Sector 11: "The Slums"

It was dark, cramped. The streets ran wet with both water, and with liquids one not dared think of the origin of. Shadows stretched across the narrow streets, thrown out by barely standing hovels. Broken, often dirty glass stood in the windows, and sat strewn about the street. People, some sick and dying, others simply driven mad by their circumstances sat huddled in the dry corners and shadows while skinny, sickly children scurried about. Eyes peered out as one who did not belong strode through. A splash of color in the dark, disease ridden slums. An interesting character made their way through, dressed nearly entirely in blue, with eyes and hair to match. The large sword they carried, was more akin to one carried by a wandering hero. The kind of person who brought hope to the downtrodden, such as those that lived here.

But, there would be no such heroics from this one. Their would be nothing but disgust as she examined the new area she found herself in. Disgust at the stench of what was presumably disease ridden corpses, hidden just out of sight. At the wet streets and dirty children. And, especially at the huddled masses. Intimidating red lightning arced off of her, remaining around her as it danced around the coat she wore. She wasn't sure entirely how she had ended up in such a place. Nor, where this place was exactly. A quick glance at the sky would tell her nothing. And clearly, the people here wouldn't be any help. After all, they couldn't even help themselves out of the situation life had put them in. What all was there to make her think they could be of any assistance? No, they were worthless. Not even worth the time it took to register their existence.

All there was for her to do here, presumably, was to keep going. Where there were slums, there was a larger city. Broader, brighter horizons for her to exploit and manipulate. Information, knowledge for her to gather. And, more then likely a large amount of interesting subjects with which she could play many, many fun games with. But none of that would be found here. Even the best, most moral people had a tendency to forget, or outright ignore places like this. The supposed heroes of the medium barely registering it on their radar. She supposed that, knowing this place existed could help her, if only a tiny bit. Good guys were suckers for human suffering when it was pointed out. Even if they couldn't be bothered any other time. She would smile to herself at the thought. Indeed, this would be a very interesting time.

Just got off college. So I get to make first post soon. Woo.
