Origins: In the year 2019, a strange occurrence shook the Earth. In the deep ends of space, a rare sight took place among planetary alignments. This set of planets aligned perfectly creating a momentary wormhole releasing a Giant Rock that would be known as 'The Primordial Rock'. It was a prison for ancient evils that had been locked away since times long past. Coming through the wormhole, much of the rock broke apart and many of these struck the earth in the form of meteors. Now scattered throughout the earth and space, the evils began to wake and take siege.

However, this was not all that the rocks held. Many secrets lined the rocks and humans began to discover their own past. Civilizations that existed long ago, that they held no record of till now. Among these secrets, ancient powers and bloodlines were released upon the earth, affecting many people and awakening beings that had been in a long slumber. It was a brave new world.

Among such humans affected, was a woman by the name of Sonja Rodriguez, who happened upon a very unique piece of the rock. A triangular stone, as black as night. A mesmerizing array of colors trickled back and forth within the rock. Then, as she touched the rock, her world was changed forever. A Primordial magic was released into her bloodline. She began to be able to see a spectrum of colors she had never seen before, but this wasn't all. She found that she also was able to create and mold this color. She became the first molder, of what she would call "Prism".

She would spend years behind closed doors molding Prism, and studying it. Soon, however, she gave birth to a child who would also develop her unique gift. However, bringing a child into this new dangerous world made her heart grieve. She attempted to live normally, and raise the child that way. It was easier said than done though, as her dreams in the night were filled with a draw to a greater destiny. She resisted.

As the earth changed, great cities flourished in the new times, creating large empires upon the earth. Things were destroyed and things were created. Her home became part of a desolate wasteland outside the cities, though she remained with her husband, raising a family outside of the grip of these empires. Times were different, and so the family took on Archery as a means to survival and hunting. Miguel, his father often struggled with such task soon became a home-body. Riddled with Depression, he would soon end his own life.

Sonja and Mason were supernaturally skilled with archery. They loved it, and their ability to see things that normal people couldn't, helped them in this. They were more than able to provide for themselves, his younger sister, Gloria, and his uncle, Carlos.

Mason, would become a trouble maker in his youth, after his father's passing. His uncle didn't help matters, as we was rather unruly as well, mixed up with many gangs that tormented the outer wastelands of the new Primordial Earth. He did not have the same appreciation for lifestyle that his parents had. He became a desolate island, independent in his search for something more. He wanted to set himself apart. Sonja wasn't fooled though. It was the draw that she experienced herself.

At the age of 16, everything would change. A Dormant Primordial rock erupted within one of the great cities; Houston-1923. From this rock, powerful creatures emerged, leaving the city in ruins. Millions died. The force of the creatures from within that rock nearly wiped out the entirety of South American. Times for his family were just becoming rougher, as even animals became rare because of the creatures. American forces would eventually stop the force of creatures that had come from the Houston-1923 rock, but it left everything south of it in wreckage.

Mason had come face to face with the life his parents had tried to protect him from. He would pack his things and head north, with his family, all the while, discovering his own path that was beginning to open up to him. He wanted to be one of the heroes. One of the ones, that since the landing of the primordial rocks, had stood up with great ability and fought for the lively-hood of humans.

Humans were stretching across the stars in this period, and as the galaxy soon became a much bigger place, these heroes were stretched thin. Earth was becoming a place of decay as Primordial creatures began taking reign. Someone needed to stand up. Mason knew he had to, he just needed to figure out how.

It was in the wreckage of his old home, in the wastelands of Mexico, that he would discover his mother's journal on his abilities. Following her journal, he happened upon the Primordial rock that had released the Black Prism that had given his mother and eventually him, powers. Inside the rock, he'd find much more, and learn that the placement of the rocks was no coincidence at all. Inside the rock were the belongings of his own bloodline passed down from Ancient times. The Beginnings. The Hero, Pathos: The Prismatic Archer would be born.

Equipment:

Chroma, The Rainbow Arc - A bow/dual sword Hybrid weapon fashioned by Mason's Ancestors. The bow was fashioned out of an intricate lacing of prism over the course of years, creating a near impenetrable weapon. The bow uses the user's own Prism as the source of string, causing a durable string that produces accurate, high velocity, and impact of arrows. The arrows itself are formed from the user's own prism as well. (See abilities for more information of Arrows) The ends of the bow are heavily sharp and serrated blades. The bow is 62" long, making the blades about 25" each. The bow can be pulled apart at the center, using prism, to form two blades for close range combat.

Prism Guard - (See image above) The Prism Guard, is in a common style of Mason's Ancestors. The material is mostly leather and cloth, integrated with Prism strands to create an extremely flexible and light outfit that also adds much needed protection. Not as strong as Heavy plate armor, but durable enough to withstand medium blows.

Skills/Combat:

Dual-Weapon: During close combat, Mason typically resorts to using Chroma as dual blades. He is decently skilled in this, but it isn't his preferred method of fighting, nor would he be able to out-dual a master at Dual Weaponry.

Archery: Mason's primary skill set lies in his Archery skills. It is nearly second nature to him, and made even more deadly by his abilities. He's able to stand toe to toe with the most skilled Archers that exist.

Trapsmithing: While no expert in delicate trapsmithing, he is an expert at Traps commonly used by hunters. Mason often will use a mixture of his environment and abilities to form traps for his enemies.

