felt awkward. Very awkward. I was sweating a little and my heart palpitated in my chest. I didn't know what to do. She sensed my nervousness and picked me up in her arms, holding me close to her.

"Let's go. I know the residents of the manor would love to meet you, Master Saren. Please don't be nervous, I promise you that we're going to take very good care of you for now on. If you need anything then please tell me. I'm here to serve your every command." she said with a soft smile. My blush intensified when she said that. Serve me? But...I don't want to tell anyone what to do. She looked like someone important. I couldn't just order someone around like that and have them waiting on me hand and foot. I was going to say something but she she cuddled me even closer to her chest. She felt very soft and she smelled heavenly. I couldn't believe someone like this existed. I know the world can be a strange place but this was even stranger to me. This was in a circle that I never thought I'd ever seen in my young life but there it was and this woman, Teresa, was going to be my personal maid. I had a feeling that this was going to be very strange.

Teresa took my bag and put them inside the trunk before walked over to the door with me in hand and opening it with her free hand. She gotten inside and placed me on her lap. She wrapped one of her arms around me then very gently with her other hand leaned my head against her chest again then rubbed my head lovingly and softly. It calmed me down, honestly. I closed my eyes and relaxed against her. She looked to the driver then she nodded which he did as well and he drove off. About five minutes down the road, I opened my eyes to watch all the scenery around us pass us by. I looked up at her and she was still smiling down at me and stroking my head. I couldn't believe how docile I was being by this woman's touch but I couldn't help it. She was skilled with this, maybe it came with the job? It wasn't that though. It was like she was my mother right now. She felt warm, really warm. It was unbelievable to think that this would be my life for now on. A part of me was thinking that this was too good to be true but the other part knew that this was reality. A reality that I was now a part of. It made me happy, sure, but more than that, I felt like I belonged. Teresa made me feel like this. The look on her face was telling me that it was alright and there was nothing to worry about. I snuggled up to her and buried my head against her chest she then wrapped her arms gently around my head and closed her eyes.

She started humming.

It was a familiar song. One that I was very fond of.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of this song but it was a song that was sung to me when I couldn't sleep at night. That was it. I was so relaxed that I started nodding off. Choosing not to fight it any longer, I decided to let sleep take me. I was tired, after all. I was so excited yesterday night that I didn't sleep at all. Maybe she could sense that and wanted me to rest. Regardless, I took the chance and did so. I closed my eyes and drifted off. The last thing I saw was her smiling down at me.
