“Kat” – has become the preferred name of one Katsuya Bogdani  because the masculine act of shorting the name to remove formality coupled with the feminine connotations of the nickname itself acts as a reflection of Katsuya’s androgyny; however, an equally viable scenario is that as a non-binary youth growing up in such an inhospitable place as Pittsburg  the nickname “Kat” is an unfortunate byproduct of juvenile bullying by immature peers coupled with the intrinsic national desire to Americanize foreign sounding names. However, when asked about the origins of the nickname Katsuya has been known to weave conflicting tales in order to perpetuate the air of mystery that surrounds her.

|In Depth Appearance|
With a name like Katsuya there are certain intrinsic expectations one might have of the person possessing this name  however,  in this case the name itself acts as a façade and nothing could prepare you for the bearer’s actual appearance.  Identifying as an androgyne Katsuya has crafted her image to resemble the penultimate juxtaposition of masculine and feminine; so even upon closer inspection it is hard to tell if Katsuya is a flat chested girl or merely an effeminate looking boy.  Katsuya has retained some oriental features despite being a child of an interracial marriage, though her pale skin is a product of seventeen years exposed to Pittsburg’s grueling  winters coupled with an aversion to any outdoor activity rather than any genetic symptom.  Katsuya is also rather petite standing at five feet ten inches and weighing only one hundred and five pounds;  Katsuya takes pride in this as to her it is a physical representation of her androgyny.  Another thing about Katsuya that one might notice is her teal dyed hair, but that is not a permanent feature as Katsuya changes the color of her hair every couple months as keeps people on their toes per say.

Katsuya has packed a variety of different clothing options ranging from the tried-and-true tshirt and jeans combo to more formal dresses; being one that values spontaneity Katsuya made sure to pack a plethora of clothing related options. A special outfit in Katsuya’s wardrobe is a silk kimono weaved by her mother, needless to say that this rose-blossom tinted garment is only worn in moments of reverence.

Katsuya is disrespectful of any type of authority and feels like a hierarchy only hampers her ability to express herself as she sees fit at any given moment; this is problematic when working with others as she thrives off of subverting other’s expatiations of her.   She is also to coin a fitting phrase an enigma wrapped in a riddle coated in enigma sauce because for example at times she can be blissfully unaware of social graces yet at the same time strive to challenge these conventions. Katsuya lives to pursue her passions regardless of the risks involved and coupled with her need for the admiration of  this is a most dangerous concoction; an unnecessary theatrical risk outweighs simply finishing the task at hand with no incidents. Her eccentricity has a certain charm about it and she is adapt at finding the right compliment to break the resolve of those that would call her out; however, any criticism that is laid against her no matter how benign affects her on a personal level and she cannot help seeing it as an unwarranted attack.

|History|
Katsuya’s was born to a family of immigrants; her father left Albania in 1991 disgusted with  rampant corruption ushered in by reformism, while her mother arrived from Japan in the late eighties to pursue a career in avant-garde theater and escape from her traditionalist parents back home.  Her father’s career as a one of the tristate area’s few Lacanian psychoanalysts coupled with his  belief in the democratic family greatly influenced Katsuya’s upbringing in as far as it allowed her to develop in a rather liberal environment without the fear of punishment or judgement;  in layman’s terms Lacanian psychoanalysis teaches that the human subject is created through social interaction and one must learn to vanquish the narcissistic illusions of the self, so in order not to deprive the child of important psychological development the Bogdani household was open to anybody and everybody. Therefore young Katsuya was raised amongst an endless stream of drifters, vagabonds, her father’s patients, wayward leftists, and so. This rotation of faces from all walks of life affected the young child especially those that belonged to her mother’s theater troupe; it was possible the repeat viewing of these neo-cabaret performances that allowed the child the enlightenment needed to appreciate the harmonious symmetry between the sexes and eventually identify as an androgyne.  
School life has not been particularly easy for Katsuya and she has been the target of many a bully, yet she learned to endure by perpetuating a front of detachment and unpredictability; as an admitted attention-seeker and in constant need of an audience Katsuya is not above carrying out overly dramatic revenge schemes much to the chagrin of her father who believes she should rise above such ideology.  Katsuya enjoys reveling in her sexual freedom, but deep downs she fears forming an emotional connection to someone else as that opens the door to complacency.  
Katsuya’s enrolled in Camp Liberty this year after being spurred on by her father recounting a long-winded story about his own years toiling in the Communist Youth building bunkers back in Albania and how the profound the experience was; the rugged allure of camp life always piqued Katsuya’s interest and she always enjoyed the prospect of implanting herself on a stranger’s psyche…according to popular culture no one forgets camp memories, thusly it was decided that she would attend camp this year if only for the sentimental value. Katsuya was drawn to Team Grey for its non-hierarchal structure and laid back nature.