Lockpicking: Picked up from his youthful days, Mason knows how to pick most non-magical locks. Again, his abilities come in handy as he can adjust the pick in his hand to the lock, should the pick be made from Prism.

First Aid: This was his mother's expertise, but Mason certainly learned a few tricks along the way, even to the point of being able to perform a very minor surgery for the removal of blood clots. Sometimes strange, but always useful.

Hunting/Guerilla Tactics: Mason grew up hunting for food, and uses many similar tactics in his fighting style. He is no amateur at using his environment to suit him, and often avoids close-hand combat unless absolutely required. His speed and maneuverability are of his greatest attributes.

Botany/Zoology: Growing up in the wilds of Mexico, he became very familiar with plant and animal life. Before his passing, Mason's father often taught him. He's very familiar with earth based plants and animals, and is able to discern enough about foreign ones to make good judgments on them if they are new to him.

Powers/Abilities: Mason's specific abilities allow him to naturally see a broad spectrum of colors, even outside the normal human spectrum. Not only can he see these colors, but most of them, he is able to create (Called Prism), and depending on the colors, they have different properties. While Mason can craft any color he needs in small amounts, if he can visually see a color, he can draw from that and create much more Prism. If the color is not visible to him, then he could interact with the emotion tied with that color to produce it. However, he must be careful not to overdo it, or else he could enter a 'Giist Stage', called that for it's effect of breaking an emotional barrier that then begins to overtake the user's soul with the emotion, at it's strongest levels. In this stage, he can create large amounts of Prism of the specific corresponding color, and small amounts of those closest to it in the color spectrum, but other's become difficult, if not impossible to make. The Giist stage can often be reversed after a period of rest, or high concentration on an opposite emotion. Visually, The Giist causes the user's halo in the eyes to break and overflow the eye with the specific color being used. It then begins to take over the pigment in the skin. Large amounts of prism created of a specific color can often make the user feel a specific way.

Basic Prism Listed in order on the Spectrum:

Paryl: By dilating the pupils so far that the whites of the eyes disappear the user can see into paryl. Paryl resembles millimeter waves on the electromagnetic spectrum. Paryl is on the spectrum between X-ray and Gamma. Paryl users have the ability to see through objects unless they are made of metal as paryl can pass through matter to a certain depth. Paryl is most commonly drafted in a gas, or a 'paryl torch', however it is possible to create a liquid or even a solid. Paryl can be a destructive force, attacking living cells. Gas is easier to create than liquid, and liquid easier than solid. The is no Primary Emotion.

Ultra-Violet: Made of wavelengths shorter than most human eyes can see, superviolet prism is invisible Solid, but not as strong as blue or green, superviolet is the subtlest prism. Used for cryptography, creating invisible walls and traps, and marking targets on the battlefield. The Emotional effects of superviolet tend to create a removed outlook. They appreciate irony and sarcasm and are sometimes cold. The Primary emotion for Ultra Violet is Pensiveness.

Violet: Violet prism is similar to blue; hard, strong, and smooth. It can be used in anything from the creation of large structures to armor or bladed weapons or projectiles. Violet however, can often be much stronger, and able to penetrate otherwise unbreakable armor. Violet takes longer and more concentration to create though. Like Blue, Violet causes it's user to become orderly, inquisitive, and unfailingly rational. Structure, rules, and hierarchy are important. Then like Super-Violet, Violet can often be Cold. The Primary emotion is Sadness.

Blue: Blue prism is hard, strong, and smooth. It can be used in anything from the creation of large structures to armor or bladed weapons or projectiles. Blue's emotional effects cause the user to be orderly, inquisitive, and unfailingly rational. Structure, rules, and hierarchy become important. The Primary emotion is Amazement.

Green: Green prism is springy and flexible as it is hard. The uses are as varied as the drafter is creative: from furniture to projectiles to shields to the throwing arms of war engines. Green is are wild and free. Causes the user to don't so much disrespect authority as not even recognize it. The Primary emotion for Green is both Terror and Admiration

Yellow: Yellow prism is most often a liquid that releases its energy back into light quickly, allowing its use as a torch or a trigger to ignite flammable materials or explosives. Yellow nourishes other prism, extending the durability of prism structures or tools. Like water turning to ice, when yellow is drafted perfectly, it loses its liquidity and becomes the hardest prism of all. This takes time and concentration. Yellow causes it's user to tend to be clear thinkers, intellect and emotion in perfect balance. The Primary emotion is Joy. Due to it's state, this only way to form a yellow giist is purely out of a desire to do so.

Orange: Orange prism is slick, lubricative, and heavy. It is often used in conjunction with machines and traps. Orange can cause the user to become artistic, brilliant in understanding other people’s emotions and motivations. Some use this to defy or exceed expectations. Others become master manipulators. Orange prism can also be used to create hexes, altering others emotions. The Primary emotion of Orange is Vigilance.

Red: Red prism is sticky, gooey, and extremely flammable. Red can often work with Infared or with mundane tools to make bombs. Red can be used to catastrophic effect in battle. Red can make the user become quick tempered, impulsive, lusty, and love destruction. The Primary emotion for Red is Rage.

Infrared: By dilating his eyes fully, the user can see heat, allowing them to see (to an extent) in the dark. He can draft the heat from their surroundings to survive intense heat and create flame crystals which turn into fire when exposed to air. Infared causes the user to be passionate in all ways, the most purely emotional of all the prisms. The is no Primary emotion for Infared, except for passion.

