William Turner Jr.

"My name is Will Turner. My father was 'Bootstrap Bill' Turner. His blood runs in my veins."

- Will Turner addressing himself

BACKGROUND
Born as 'William Turner Jr' in Scotland, Will was conceived as an only child to his mother, Arabella Smith, and his father, Billy Turner. After his birth, he and his parents moved to the Colonies, where Billy left his wife and son to become a merchant sailor. Through unknown circumstances, Arabella moved with her son back to England, where she continued raising him by herself. At eleven, at the time of his mother's death, Will was sent an exotic trinket by his father: an Aztec medallion, remaining unaware that his father became involved in piracy. Will went searching for him by boarding a British merchant vessel, traveling to the Caribbean Sea, until it was attacked by the pirates of the Fancy, resulting him to lose the medallion in the process. As an only survivor, Will was spotted on a piece of driftwood at the coast of Port Royal in Jamaica, and was apprenticed to a local blacksmith by trade, becoming an excellent swordsman by pursuit while being unaware of his own pirate heritage.

PERSONALITY
Simple-minded and heroically determined, Will Turner can be seen as a man showing courage, nobility, cleverness, and unquestionable innocence. Never shirking responsibility as a blacksmith, Will's life has always been revolved around his work, as well as his distant longing of the father, whom he never got to meet. Rather than acting on intellect, Will is primarily driven by emotion, even though he isn't always comfortable expressing, or understanding them at a given moment. Always polite and respectful towards the high rank, Will knows his place in society, while never complaining about being low-status, although he does dream of getting a better earning, in order to live a better future. For him to even grow up without a father figure, Will looked up to role models around him, and in Port Royal, those were the British Navy; becoming a model citizen, he despises pirates, while actually looking forward into challenging one to a proper fight, if the opportunity should arise. However, for his lack of experience, Will has a terrible habit of underestimating the entire image of piracy itself, which can result him to sometimes lose a fight, as well as get himself into trouble.

Tallulah Black

"Single-shot pistol. Not much are owned."

- Tallulah Black to Will Turner after saving his life

BACKGROUND
Originally born somewhere in Haiti as Tallulah Black, "Vivienne" grew up into poverty as an only child to a single mother on the streets. When she was eighteen years old, at the time of her mother's death, Vivienne was abducted by slave traders, and was transported to an unknown island in the Bahamas, where she was tasked as a maid servant to the former pirate, Albinus, within his timber industry. As the foundation regarded on slave labor, young Vivienne befriended a lumberjack slave named Charles Vane, whom she saw as a father figure while sneaking him food rations, water, and medical treatment. One night, in her early twenties, she shot Albinus in defense, after witnessing him beat Vane nearly to death, and escaped with him to the island of New Providence, joining its growing community as pirates. There, Vivienne educated herself on the ways of being "street-smart", becoming a con artist, posing as a tavern prostitute, in order to steal high valued items from its customers. After seducing a young merchant sailor named John Silver into a one-night stand, her developed charisma stole his innocence and morality, seemingly "inspiring" him into becoming a born opportunist, a conniving liar, and a charming thief. For these new talents, she recruited Silver as quartermaster of Charles Vane.

PERSONALITY
Despite her shady background, Tallulah Black is a beautiful, cunning, strong-willed woman, who was educated into learning life's lessons on the road by her foster father, Charles Vane, after rescuing him from the servitude of the former pirate, Albinus. Switching in between hot-headed forcefulness and cool-minded compassion, Black is to be underestimated at all costs after being mentored by one of the greatest pirates in the Caribbean, eventually becoming a highly intelligent and ruthless buccaneer, who dreams for a better life through her loyalties to Vane. She takes advantage of a situation by wielding her fierce, unpredictable brawling prowess, as well as her charming influence, in order to manipulate certain events and people to win their trust. Her talent of testing other casualties was so great, she was able to bend the minds of John Silver and Abigail Ashe into becoming part of the pirate community. Since she is a prized key member of his crew, Tallulah finds it relatively difficult to disobey Vane's orders, and sometimes, it becomes hard for her to find freedom for herself from taking them. As she shows respect and a fondness for Vane, she's his only voice of reason, not being afraid to confront, question, or correct his authority, nor to tame the beast from within. Even though she holds a very deep regard for her captain, Tallulah has the weakness of giving other people, other than Vane, the best of intentions, be either ally or enemy. Since after learning about Vane's death, Tallulah's personality changes for the worse.

Abigail Ashe

BACKGROUND
Abigail Ashe was born in the Carolinas to Lord Peter Ashe and an unknown female in the 1730s. At some point in her childhood, Peter continued to raise his daughter on his own after the death of her mother at sea. Growing up, Abigail gained interest in the subject of piracy, romanticizing them as an obsession, before believing that it would be "exciting to meet a pirate." The youngest cousin of Elizabeth Swann, this eighteen-year-old's diary holds stories about her views of them being "shattered people". After she was rescued by Tallulah Black, it changed Abigail's notion of adventure forever, soon learning that all the rules she believed in, are meant to be broken.

