You're so mean to me!
Suddenly, Eva's captor left her behind, not forgetting to threaten her before leaving. As if she could do a thing to escape in a sunny car with her hands helplessly locked behind her back! She slumped back in her seat, glancing at the officers pointing their guns are her from outside. She was such a pitiful excuse for Gifted!

By the sounds of things, another of her kind had approached. But what did that matter? No one was going to be able to challenge all these officers at once and live. Either the newcomer would die or join her. There was no point in hoping to be rescued. None whatsoever.

The only relief was that the absence of the Warden meant she could allow her tears to flow down her cheeks without having to talk about it. At first, it was her intention to do so discretely, but tears quickly turned into sobs, which were accompanied by pitiful whimpering. She was going to end up in an even worse hell than she had been in back at home, and there was nothing she could do about it! Or perhaps she would be killed for not knowing enough to satisfy the Warden... in either case, her life was over.
@ArkmageddonCat Monster...
O.O Noooo, I'll tell you everything I know, I promise!
@TheDarkTemplar

You were fine. =p I have no idea what info Pariah thinks she can get Eva from, though! Eva doesn't know anything useful. XD
I suppose not... dismissing the servants would alert the guards that something is up o.o
Poor Eva! Whatever will happen to her, I wonder!
Some aspects of Vivian's plans were risky, but that couldn't be helped. Any escape plan was bound to be.

"Let's try it," I said cautiously, making a note to myself to email the invitation to the Team Leader. I was in no hurry to visit him in person, not after he had threatened me. In truth, I was considering killing him myself if he ended up asleep at the table. Any oaf who threatened me deserved nothing but suffering!

"Just how strong are your pills?" I asked. It was possible that some of my servants were loyal to a third party and would be inclined to wake up my guards if they could. I had no intention of letting such scum endanger my plan. If things went poorly, I had to be prepared to kill everyone here, perhaps even Vivian. The entire mansion might go up in flames. I had to place my trust in the necklace - with its help, any amount of destruction was within reach.
I should have just let that guy rob me.

Judging by the sound of the frantically approaching footsteps, I was surrounded. And, here, in the middle of a sunny road, I really had no chance of defending myself. That meant I had a maximum of two choices: die or surrender.

If they didn't outright kill me, what would they do? Enslave me? The thought was intolerable. But I didn't want to die, not yet, not before I had even experienced a life of true, complete freedom. I had to take my chances. Occasionally, Gifted were rescued from DMA captivity, weren't they?

So, on the verge of tears, I pulled myself to my feet, weakened by the sun's oppression, and opened the door of the car. Officers were everywhere, and a scary looking woman was pointing her gun right at me. A Warden?

The gun was still in my pocket... the thought of grabbing for it in an attempt to kill the woman was incredibly tempting. But I wasn't stupid enough to try that out in the sun. So instead, I just held up my hands as if this were a movie, feeling foolish and pathetic. The bluffs I had been considering up until this point seemed childish in light of the sheer numbers of my foes.

I felt weak, even more so than was usual in the sun. I leaned against the car for support, waiting to see whether I would be allowed to keep living.