Chi: Chi often appears in others as life force. Chi is one of the only of the Prism that he has seen others, outside of his bloodline, use. Though while most people can use it, they can't traditionally see it. His Chi can be used to communicate across long distances. It can be used to heal in an at rest state of mind, along with concentration. He is also able to enter a dream like state, that allows him to essentially astral project and see inside the minds of others. Other practical uses include being able to use chi himself to deflect the chi of others. Creating chi can create a very strong feeling of empathy towards others, in some cases this can mean that they can even feel the individual colors in the spectrum (when the light is in direct contact with their skin).

White: Not much is known or understood about White Prism. Unkown

Black: Not much is known or understood about Black Prism. It can be created by drawing on darkness or through hatred. While it is formed originally as a thick liquid, it's form and density can be adjusted by the user. Black Prism cannot be used with other prisms. It drains any energy it comes in contact with, including life force. Mason can only form a very small amount of it currently as it can create a mental, physical, and emotional toll on it's user. It's primary use is the ability to trap fragments of very specific souls For the use in the Paradoxical Prism. The souls can tap into a specific color.

He enjoys meeting new people, and Humans in particular. He has a passion for Human lifestyles and ancient Human culture in particular. If he wasn't where he was in his life, he's probably enjoy being an archaeologist or some collector of old stuff. He is a lover of people, though he is very cautious of them. He dislikes rude or arrogant people, and at the end of the day prefers the silence of only a small company of trusted few. He enjoys classic rock and pop music. He's very playful, with humans in particular. Though, he can become serious very quick. He has many aspirations for his future and ponders on them often, but doesn't like to discuss them, because he doesn't feel like they are possible.

Origins: The Origins of Taro are shrouded in Mystery. This Incarnation of him is the Bastard son of The Patheon God of Sympan. He doesn't speak to much of his family outside his Father's humble servant, the Swordsman Musashi. However, unbeknown to Taro, this is one of many of his incarnations, presumably created by or as a result of the Citadel. There are some ancient Cults that believe Taro was one of the Heroes who sought to take down the Citadel in ancient times and failed, instead, becoming a servant of it. Those who have watched him throughout is incarnations attribute his fondness for Human Culture to this.

Since his time with the Citadel, he has become one of the most recognized of the Citadel's incarnated heroes, and most increased in terms of power. Usually coming toward the end of an Era, arriving after many of the other incarnations, as a precursor to great destruction within the universe. The last time he had arrived, nearly half the universe was wiped away in the opening of the Primordial Gates. This Incarnation is different though, as he is reported as one of the first of the incarnations to appear, rather than last. Many Cults across the Multiverse seek to have him destroyed as he tends to be a omen.

He is also associated with the White Dragon Snake, Apophis. Many of the Incarnations are associated with Animals, but Apophis is the most prevalent one throughout history. Early on, Taro's associated animal was said to be something different. No one is quite sure where or when the snake arrived in the picture.

The Wild Kitsune

Name: Hadyn Cole
Alias: Koan Inori
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race/Species: Caucasian Human, Kitsune
Power Level: High Medium-Powered

Appearance:
  • Normal Appearance:
Hadyn's physical appearance doesn't seem like much, outside of his obvious physical appeal. Like most Kitsune he is tall and skinny, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 145 pounds. He is extremely lithe but suffers from a somewhat feeble body, because of this. Even in full attire, they stay light-weighted due to hallow but strong bone structure. His skin is a dark complected, smooth and supple, with narrow shoulders and lanky arms, with a dark black hair color and bright green eyes.

Hadyn's left arm is adorned in various Tattoo-like body art, a dragon in particular. This is called a Kitsune's Okori. Some races translate this as 'Origins'. (More to be explained below) However, it acts as more as an impression on the body and not like traditional Tattooing, and can change as the Kitsune does.

His clothing is more meek and conventional. Hadyn's clothing are light and billowy, held together by various straps and buckles. Adorning his clothes are various metal trinkets, bracelets and necklaces. Though decorative the clothing as a whole is conventional and allows for physical labor and work, while at the same time providing formal attire.
  • Avatar Appearance:
As Hadyn begins to take on the Power of his Fox Spirit (In battle situations), Koan, the spirit begins to infuse itself into Hadyn's physical appearance in a variety of ways. Hadyn's natural hair becomes slightly longer and more coarse. His left eye displays a noticeable change in becoming a bright red. Though the rest of his face becomes covered in a strange white fox-like mask, with red markings. These markings become noticeably similar to his Okori, which expands across the rest of his body, changing into a ruby red color. His skin becomes slightly noticeably more thicker, while his finger nails, teeth, and other body extremities become noticeably longer and sharper.

Those that can see spiritual things, will notice a wolf like shape covering Hadyn's body, which acts much like an armor. In certain situations, this can even manifest more physically, to be noticeable by all.

