Personality:
Azah is very outgoing and confident, which can often get her into trouble or end up with her saying something she would later regret more often than not. Because of her past, Azah has trouble adapting to the oppressive Oberonian culture, and will often act out of place because of this trouble. She is also a massive creature of habit, finding it troublesome to stop any routines she puts herself in. An example of a habit she has is that she often bites her fingernails when nervous.
Bio:
Azah was born in a land outside of Oberon, over a vast sea and an even more vast desert. The place she grew up in was far different from Oberon, rather than a king it had a system similar to that of the Boule in ancient Greece. Women also had many more rights, and were almost equal to men in terms of law and whatnot. The land's name was, Ayat.
Ayat was discovered by Oberon around 10 years before, Azah was born. This was when her father met her mother. It was practically a tale from a children's story book, young dashing thief meets the wealthy daughter of a ship captain and they fall in love almost immediately. Azah never believed a word of it, and she was right to. What really happened was that her mother thought her father was an idiot, but he pursued her long enough to eventually sway her into giving him a chance and things just sprouted from there.
Azah was born in Ayat during a sandstorm. It was during this storm that her mother realized her desire to return to Oberon and shortly after Azah's birth she forced her father to make plans to take them back. Azah's father, none the wiser about the laws and whatnot in Oberon was more than happy to come, thinking that they would be living in wealth with his wife's father. He was, of course, wrong. Her father wasn't actually as wealthy as he had thought, and could only afford to help buy them a house, albeit a rather large one.
They raised, Azah in that house, both getting jobs as were appropriate. Her father often snuck out to do his old thieving though, a bad habit he couldn't stop even if he tried. His habit came in handy though, it helped him teach, Azah how to defend herself and how to do a bit of sleight of hand at the same time.
Azah's life growing up was mostly bland and boring. Her mother did her best to teach her about the world and give her somewhat of an education, but it seemed to be in vain. Azah snuck out to go play by the riverbed most of the time and to be frank, her mother wasn't the best teacher.
Azah was practically forced into work at the age of 14, and became a baker's apprentice. Although she would have liked to do something more exciting like sailing or becoming a knight her parents both explained that it was impossible for a woman to do such things in Oberon. That was when Azah became determined to start a change.
