Little one: because of his frame he was usually called this because most benders in the family were particularly large. When you compare him to his brothers he looks like the odd one out.

"The Appearance..."
He stands at 5'5 while all his brothers and father stand well over six foot. A trait he inherited from his mother. Light tanned skin, small frame, muscled but not noticeable unless shirt is off. His hair is dark brown and his eyes are milky white due to his blindness.

Like the picture, clothes like that are comfortable to him.

Strengths:
Because he was born blind his body developed the ability to see by heightening his sensitivity to feel vibrations. And his hearing is uncanny, able to hear things that normally can't be heard by anyone.
Weaknesses:
Because of his life he has grown overly independent, to the point he doesn't like help from others and gets angry when people try. Being called helpless or told he can't do something infuriates him. He continually tries to work on over coming this but it has proven to be a hard thing to over come.

Personality:
Ruan is a quiet man who listens more than speaks. When he does speak he speaks volumes in few words. He has a sense of wisdom beyond his years, due to his training and overcoming his blindness. What he lacks in muscle he makes up in intellect, having spent many hours listening to scholars, poets, story tellers. He finds knowledge his comfort, being able to apply it to all cases, which helped him over come his weakness in seeing and make it a strength.

He likes to be alone usually but it doesn't make him a hermit. He likes to strengthen his mind and his body constantly to become more one with himself and to be more independent.

History:
Ruan was born blind. A sad day for Wei family due to blind people really did not have a life. But very soon they came to realize he wasn't helpless. They began to notice he would look in the direction they would walk. As if he was watching them but obviously he couldn't see when they tried to give him something. The elders of the village told the family he was blessed by the badger mole to see through the vibrations of the world. And he will have an talent for earth bending.

As soon as he was old enough he began his training under private study. Since he would learn how to earth bend slightly different from the norm, and was way ahead of his learning curve. But his studies didn't end there, he studied other styles of bending hoping to adapt it to earth to become more knowledgeable in his art.

He soon became a master of earth bending taking on the name of Master Badger from his students which he began to teach around the age of 18. Teaching people his own age even.

Other:
Raka, the Raccoon-Squirrel on his shoulder, is his friend and helper even though he can get around by himself very well. Raka helps when ever he can by retrieving things. Or providing company, think of him as a seeing eye dog....but raccoon squirrel

"I do," she looked at him for a moment, holding his gaze, "You aren't going to convince me otherwise by denigrating me... So... please... stop with the sneering. Your unwillingness to make this work isn't going to make this work and this not working isn't going to change my mind...." She pleaded him softly with her eyes, "Please, don't be mad at me..."

He watched her for a moment before turning away, "I wasn't sneering." HE glanced back and said, "When my hand is forced I'm not going to be happy about it. Specially when you could get killed." He walked into the shadows. "Just be careful will ya? It's going to be double hard to cover your butt as well as mine. Remember this.... this life isn't as fun as you think it as...as you already have been finding out. We will have to kill these people so we don't get pointed out. You cant hesitate or your dead. Can you do that?" as he walked behind a wall and started to climb a drain pipe to get a better position to drop down on them.

"Hello! B E A Utifull morning isn't? I just heard the news!" As the man got to the bottom of the steps and places a hand to cover his mouth as if being discrete "Word spreads fast the new Avatar is here. which one is it?" He looked at them all with a Big smile on his face and continued. "Oh goodness me forgive me I am rude, My name is Han Li, I'm sure you've heard of me? Champion Fighter here offering my services to the Avatar. Though...." the man looked up at him. "Seems you got a fierce one already. Northern tribe special forces it seems. Hard to miss they are huge. " He was impressed. the man Could tell just by looking at him. He had to be a good enough fighter to tell that off the bat. But he knew that had to be so with a man like Han Li. No he wasn't from the city but he did study other kingdoms and styles, something you kinda had to do when you were in his position to stay ready for anything. Han nodded, "I would love to spar with you some time sir. " He offered his hand and Zhou took it and he shook it. 'Perhaps one day" Zhou said to Han while he looked at the others. "May I join your group?"

He glanced at Zenji as she said, "Han Li," she spoke the name as if she were testing it out, "Never heard of you..." He was surprised she didn't as he was sure Han was as well. but she continued and he totally agreed with what she had to say/. "It is up to you if you want more help.. but we should go... Now..."

"I... Um..." He failed the first time to speak and took a short breath. "What element do you bend? Right now we're lacking in an earth bender, and it'll be the second element that I- the avatar needs to learn." Zhou was again surprised, this man was a legend in the Republic city as a champion. in a world of bending and martial arts its hard not to hear of someone of great skill. these two must have been living under some rocks.

The young fire bender looked to his teammates with a cautious expression and glanced over to Han Li. After a short moment of looking at them, he returned his attention to this new person who had asked to join their group. "Do you bend an element? As I said, our team just needs and earth bender now, and then we'll be all good to go."

Han took a step back with a shocking look on his face. "People that don't know me? Well that's Refreshing, a little weird but refreshing." He looked Masuto in the eye and said, "No I can't bend young Avatar. But I've fought the best of them, and I've learned from the masters of them. I know each style like the back of my hand, it's what I live for young master. I can teach you each style of bending if you so wished. though I can't bend it I know the movements which you benders can do the rest with. I am also a master of Chi flow... and if we were to run into some over powered Rouge benders I can nip them in the bud before they become a problem."

He waited a moment and continued touching on the concerned look on the boys face. "I know you must be wondering why I suddenly appeared" He rose his hands and bobbed his head side to side for a moment but continued with a smile. "Word spreads fast when you see the White Lotus ALL together in BROAD DAYLIGHT. that usually doesn't happen... and when you have connections like I do. I get news pretty darn quick."

He waited another moment and got serious. "Besides the little lady is right we better move on and get out of here. From what I've heard the Rouge benders have gotten pretty strong in this town despite what the police are doing. being lead by a dynamic duo that are pretty cold... and have resulted in the death of MANY Airbenders." he looked to Zenji. a moment before to Masuto again, "They are not going to like the Avatar raining down on their parade. No you would be a fool not to accept my help. If I know you are here they will know and they are going to descend like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat before you get anystronger. And four of you wont hold out..." He looked at Zhou. "He might." But your chances to have your backs covered with me?" He pointed a thumb at himself. "It's doubled."

Zhou looked at Masuto and said, "He is a great fighter. it would be a great asset to the group to have someone of his caliber."

Han smiled and said, "Thank you my good sir!"

"Despite him talking to much.... I think it's worth it."

Han only smiled more. "Yeah I talk to much when I'm excited....obviously. "

With that Zhou only sighed and looked to Mizuki who hadn't said anything

She watched as Han walked up to the house and spoke quietly, "He isn't as charming as he thinks he is...."

he looked back at her from the corner of his eye." He does have a mob of girls chase him all around...." Though he was slightly glad she said that. He would never say it but he cared deeply for her and over the years of how close they gotten he did get jealous from time to time with her and other guys. and with what happened earlier Zhou couldn't help but get even more jealous and mad.

As they watched though he sighed and shook his head mentally She already knew he was mad... And He didn't want to bring it up why he was. And he knew she would ask more and more till she got it out of him. So despite what he felt he pushed his anger down and away said softly, "I never thought I'd be hunting down the Avatar and his group....Sometimes this seems like we are fighting an uphill battle we cant win...and I'm getting tired of it..."
