This thread is for a series of quick battles all posted in the IC involving guns and non guns alike and the strategies involved to better deal with each threat in a realistic manner. The rules are designed to make this quick and painless (for us) in order for good practice, not focusing on story. To start a match, all you need to do is post in the OOC here asking for one and organizing it with those who are also interested, then once everyone agrees on the terms they can duke it out in the IC.

Here are the standard rules:

1. Characters are treated like NPCs. Although they cannot control your character's choice in actions, they can control things that happen to them as a result of actions against them. They can effect you character in their own post until it gets to a point where there's realistically something that can be done to change their fate, then the post changes back to you in order to deal with the situation.

EXAMPLE: They can shoot your character dead in their own post if such an event would realistically be the probable thing to occur. Let's say someone charges at you across the hallway and has little room to dodge. It's up to you to think if your character would be able to realistically hit a target in that time frame under this circumstance, and if you think they could do so then they can do so. If you grab their arm as they try to punch you, you can control them by way of forcing them into some hold that there's no avoiding at that point, but let's say they can still achieve something with their free hand such as reaching for a knife or try to do some other maneuver to brake the hold. You must allow them a post if such things could occur.

2. Just because the first rule allows you to defeat and otherwise harm opponents within your own post, it doesn't mean that you have free reign to do so. You must adhere to realism, so if you cannot both realistically and likely pull the move off then you shouldn't. You can have lucky things happen if the person effected agrees, but generally we want to practice what would logically happen if you do something so that it would be better practice for future events where you know what to expect.

3. Your character can be completely generic or totally fleshed out, but all that matters for this in realistic setting is their weapons and brief outline of physical abilities such as if they're trained with the weapon, are very strong, etc, and all average physical abilities don't need mentioning. Saying something like "I'll use a generic soldier with an assault rifle called a _______" would also work, we assume them to have the standard physical characteristics of a soldier. They must be kept to realistic human standards. Both female and male characters are held at the same standard but children being as powerful as adults is where the line is drawn. Of course if we throw in fantasy stuff than this rule can be broken and magical abilities must also be included.

4. You can come in with more than one character so long as it's agreed upon. There's no real limit, but fighting off a huge army would take a while unless a fantasy battle where the opponent can wipe out waves of people in quick attacks.

5. Characters can be posted in the character tab for easy reference and can be used more than once. No need to post a character sheet for a generic soldier if that's all you're saying. Just mention that's who you're using for the battle that's being organized. Dying in one battle doesn't stay in canon with other battles unless otherwise stated.

6. You have three days to post a reply if you're being waited on in the IC, although this number can be changed by those in the match depending on circumstances. It might be best to even make it less than 3 days, maybe even a single day or hour if we feel like it's for the best.

Guess I'll be the gun user. A dreadlocked guy with a glock pistol which he's trained in for civilian use, so decent in that respect.

I'll go first and then I'll be off somewhere else for the time being. Let's for sure not have the time limit for posting only an hour for this battle.

Either one of us can control the woman but, even though women can be as physically able as men, this one in particular can't be expected to pull out random kung fu moves on me.

Battles don't have to end in death because realistically there's plenty of situations people would rather choose flight than fight.
