Hey guys, just got back from a little run. Glad to see a good Reggie post happened while I was gone.
@Loony Yeah, that's how I felt too. I'm pretty sure Rebecca has said that strictly speaking gems don't have genders, it's just they pretty much all appear in a way humans would perceive as female, but I don't think she's ever specifically said that there are no gems with masculine traits.

Yeah, now I'm sure that Calyx Spinel and Origninal Eve would have gotten along great. Ughhh I maintain that I'm not that sad that the RP itself failed but there were some characters from it that I really hope I'll still get to use someday.

@Loony HMM, well, do we have any confirmation that Talc was actually born in the Kindergarten? I don't remember. Maybe the word disposable has something to do with why he's actually there.
And that's kind of funny, and another way in which our writing styles are similar. So Spinel isn't much like Original Eve, but still in some ways a little similar to Current Eve. They probably would have been nope buddies if I hadn't taken Spinel in the direction she's going now. Original Eve actually sounds kind of like Original Original Spinel, now that I think of it. The version of Spinel from Thing That Will Not Be Named was really loyal to homeworld to start off with too, but wasn't always intended to be that way.

@Akayaofthemoon My headcanon: Aqua, Eve and Spinel are now part of a new group, the Cave Trio.
@Loony I dunno, I guess I just intended Original Spinel to be similar in the "I don't honestly want anything to do with this I just want to go off and do my own thing bye." kind of way. It kind of shows early on, like how she repeatedly lied about being a literal ghost in an attempt at getting everyone to leave so she could be alone in the Kindergarten. I didn't get much of a chance to show that side of her though, because like I said ever since their fusion Aquamarine's concern for her friends in that moment became Spinel's.
And oh gosh, bribing Sodalite to stand near Eve and pretend to be super scared as soon as Spinel does something stupid might someday be Spinel's best spook.
