[IC] The Hobbit/LotR: There And Back Again (Elvenqueen and Megara)

"Lookout!" shouted Dwalin in warning as the group were cornered on a bridge. The king goblin blocked one path off it, and a mob of the other goblins the other side.
"You thought you had escaped me!" the goblin king sneered mockingly. "Well, what are you going to do now, wizard?!" he challenged, eyeballing Gandalf.

Gandalf frowned and said "well...I think I will do this!" He slammed his staff on the ground and Serena said "crap...I know where this is going. Everyone grab something!"

With surprised shouts, the dwarves all grabbed the nearest thing they could-the sides of the bridge or each other, in many cases, as the bridge rumbled and shook, knocking the goblin king off balance.

Serena pulled Bane to the side and grabbed Thorin and held them both as the bridge shook. When it was over Gandalf nodded and said "That will do...shall we get out of here then?" Serena nodded, looking at Thorin. She looked around then reached down and picked something off the ground. She looked around and said "Thorin, I think you dropped this?" She held up the key, the string having snapped in the chaos.

Thorin blinked and took it from the mage, nodding his thanks as he tucked it safely into his pocket. "Thank you." hurrying ahead he called. "Quickly now, I think I see something up ahead!"
"Uh, Gandalf..." Kili called nervously as he looked behind them to see the sea of angry goblins charging towards them.

Gandalf nodded and said "It will be alright, we just need to get to the opening" Serena turned sharply and said "Get moving! I'll handle it!" Bane grabbed two of the dwarfs and jumped thru the opening while Serena faced the hoard and started to mutter softly, her staff glowing as she did so.

"Go, go!" Thorin growled, nudging Gloin and Oin along after the other dwarves as they obediently scrambled through the opening. Once everyone else was through, Thorin gave one last glance back towards Serena before jumping out of the opening himself. The dwarves kept running down the mountain side until the slope had evened out somewhat and they could slow down to catch their breath. "Is everyone here?" Thorin asked, out of breath, as he tried to count who was there with him. In all the chaos that had ensued in the goblin tunnels, none of the dwarves seemed to have noticed that Bilbo was missing, until now.

They heard a huge crash and Serena ran back, dust floating behind her. "That takes care of them..." Gandalf was counting then said "wait, who are we missing?" Bane looked around and said "Oh no...where is Bilbo? Was he with us at all?"

"I think I saw him slip away, back when they first collared us." Nori spoke up.
"Well why didn't you say anything?!" snapped Thorin angrily at the other dwarf.
"Well, I thought he was with Dori!"
"Don't blame me!" Dori protested indignantly. "I'm tired of being the hobbit-sitter!"

The dwarf prince growled angrily. "Well, that's it then. Master Baggins saw his chance and he took it! He has thought of nothing but his armchair and his warm hearth since we first left! We won't be seeing 'our hobbit' again, he's long gone!"

Serena looked around and said "I don't believe that..." Then they heard foot steps and a voice said "actually I'm right here" bane jumped as Biobo appeared behind him, bane grabbing a tree to stay up right. "Dang it Hobbit!" Bilbo looked at Thorin and said "I'm still here. I tried to catch up with you but got into a bit of trouble so I came out here to wait for you..."

"But how did you get past all those goblins?" asked Fili, amazed that the hobbit had managed to escape all on his own when the rest of the company had needed Serena and Gandalf's help to get out.

He played with something in his pocket and said "well I am a bugler...I just slipped out of sight...that's all" Serena eyed him, feeling something wasn't right, the same feeling Gandalf had

"Well, it doesn't matter, does it?" asked Balin. He was just glad the hobbit hadn't been hurt. "He's back now."
"It does matter!" Thorin growled stubbornly as he walked towards Bilbo. "I want to know..." he paused for a long moment as he looked at the hobbit before asking, "why did you come back?"

Bilbo took a deep breath and said "I want to help you get your home back. I have my books and my chair and my garden...but you all have lost that. And I understand now why its so important to you...and I want to help you get your home back so you have somewhere to call home again..." Bane smiled as Serena rested a hand on Bilbo's shoulder. "Bane and I understand that too, Thorin Oakinshield...we both have lost our homes...and we want to help you as well. Fate brought us all together for one reason...and we are with you all the way" Bane nodded, holding his busted shoulder. "Agreed. I may not have long in this life and I want to make it worth while...and helping you get your home back sounds like a noble cause as well"

Thorin couldn't help but smile, and feel thankful that they were so willing to help his company when they had barely even met, really. "Thank you-" he began to say, but was stopped as he heard the howl of a Warg in the distance. Lifting up Orcrist again, he muttered. "Out of the frying pan..."

Bane pulled his blade free as Serena muttered "And into the fire...come on, we have to move" Gandalf ran with them as they headed forward, Bane grabbing Bilbo with his good arm. Bilbo looked at him and said "Bane, are you going to be alright?" Bane nodded and said "Yes, just need a free moment to fix my shoulder...it will be fine until then" Serena ran by Thorin and said "The Pale Orc that king was talking about...he didn't mean the one from the fall of the lonely mountain did he?"

"The very same." Thorin growled grimly as they ran. "Azog the Defiler. But that filth died of his wounds long ago. He is not alive, I refuse to believe it!"

"Run them down!" the Pale Orc ordered his pack in Black Speech, pointing with his mace down at the fleeing company.

Serena turned and said "Thorin...how sure are you of that fact..." Bane turned and held his blade up, letting Bilbo go. "Get moving! I'll hold them off as long as I can!" Gandalf looked around and saw they were trapped. "Up the tree quickly!"

"Climb, you fools!" Thorin shouted to the other dwarves, not having time to answer Serena's question as they scrambled up into the branches, with the Warg pack bore down on them swiftly. Some stopped to engage Bane's challenge while the rest slipped past and began leaping up at the trees, their jaws snapping as they tried to grab at the dwarves and drag them back down.

"Drink their blood!" Azog shouted out.

Bane cut them down the best he could, Serena running to the tree and started stabbing the creatures and cutting them so they would face her. She pulled her staff free and said "Come on! I deal with nightmares compared to you! Come face me!" Gandalf helped the others up the tree, looking worried. "Even with their help we are out numbered..."