Personality:
  • Hadyn:
In true Kitsune fashion, Hadyn has an innate love for Trickery and art, in which he grew up with. Hadyn is much more timid than most, but easily amused. He generally follows his own ethical code, but will usually adapt to the morals of those around him, mostly for the sake of being accepted than anything else. As a Kitsune though, he has strong primal senses and reactions toward certain behaviors. Offending what a kitsune believes is 'correct' can make them evil, malicious, and disruptive. Behaving according to what they think is right, however, is rewarded with politeness, kindness, and helpfulness. Hadyn delights in finding a weakness in someone, and aggravating said weakness until others notice it. Immoral people find their weakness exploited so as to become more immoral, heading down the path of destruction. Moral ones may still be tricked or teased, in order to show them humility. Hadyn always keeps his promises. If he does end up breaking one, he can become self-destructive in behavior, and if someone breaks their promise to a him, they become deadly enemies. Hadyn can be very emotional, and his emotions can be a way to their undoing. Sorrow or guilt can distract or harm them, or even kill them outright. Hadyn won't accept help from those who are unwilling. If one wishes to aid him, they must do it of their own free will. He doesn't like asking for help to begin with, so the offerer usually must initiate. Aside from being emotional, he can also be very vengeful. He can lose his tempers in a snap. Once someone has the hatred of a kitsune, the spirit will begin enacting a revenge that can get quite extreme. Those who have earned the kitsune's trust, however, will have a friendship that can last many trials. Freedom is very important to kitsune. They don't like being bound or trapped, and will not accept being forced into something that they don't wish. Trapping the kitsune weakens it.
  • Koan:
Koan acts very similar to Hadyn in most senses, though it tends to act more morally 'good', than normal Kitsune Spirits. For this fact, many who notice Hadyn's Spirit might assume that it is a Myobu. A fox spirit loyal to the Goddess, Inari. A rarity, specially amongst Hadyn's clan of Kitsune who Worship 'The Lady'. Although Koan and Hadyn are one, they don't communicate as much as other Kitsune of his clan speak with their spirits. One could assume there is some level of distrust between the two, though they work in harmony when facing a foe.

Origins:

Deep in the country side of Avelyn, human villages were paved across the land. Hadyn was born in the Village of Minit, amongst his fellow Kitsune Kin. Though, they remained hidden from the humans that lived around them. The Kitsune were not shy creatures at all. They mingled with the Humans on almost every basis. However, Kin related things stayed within the walls of their own homes. The Humans of Avelyn were never fond of magic, and specially not those of creatures outside of themselves. If a Kitsune were discovered, it would mean the death of them and their families.

Luckily, as great illusionist as many of them were, hiding themselves was relatively easy. When the humans began to show signs of aging, where the kitsune did not as much, they'd travel to another village and blend in once again.

Hadyn was born with 3 identical brothers; Pau, Kuzu, and Jing. His clan was known for it's many male Kitsune, which would be extremely rare in other clans. Pau was a very kind-hearted child. Kuzu and Jing were mischievous and often in trouble for going too far. Hadyn was somewhere in between. He loved good practical jokes, as was common for Kitsune, however, he knew the extent at which it should go, to not be caught by Humans.

Because Pau was the Kind-hearted one, he would often be a target of his two mischievous brothers. Elders of the Kin learned in quick time, that Pau had not developed the Spirit of the Fox, and thus was marked as Human. Regardless, Hadyn had a deep love for his brother and spent much time with him were others would not. Humans born of Kitsune were often overlooked.

Kitsune were taught at a young age to begin developing their abilities. The three primary abilities were Communicating with their spirits, Minor Illusions, and Fox Fire. Hadyn developed the last two excellently, however, he found it difficult to speak with his Fox spirit. Being one of the easiest abilities to master, his elders found it quite concerning, though they could never figure out the reasoning. The only obvious answer was that his Fox spirit did not want to speak to him for some reason.

Over time, Hadyn developed an unbreakable connection with Pau. While Hadyn learned to use his abilities, Pau often watched, and as soon as he was excused, the two would wonder off into the village. Partially to enjoy the scenery of the village in the evening, but also to escape the torments of his brothers.

It was during one of these times that disaster struck. Kuzu and Jing had managed to find Pau alone, and began messing with him, playing with his mind through illusions. Pau found himself frightened and scared, attempting to flee, impaled himself on a broken fence line. Moments later, Hadyn found him and his two now frightened brothers surrounded by a group of strangers who were confused and appalled at what they had just seen.

Feeling himself overwhelmed with anger, Hadyn lashed out at his brothers, tossing punches. Several grown humans attempted to step in as Hadyn found himself immediately tossed back, no match for both of them. However, this only angered him further, causing a sudden surge of power in himself. Suddenly, and without warning, the skies above the village were full of fire. His Kin found the kids mere moments later, knocking each of them unconscious.

However, the damage had been done. The surge of energy caused every illusion and protection the Kitsune had in place to suddenly fall. It didn't take long for the Humans to realize what had happen and begin to retaliate. In one swoop, hundreds of Kitsune and even many humans would succumb to the raw power of fear from the humans. They were wiped out.

Hadyn woke days later just beyond the village. There was an unmistakable smell of burnt flesh. As he attempted to run and find out what had happened, a man reached out his hand to stop the boy. The man sorrowfully grabbed Hadyn's shoulder and in an instant, his entire life changed. Hadyn mourned for years after the fact, but his spirit somehow survived.

The man that had saved Hadyn, he'd only know as "Arsto". Hadyn would stay with the man for years, but he never learned much about the man personally. He just knew he was trustworthy. He knew that Arsto was a scientist of sorts, though the things he studied were often very strange. He had only ended up saving Hadyn's life by mere coincidence that Hadyn's Kitsune clan was one of few that produced boys. That was, alone, enough for Arsto to want to study them. Arsto immediately recognized Hadyn's abilities when he discovered the bloody boys in the streets of Minit. It was he who would then knock the boys out swiftly in attempts to quell the situation and save the rare Kitsune Clan. However, even he did not expect what would happen. He managed to sneak Hadyn out of the village before the slaughter began.

