I started the original Angels in Arcadia thread a while back, but I've been sorely tempted to recreate it.
The premise is relatively simple: Each writer plays a human and an Angel character. You human is assigned to someone else's angel, and your angel is assigned to someone else's human. Humans act as an angel's anchor on Earth, letting them use their powers to fight demons while being the source of intrigue and investigation. The Angels will act as enforcers and be the source of action.
Plot Premise
Arcadia, Louisiana has seen better days. A sleepy southern town on the Gulf coast, it was completely devastated by the BP oil spill that tainted so much of the ocean. Tourism dried up and never returned, forcing most of the people who lived there to pack up and move to the cities. To make matters worse, the oil never truly went away. It's been seeping into the ponds and streams around the town, slowly getting into the drinking wells. Anyone that drinks it goes completely and utterly batshit- speaking in tongues, suffering seizures, and having a general psychotic break from reality.
Your Human character is one of the few unlucky ones left in the town that, for one reason or another hasn't left. One of your close friends from school, Bill Finnley, drank from a tainted fountain in gym class before succumbing to the oil's effects. You've seen firsthand what this stuff does to people, and crude oil doesn't do that. And by the way, who's the strange guy in the suit and tie you've seen walking around Main Street at night?
Your Angel character has been called in to Arcadia because he/she/it knows a hint of what's really going on here. Crude oil doesn't drive humans insane after drinking it. But Demon's blood does. First thing's first, you'll need to find a human anchor that will let you manifest your powers on this plane, and then get to work cleaning up the town...