PERSONALITY
A strong, sheltered eighteen year-old, Abigail Ashe shows great spirit, independence, and inner strength, able to retain her mental capacity from any case of trauma or isolation. Even though she blossomed into a proper young lady, she was not fond of her role as a lord's daughter; Abigail instead dreamed of a life, full of adventure, excitement, and freedom. For this, she has, at times, drove her father to distraction with her need to disregard propriety and societal boundaries, as she has made many friendships in the lower class. Much to her father's dismay, ever since her childhood, Abigail has been obsessively romanticizing on the image of piracy, having to read too many books on the subject, and gain knowledge on seamanship tactics, various pirates, and even the hallowed Pirate Code. This obsession resulted her to have a "hero-worship" attraction to Vivienne Black, mainly because of her idea of a piratical life. In Abigail's dreams of an adventurous life, she did not imagine herself being captured and held hostage. Despite this fear, she also had a little pirate in herself, according to Vivienne Black, and even though she thought she knew a lot about pirates, Abigail soon learned that all of the rules that she believed in, were meant to be broken.

Captain Charles Vane

BACKGROUND
Born from England, the vicious-tempered captain, Charles Vane, was a man known for his great financial success during the Golden Age in piracy. In his youth, Vane grew up as a child laborer, and adopted a young girl named Tallulah Black into his care. At some time in his adult life, they both escaped from captivity, and joined the growing pirate community in New Providence Island. Taken under the wing of the notorious Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, Vane was taught and trained in the ways of pirating, and eventually captained his own ship, the Ranger.

PERSONALITY
Highly intelligent, cunning, and somewhat brooding, Vane is fearless, violent, and truly the alpha-male while playing his role as captain. As one of the most brilliant and feared of all pirates, his notorious career made rivals back down as soon as he mentions his name. After the mentoring of Blackbeard, Vane's savage, animalistic maneuvers make him very resourceful and intuitive in battle, either in a sword-fight or a fist-fight. For being raised as a slave, Albinus' distinctive brand on Vane's chest permanently became a reminder of the developed animal within him; simultaneously suffering and slowly recovering from the abuse of his former slaver, Vane's unchecked hostility, still remained with him as a burden. Now, despising slavers, he longs for the life of freedom for himself and his adopted daughter, Tallulah Black, while living with a set of rules of his own. From the trauma of harsh treatment during his enslavement, Vane was psychologically under the belief of using strength and fear to lead others. Not only that, but he was also mentally affected; he would think with his fists, rather than his head, and he can turn destructive if he's on the verge of losing his temper. However, despite his impulsivity, Vane is passionate, and he can emotionally share it with people he can truly trust, like Tallulah. He can be observational of his surroundings, since he uses strategy and awareness when greatly understanding the ways of power, and he saw how vulnerable Tallulah's position was when she was a child, eventually coming to the decision of raising her as his own. However, despite the fact that each time Vane is frustrated with Tallulah, he just can't help himself in adoring her as a daughter.

Captain Edward "Ned" Low

BACKGROUND
Edward Low was a notorious English pirate during the Golden Age of Piracy, who captains the fastest ship in the Caribbean, the Fancy. Born around 1690, Edward grew up in poverty within a family of thieves in London, eventually becoming a thief himself, while his older brother, Richard, took part in other forms of criminal activity. After Richard's execution for committing burglary, Edward eventually left England, and traveled alone to Boston, Massachusetts around 1710. Four years later, he married Eliza Marble, and eventually conceived a daughter named Elizabeth. During her birth, however, Eliza died during childbirth, leaving Edward to raise his only child alone. Since the loss of his wife, he was deeply affected by grief, and he left Elizabeth behind, in order to turn to piracy. As he captured at least a hundred ships, Edward set most of them ablaze after killing everyone on board; it was around this time that Low became one of the most vicious pirates in the Caribbean.

PERSONALITY
Edward's extreme case of using cruelty and sadism proves that he is extremely sociopathic. Tales have been told that Edward Low was possessed of a tattered soul, lost to the forces of darkness; since the death of his wife, Edward was driven by grief and anger, which led him to take part in piracy. Spiraling into madness, he began to exhibit symptoms of an antisocial personality before constantly using fear and violence in order to gain power and control among others. To add to this, Edward blatantly disregards social norms, as well as the law, having absolutely no qualms into using intimidation upon them, and he sickly enjoys using torture and punishment upon his victims, from captured prisoners, to members of his own crew. He would keep trinkets of his victims as trophies, and put them on display.

Long John Silver

BACKGROUND
John Silver, also known as Long John Silver, has been a mystery to many, and while being Charles Vane's quartermaster, he doesn't exactly look like the kind of person to harmfully approach, although no one has ever actually examined his true intentions. A lowly sailor turned pirate recruit, not much was known about Silver's early life, although there have been rumors about him being abandoned at a young age until he was taken to St. John's Home for Poor Orphan Boys. After he was released, Silver took his first job as a merchant sailor in Tortuga, until he transitioned himself into a cook after being insinuated into the crew of Charles Vane, where he met the pirate, Vivienne Black, whom he admitted to having "stirrings" in terms of feelings for. Even though they have a somewhat equal friendship during their time together, the charming Vivienne "stole" John's innocence, supposedly corrupting him into a born opportunist, storyteller, a liar, and a thief. For his uncanny talents, he was eventually elected as quartermaster.

PERSONALITY
John Silver may appear as a questionable coward, but his easygoing mannerisms gave him the advantage to keep his cool, whenever finding himself in a critical situation. Very intelligent and charming with an in-depth knowledge of human nature, Silver spent most of his life being an occasionally devious, carefree commoner, who always looked out for number one, while being resentful towards authority of any kind. Once he crossed paths with Tallulah Black, he was accidentally sucked into the pirate world, since her advice influenced him into becoming a born opportunist, a conniving liar, and a resourceful thief: all traits of a worthy pirate. After gradually caring more about the crew than himself, and they respected him, quickly electing him as Quartermaster; no one other than Tallulah has gained influence faster than Silver.