Suddenly, Hadyn found himself in the city known as Judicah. An ancient city built an maintained by an assortment of races, many of which Hadyn had never seen or even heard of. The technology was so advanced compared to the small world he had come from, he was unsure of how to take it all in. He wasn't sure how Arsto did it, but he was in a whole new world.

Hadyn would work for many years underneath the scientist, helping with his studies and learning quite a bit about the world in which he now lived, and others that he was able to explore. Hadyn's cleverness became quite an asset for the scientist. Though, the studies he found most interesting were ones of ancient empires that once ruled. The intricateness of their magic was fascinating to him. The most notable to him, was an Empire that ruled under the command of 'The Red Sage'. Hadyn found it's magic to be extremely notable among others, and spent much of his time studying them.

However, even the studies couldn't keep a Kitsune for long. Hadyn developed a sense of adventure, and outside of his new found work, he'd spend much of his day with many friends doing nearly insane things. Though, what he would seek more than any of that would be to find out more about his own species and what exactly happened.

Arsto was much help in training Hadyn in as much Kitsune culture as he knew. Hadyn found that not only was Arsto very intelligent, but quite combatant. He never knew how Arsto knew all the things he did, but he didn't ask either. The man was very secretive about his past, and preferred it that way.

After many years though, there wasn't anything Arsto could do for Hadyn anymore. His Kitsune abilities were developing in strange ways that neither could explain. He began having strange dreams. Dreams of other worlds. Dreams of strange creatures. Dreams of a masked man with strange music. Dreams of The Red Sage. He needed to follow them. Follow the Signs.

Equipment:
Armor/Clothing
  • Clothing
    • Hadyn wears the absolute minimum he thinks he can get away with during normal situations. He has a hard time letting himself be confined to clothing, but he does. His clothes are usually dark material, light and open enough for him to not feel confined too much, but also not too loose that he could easily get caught on something. He enjoys wearing belts and various bits of jewelry that he develops an attachment for. His favorite piece of jewelry however, is a small white orb earing, he keeps in his left ear. He isn't sure where it came from, but he has an unnatural fascination for it.

Weaponry
  • Keibi
    • A 36" double sided Katana. Keibi was originally created as an Elfish blade, made to be light and swift, while packing a defensive punch against large ogres, that would swing hard. The blade uses a mixture of bizarre properties and magic that lightens blows used against it or hits with extra pulse, making it a very viable weapon as well as shield, typically for spell-swords that would use their other hand to cast magics. The blade was given to him by a group of elderly elven merchants who were very thankful that he had showed up in time to fend off a group of bandits in Neveina.
  • Rai'chu
    • A 62" golden bow, belonging to Hadyn's Fox Spirit. The bow creates it's own serrated arrows. The bow is intriguingly made to shoot at high velocity. The arrows are surrounded with electricity and holy energies. Since the bow belongs to his spirit, he is able to summon the bow from the spiritual realms. A bow rated 320 FPS IBO speed, 60 lbs. version of the bow set to 28″ draw length, with some accessories on the string, a 35O grain arrow. Delivers approximately 59 ft-lbs of kinetic energy at point-blank range. This is an estimation of a shot delivered at Point blank range with full drawl length. Shoots at 255 FPS in most cases.

Inventory
  • Velvet Pouch
    • Hadyn carries around a velvet pouch, magically amplified to fit more things in it's small space. Objects include:
      Various types of Multidimensial funds.
      Water.
      Bread.
      Several journals noting ancient cultures.
      Rope

Skills:
Natural Skills
  • Foxhood:
    • Hadyn's natural body is much faster, more nimble, strong, and more durable than the average person, due to his Kitsune nature. He excels specifically in speed and nimbleness. His senses are naturally amplified as well. As a Kitsune, Hadyn is immune to any kind of electricity or fire.

Educated Skills
  • Archeology/Anthropology
    • Due to his time with Artso, Hadyn had become very fluent and knowledgeable when it comes to ancient cultures and civilizations, as well as many current ones. He also studies heavily into the Nature of various creatures and humanoids.
  • Elven Swordsmanship
    • Being light and nimble in nature, himself, like many elves, his training with Arsto included many traditional and ancient elven styles of swordsmanship, specifically spellsword styles.
  • Fox Pugilist
    • Arsto's training of Hadyn also includes various Kitsune fighting styles as well as martial arts techniques in order to train using his fist and claws, which become extremely sharp and durable upon transition into his Avatar (Kitsune) State.

