Its intriguing but there is only a vague story structure in the description so far, and doesnt have a wow factor for me. Id be afraid of bland posts and no unified direction if thats all were going off of. We may even have more fun with a Fallout fan fic imo. However, it looks like direction is what youre trying to gain by collaborating in this thread. So ill sit in the shadows and wait!

I joined one of these a while back called Overgrown. It had the same "survive and do your own thing, don't get shot by a crazy person." It didn't last very long because, face it, people can only good off in a sandbox for so long before it gets boring. You need a story/goal/objective/means to an end. The idea is that we can goof off, but can actually do something if/when that gets boring.

I have a handful of ideas if you're interested.

I also think there should be some sort of goal/story aspect to it. As well as having the freedom to do whatever, there'll be a quick Thirst of activities in no time, but trying to be forceful here.

And please let me get this straight when I say it's just a standard Apocalypse, nothing too special to it?

@LetMeDoStuff It's not 'standard' like a nuke or zombie outbreak, not even a death virus. Just nature and its grindstone finally bringing humanity down to size. Medication and biochemistry can no longer keep us in good health - the common cold become a threat, more dangerous ailments became deadly as our bodies - having weaker immune systems due to our use of drugs - cannot deal with the pressure.

Those who live are those who are naturally immune and resistant - the world is now as it once was, governed by chance and evolution. Plant life has taken back most of the land and wildlife has become balanced as predators and prey are now free to roam rather than domesticated or farmed.

Perhaps (and all that follows is just brainstorm) a common goal for one person is to find someone they believe to still be alive. The goal for a small town may be to find enough fuel to start the back up generators. A secretive corperation may still be active somewhere in the world - I kidnapping the immune and using them to their benefit.

The world has never and will likely never have an over bearing goal that everyone aims for, but as the RP's title suggests it is to recover and restore some form of civilisation and community across the globe.

Good, I was hoping for something less Over-saturated. Count me still interested.

Finding someone could be good...Maybe what we could do is have Characters use their sort of own Common Goals, like them having personal business, which could either tie up with another Character's or have them each go one by one, depending on who ends up meeting who, or something?

So essentially a Sims/slice of life RP with a slightly altered environment. For any success, we will need an "it" factor. Are we being hunted and kidnapped by a secret society that are still controlling what happens in the world. Do we uncover a conspiracy that led to all this when we run into John F. Kennedy in the flesh during a ruin delve. Does global warming run its course and it becomes like the movie Waterworld with Kevin Costner? We need something other than day to day activities of a town of broken souls.

@DarthSeverus394 this isn't Sims for a start, there are people out there who haven't eaten for weeks and will rip your throat with their teeth if they can only get a soup can.

Like I said, throw some fuel on the fire for ideas.

There will be fighting, conflicts of both physical and social nature.

Please don't label this RP before it even begins. I have been minimal with my tags and explanation this far so that any interest can be used to shape the world some what.

One question I have is about weapons. I know the world crumbled in a year from now, but if the RP takes place 20 years after that, will there be possibility for weapons that are unusual? Like hand crafted two bladed daggers, guns upgraded with interesting additions (think Fallout), or even a wooden plank with rusty nails added to it.

@RaeoftheLight Even weapons have a 'use by date' so a pristine automatic rifle will be near impossible to come across in anywhere but an abandoned military base. However, ratchet and homemade weapons will be far from sparse - metal may rust and wither with time but steel is particularly durable.

Handguns etc while not common are certainly not rare by any stretch. I would think also that the upkeep and maintenance of such weapons would be emphasised and key during these times - thus maybe the reason why they are not used by everyone/ why they are still around to date.