Abilities:
Natural:
  • Avatar State
    • Also known as the Kitsune State. This is the state in which Koan physically manifest in the appearance of Hadyn's own body. This state is automatically taken if Koan feels threatened. Hadyn's natural abilities are increased dramatically, including; Strength, Speed, Defense, Agility, and Endurance. His natural senses are heightened substantially. While Hadyn's natural scent is very good, his Kitsune state can allow him to smell things several miles away. He also receives a spike in what he is able to do with his Kitsune's magic, where it is traditionally limited otherwise. The Avatar state also creates a physical yet invisible armor around him, that can only be seen in the spiritual, or in very select instances. It takes a fox-like humanoid shape.
  • Eyes of the Fox
    • Hadyn's eyes are able to pierce the thickest veils. Darkness presents no obstacles. His eyes are able to see through illusions and any magical or physical thing that tries to temporary create blindness. He is also able to see beyond the physical realm into others. Naturally speaking, he can see 5x greater than the average Human.
  • Surge of the Fox Spirit
    • Koan provides various defensive capabilities for Hadyn. The spirit prevents curses, hexes, and the like from directly affecting Hadyn. Those that reside in a specific area, or other defenses, natural or magical receive a spiritual surge from the spirit, that attempts to shut them down or over-power them. The Surge also acts in the same way towards toxins and diseases attempting to take it's course in Hadyn's body. The only defenses the Fox Spirit can't overwhelm in the same manner, is those magical, protecting against spiritual entities. Non-traditional weaponry and technology is especially weak to the surge. This includes any lingering spells.

Spiritual
  • Fox Fire
    • Hadyn is able to create and manipulate Fox Fire. A simple and yet deadly force of Flames manifested from Kitsune, even able to cut through water and ice. It continues to burn for as long as the user has the ability to control it. It does not act like natural or magical flame, so does not adhere to their traditional rules. Flame resistant items are still likely to burn over a small course of time with Fox Fire.
  • Fox Spark
    • As well as Fire, a Kitsune trained to manipulate it's fire into a condensed energy, can create a manipulatable force of electricity. Because of the nature of it's creation, a direct shot is able penetrate armor, and completely destroy large boulders. These arcs of electricity are often surrounded by several feet of electrical waves, capable of stunning and electrocuting those near the arc.
  • Fox Ash
    • Fox's Ash, only usable in a Kitsune state. Fox's Ash imbues earth element with Fox Fire, allowing for it to be manipulated in an ash like form, capable of burning similar to Fox Fire, and crushing enemies under earthen force.
  • Illusions of the Kitsune (Low-Tier Version)
    • Hadyn is able to create small illusions, roughly no larger than the average person. He can make himself appear differently, or even create an illusion of himself.
  • Okari
    • Ryuu- The Dragon
As a natural Enemy to Kitsune, Dragons are able to consume the Fox Spirit within a Kitsune. The Dragon Okari protects Hadyn against attacks that might hinder or attempt to remove or destroy his Fox spirit, and creates an impenetrable bond between the two.
    • Ural- The Golden Star
Kitsune are able to create pocket dimensions, however, they often require a great amount of time and energy to manifest, the Golden Star Okari is created as an unlock-able source for creating these pocket dimensions easily. They do however, take time to recharge. As such, they aren't suitable for battle purposes, unless used to escape.
    • Seismo- The Gray Cloud
Kitsune are naturally agile and roguish beings, and once upon a time relied on magics to create spells that helped them in these endeavors. However, Arcane magics were a lost art for Hadyn's Kin. Instead, they used their Okari to produce similar effects. Seismo was one such Okari. Seismo creates a magical mist that reduces visibility greatly. It was created with magics that would allow it to resist gust and strong forces of wind that would wish to do it away. Seismo can also be used inwards, to instead, create a veil of correctly formed water particles, giving a mirror like effect, and causing the user to appear nearly invisible.

Enlightenment
  • Tails of the Fox (4 Tailed Fox)
    • First Tail
A Kitsune who has come to age and into his power, has already unlocked the First tail. This tail gifts the new Kitsune with it's natural and Spiritual abilities as a Kitsune, connecting him/her with their Fox Spirit.
    • Second Tail
The Second tail begins to enlighten the Kitsune, opening it's eyes to the energy that surrounds all things, Ki. The Kitsune is now able to see and manipulate Ki within it's own body and manifesting that energy in simple ways.
    • Third Tail
As a Kitsune develops it's third tail, it becomes aware of the massive usage of Ki, and able to manipulate it in more complex ways and patterns. This ki can also be used to manifest the Fox Spirit outside of the Kitsune's body, although they are still strongly connected. Hadyn's Ki allows for a wide variety of usage from increasing his own attributes and attacks to contributing to utility needs, able to shift into various forms.
    • Fourth Tail
The fourth tail allows Hadyn's Ki, when manifested in physical forms, to carry similar appearances and effects to that of Fox Fire.
    • Fifth Tail
This Tail has not been unlocked
    • Sixth Tail
This Tail has not been unlocked
    • Seventh Tail
This Tail has not been unlocked
    • Eighth Tail
This Tail has not been unlocked
    • Ninth Tail
This Tail has not been unlocked

Two figures clad in black cloaks, pushed through the wind torrent hills of Avelyn. It had taken several days to cut through the perpetual foothills, but they weren't inclined to turn back now. Leading, a man donning the white mask of a fox, marked in red stripes. A Kitsune from the small village of Minnit. The Second, seemed only older due to his scraggly brown beard and distinguished gray soaked eyes. A Scientist from the realm of Nightgale. Both, lost in thought and a paltry nostalgia as they drew near the now ruined village of Minnit.

"It's ironic, don't you think?" The masked man bellowed over the whipping wind. He didn't need to look back to know his partner was listening. "Returning here after all these years." He clenched his cloak tighter as the wind howled and screamed. He wanted to ask the more transparent question, but did not want to express distrust with his partner. Arsto had been researching the Red Sage and the Lost Empire for many years, and the first major clue they had received led them right back to Hadyn's home.

Arsto had no issues distinguishing Hadyn's thoughts, however. "I had my suspicions." He responded vaguely as the wind begin to weary and die. Minnit wasn't far off. "You've heard the stories of the Emerald Dreamers. You've seen the archaic tablets." There was a moment of silence. "All the clues indicate their imperishable connection to The Empire. The Red Sage was a guardian of their secrets and intermediary between The Empire and the Realm of Dreams."

Hadyn's thoughts began to escape. The Realm of Dreams. The Emerald Forest. He'd dreamed of it many times. The emerald veins of root that flowed through a timeless forest of lush green life. The solitary statues of seemingly lifeless beings he couldn't even comprehend. The stone slab that emanate a Crimson dominance. He hadn't told Arsto of his dreams, but that's all they were, right?

"It's said to be on a plane distant and distinct from anything else." Arsto continued. "What kind of creatures do you know that can practically create entire realms distant and unattainable to any insane thing that might roam the Nexus and beyond?"

"A Kitsune." The wind had almost completely died down now. Hadyn could smell the ash and mildew on the horizon. "So, that's what you were doing there that day?" His throat clammed up, even mentioning it. The day his brother died. The day all his people died. The guilt began to creep up on him like an old friend. It was his fault.

As if on cue, Arsto interrupted his thought. "It wasn't your fault. Pau's death was not on your hands. Your brother's endless torments were to blame for that." The memories came rushing back, as Arsto stared ahead at Minnit. He could almost see the clouds of fire that had once suspended over the village in anguished rage. He had rushed to stop what would happen next, but none of them realized the full extent of what was happening. "A Kitsune's reaction..." He paused. "Anyone's reaction to a loss like that would cause that kind of strife. A Kitsune, even more so. Your spirit raging in defiance like that was out of your control."

Hadyn wasn't sure if it was the conversation or something else, but his body felt heavier for it. He strained to ignore the pain as his feet fell begrudgingly against the dirt path.

Arsto continued. "But yes, that's part of the reason I was there." He pulled a tiny emerald from his pocket. The item that had led them back to Minnit. Within it's glow, time seemed to not exist, as the reflections played out. A man, composed with a stature of great power. His face could not be seen, but his demeanor spoke for itself. Strikes that left no creature in it's wake alive as he led an army against dark forces. It was obscure, but lucid once it caught your eye. A man following behind, a rugged banner hanging from his belt. The Ancient mark of an Kitsune.

"Do you think my people were once part of the Empire?" Hadyn abruptly asked.

"I'm not really sure." Arsto replied. "If they were, it seemed like they'd had died off with the rest of the Empire." Arsto regretted the comment. Except for Hadyn, there were dead.

Hadyn didn't seem to mind, even as he stopped abruptly, staring upward and then to the sides. Before Arsto could ask, a sudden surge of energy seemed to spark from Hadyn. Arsto could make out the brief outline of the Kitsune's fox spirit revealing itself as it began to break down wards that were placed around the village.

"It seems our contacts were right." Arsto grimaced, staring into the remains of the village, beyond the wards. "There must be something living up here. And if they are still right, whatever it is, is dangerous and powerful." Arsto instinctively stepped behind Hadyn. "We need to be prepared for anything."

- - - - - - - - - - -

Hadyn's eyes scanned the village as they wandered through, his golden eyes peering through the mask at his birthplace, and what felt to him like a graveyard. A sense of urgency and danger seemed to nudge him. Perhaps it was instead a sense of remorse.

Images plagued his mind as he glanced to and fro, witnessing what had become of the once proud village. To his right, women sat on a porch pressing soaked clothes against washboards and laughing. Children ran irrationally in the streets as a riled merchant pressed slowly through the packed street on his wagon. To his left, crowds of people walked the stone stairs, between beautifully designed houses painted in luminous colors, leading downward towards the lake at the bottom of the hill. From here he could see a giant stone monument, lathered in moss, peeking over the hills, an entry into the once concealed training halls of young Kitsune coming into age. He was surprised they still stood. The humans were relentless in wiping the Kitsune and everything they stood for, from the face of Avelyn.

His senses began to tingle at a novel force, that seemed to drift from the descending stairs. It was slight, but there. His feet seemed to move with an automatic tenacity. An all too familiar stride. Arsto, quietly followed.

A chorus of indistinguishable voices seem to drift up the hill as they got closer. Even Hadyn's quick ears couldn't decipher the noise. It was strange and almost melodic. They almost had a familiarity in them, that caught his attention. He was sure he had never heard sounds quite like it. He rounded a corner, coming face to face with not a creature but a memory.

Two boys stood in the road, their laughter taunting and familiar. He watched as people passed by unaware of the darkness that was just right around the corner. A young boy wandered, his hands out, reaching to grasp anything that would give him a sense of stability. The boys laughed harder, almost becoming an echo in the back of Hadyn's mind replaying over and over again as he watched the events unfold. He forced to hold down tears as the young boy screamed and cried in vain. He didn't deserve this.

The boy's hand reached out touching a wooden fence. The point of a broken fence, the only sign of ground that he could feel. He turned, fighting off the illusions of his mind. He was trying to be brave. To show his brothers he wasn't afraid. However, in an act that Haydn could only describe as horrid, a small single rock, slipped from under the boy's feet. Hadyn screamed. The boy fell. Hadyn propelled forward by an desire fix this. He couldn't stop it before but just maybe. Arsto stood watching Hadyn in a sorrowing silence.

It was too late though, Hadyn fell to his knees as he reached the impaled body of his brother. Sobbing.

"Hadyn." Arsto spoke, a fear filling his voice. "Hadyn." He said more urgently.

The Kitsune sat, knees submerged into the ground, his hands grasping for memories.

"Hadyn." Arsto spoke once more, in a solemn voice as he watched new events.

Hadyn finally looked up, his eyes gazing upon 3 gray figures, their cloaks filled with rips and dust. Their faces distorted in a darkness under their cowls as they seemed to dance in a rhythmic pattern, their words becoming like an unnerving song, that seemed to hold some archaic meaning. Hadyn stared wild eyed at the salient scene before him. He wanted to speak, but his words became like dust on his tongue.

Arsto was filled with a sense of dread. Could this be? He tried to reach back far in his memories. Memories that did not exist anymore, but for faint flashes of clarity. He could not recall their names, or their faces. He could not understand their intentions or the extent of the powers, but one word rang from the depths of his mind, a lost thought from a life long past. He spoke, his voice cold and distant. "Ancients."

As soon as they had seemingly appeared, they faded. Upon the ground where they had stood, a body lay. Immobile. Hadyn's ears twitched as he stared with concern. "I don't sense any life." He pulled himself from the ground. "He doesn't even seem to have an indistinguishable smell." The two moved closer, an almost immediate impression of familiarity falling over Hadyn, causing him to sprint toward the body.

Arsto followed, though more cautiously. Glaring down at the body, he murmured. "You remember when you asked if I found it ironic that we ended up back here?" Hadyn nodded. "A stupid question, Hadyn. You know I've never been a big believer in coincidence." His gray clad eyes reflecting the body of a young man, carrying the resemblance of a boy that has been long dead.

"Pau?" Hadyn managed to whisper, grabbing the foreign red hair of the thin shaped body. "I'm still not sensing any kind of life, Arsto." His dismay was evident.

Arsto bent toward the body, with an attempt to turn it over. It's weight was insane, even for a dead body. Hadyn, curious of his partner's intentions, forced the body over. "That's because I don't think it's alive in that sense." Arsto pondered, his fingers running across a small section of flesh on the body's lower left back. Something seemed almost carved into it's skin. I.M.P.A.Q.T. "I think it's some kind of machine."

"Like an android?" Hadyn mused with a crooked eyebrow behind his mask. He had questions, but even Arsto looked puzzled. With a sudden jerk, Hadyn's arms reached across Arsto's chest, pushing him backwards, as he pulled himself up. His hand finding the hilt of his sword.

"Who- are you?", a soft voice drifted up from open soft blue eyes of the being. It slowly began to prop itself up. Staring around. Suddenly, as it's eyes landed on Arsto, it's eyes changed to a bright yellow. "I- I know you. Don't I?"

Arsto, barely on his feet, stared back into the eyes of the being. Something oddly comforting and familiar. However, before he could say anything a strange energy formed in between the two. Reality seemed to distort within strange reflections of light. Arsto rubbed his eyes, feeling like he was seeing things, only to open them and see a strange skeletal looking figure glaring coldly back at him.

“I am Skallagrim, and you are a skilled and worthy warrior, you are invited to attend the Nexus of Worlds Tournament. When you are ready merely call my name and I shall open the gate to the Nexus of Worlds.”

Arsto was baffled. "You must be mistaken. I'm not fighter." Before he could finish his statement, the irregularity was gone.

Hadyn stood wide eyed and concerned. "Obviously, I'll fight in your place if it comes down to it, Arsto. I'm not letting some jackass who thinks he knows it all get you killed."

Arsto stared at Hadyn for a minute then back at the boy. "What's your name?"

"Isaiah.", he spoke, his eyes returning to it's original blue.

Arsto, standing fully to his feet, walked over, extending his hand to Isaiah. "The name is Arsto. My partner here is Hadyn." He said, nodding toward the Kitsune. Isaiah hesitated, then grabbed the man's hand. Arsto attempted to help pull him up, forgetting his weight. Isaiah seemed to let off a grin, finally standing himself. "I think that 'jackass' might know more than he's letting on. It's not me per say entering this tournament." He stared comfortingly at Hadyn, then turning back toward Isaiah. "It's you."

Isaiah nodded with a certainty. Within each of them, they felt an odd connection. Perhaps it was more than that. Hadyn stared even more confused.

"So, what now?" Hadyn asked.

"Well, Isaiah isn't going alone, that's for sure." Arsto grinned.

"Hell yea!" Hadyn laughed. He was still extremely confused, but he'd never turn down the chance for some action.

Isiah turned toward an open space, the two following behind him. With an sudden clamor of excitement, he spoke out, his voice ringing across the emptiness of Minnit. There was something else in his voice. He wasn't the only one speaking.

"Skallagrim! We're ready to fight!"

- - - - - - - - - - -

In a flash of light, the three found themselves standing amongst some of the greatest warriors across the multiverse. A Kitsune, A human scientist, and an A.I. of unknown proportions.

They seemed to stand in silence, as events unfolded around them. Arsto stared at Isaiah, taking in his facial features. He was unsure still what to make of this. "Hadyn. Keep your eyes open. We may have just stepped into our most dangerous mission yet." The Kitsune nodded, the aura of the fox spirit burning like a fire around him.

Hearing all the conversations going on, Arsto turned his eyes back to Isaiah.

I wonder. If he does win, what will he do with the key?
