CLINT BARTON|SCOTT LANG ♦ UNEMPLOYED|ELECTRICIAN ♦ LOS ANGELES ♦ VIGILANTES
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
"I tried playing golf yesterday. Eighteen holes and I got a total score of eighteen. I just can't seem to miss."
In this story of Hawkeye and Ant-Man I will be starting at the very beginning of their heroic life. Clint Barton's early life will be exactly the same. He even still chooses to emulate Iron Man by dressing up and using his skills to fight crime. Unfortunately for him, the police mistook him for another weirdly dressed up thief. He tries to write this misconception but is found by William Cross who blackmails him using the information of Clint's time with Tiboldt's Circus. Crossfire brings him and a few others together in order to steal the Seismo-Bomb.
Scott Lang's life up to this point is also very similar. About a month after being released from prison, Scott's daughter Cassie was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition. Between the money that Scott and his ex-wife were making they couldn't muster up the cash to pay for medical bills. Desperate to help his daughter Scott turned back to crime. He lied saying that he simply received a pay raise and in the meantime, they have been able to pay for medical bills. But one night coming back from a haul Scott is confronted by Crossfire who desires the use of Scott's skills. At first, Scott refuses but Crossfire shows him pictures of Scott breaking into various places effectively blackmailing Scott into helping Crossfire and a few others in stealing the Seismo-Bomb.
During the heist, both Clint and Scott realize the other doesn't want to go through with this, and over the course of events, the two stop the heists alerting those who had the bomb of the villain's presence. The police eventually show up but Crossfire gets away while the rest of his crew get arrested including Scott. He tells them that Crossfire was threatening him but as he is an ex-convict they don't believe him. Clint works to find proof but can't find any. Scott is eventually let out on bail which his ex-wife, Maggie, pays for and which was only posted as he did help get the others caught. Maggie doesn't know if she believes Scott and despite helping him out if threatening to fight for full custody of her.
The two both know that since Crossfire escaped it was likely that he'd be coming for them. Scott also reinvigorates his desire to clean up his act. So, in the meantime, they decide to team up to watch each other's backs as well as using what they know to help people and maybe figure out who hired Crossfire.

Both Clint and Scott are thieves with hearts of gold. They want to help people but because of their pasts, they keep getting dragged into various messes that alone neither would be able to get themselves out of. I've always thought that the small parallels between the two was quite interesting but never really thought much of it until now.
I have always thought a pairing of these two would be quite interesting as they are both loud-mouthed numbskulls with no powers yet do what they can despite themselves for the greater good. The first story arc they have will involve Crossfire and they will be trying to figure out who hired him. Along the way, they will do battle with various low-tier villains slowly uncovering the over-arching story as they go along just like the CW. I have more 'season' ideas planned out but for now the plan of season one for "Hawkeye and the Ant" starts here.

Hawkeye himself. As a child, Clint and his brother Barney had it rough. Their father was an alcoholic who'd occasionally get rough. Barney would teach Clint how to fight and helped him improve his aim. When they were young both of their parents died and the boys would go from foster home to foster home until they encountered and subsequently joined a circus. As a member of the circus, Clint would hone his skills as an archer and would eventually be brought in to the crime side of the circus joining them in various crimes. He eventually grew to hate being a criminal and then one day he saw a news report of the hero Iron Man. It struck some inspiration in him and that's his story.
Scott Lang was born and raised in Coral Gables, Florida, the son of Bob Lang. He later became an electronic engineer and met and married Maggie Rae. Together they had a daughter Cassandra "Cassie" Lang. Although he was an electronics expert he could not support his family doing repair work, so he turned his talents to burglary. Apprehended, he served his prison sentence and was paroled for good behavior. During his time in prison, however, Maggie divorced him. Lang had furthered his studies of electronics while in prison and once he got out somehow found a job as an electrician at Stark Industries. Soon after, his daughter fell ill will a terrible heart disease. After this is where the story will happen.
The ex-wife of Scott Lang and mother of Cassie Lang. Maggie and Scott met in college and they had a very stereotypical romance. After college, they got married and had Cassie. When Maggie discovered that Scott had resorted to stealing she tried to get him to stop. When he was arrested she was hurt that he didn't listen to her. She divorced him but wouldn't do anything to try and separate Scott and Cassie and once he got out she willingly let Cassie stay with him every other week. However, after this recent arrest, she says she is going to fight to take full custody if he doesn't stop committing crimes.
Cassie Lang is the daughter of Scott and Peggy. Despite what Scott does she still adores him. Largely in part to the fact that he's the quote-unquote, nice parent. She does genuinely get along with him better tending to have a lot of similar likes and personality traits. Recently she has been afflicted with a congenital heart condition and has to take medication in between waiting for her parents to be able to afford surgery. She often has to stay at the hospital in case her situation becomes worse.
Other characters will go here as and when they’re introduced.
S A M P L E P O S T:
Scott was pooped. He was happy for this job at Stark Industries but it was hard work. Having to walk up five flights of stairs to his apartment late at night didn't help. He finally made it to the door and upon opening it instantly shut the door. "Ugh! What is that smell?" He plugged his nose opening the door back up, "Clint. What on earth are you doing?"
"Clint?" He slowly walked into the apartment grabbing the bat from behind the door and slowly inched his way towards the living room from which the smell resonated. His heart started beating and he saw a pair of legs sticking off the side of the couch. He inched as close as he could without alerting whoever it was and then jumped out yelling. Clint who was sleeping feet up on the couch woke up screaming as well as the three puppies near his face waking up and barking at Scott.
Clint quickly got to his feet and stared absentmindedly at Scott as he started to try and piece together what was going on. "Clint, you know I love dogs but why are there three of them here and please tell me that smell didn't come from them."
Clint looked at the three little dogs and took a deep breath of the air nearly gagging at the smell. He must have been asleep longer than he realized. "Well, I was out dealing with your average everyday bank robbers and to be honest they were easier to deal with than normal. So, after I subdued them and left them for the cops I decided to roam around town waiting to see if anything else would pop up. And whattaya know I come across this box with the cutest most sweetest puppies you ever darn did see and they gave me those trademarked puppy dog eyes and I just had to bring them here."
Scott groaned shaking his head. "I'm not supposed to have pets in this apartment let alone three! You almost count as a pet at this point. Mrs. Garcia will kill me, evict me, and then kill me again if she ever finds out. You are going to clean up this mess and take those dogs to a pound in the morning while I get some sleep. No please this time."
'63s in progress at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Louise Avenue. Assistance requested.'
"Oh uhh, did ya hear that. Duty calls. Go ahead and get started without me I'll be right back." Clint quickly threw on some clothes and hopped out the window to the fire escape not even taking his bow. "CLINT! I didn't get you that police scanner so you could bail out on chores. Come on! And that's a protest and you know it. YOU DIDN'T EVEN GRAB YOUR MASK!"
Scott dropped his head and the bat in frustration. Looks like he wasn't getting any rest just yet.
@Juvvie Well, the sword Annalyse has is magically enhanced but Annalyse doesn't know that, doesn't know how it would even be activated, and probably wouldn't want to use it as it is destructive when used properly.
Alex nodded to Lilly just as she had to him. Two more followed her out the door. Well, at least this meant not everyone was too focused on partying when something may be going wrong. He followed Lilly quickly rushing up the stairs. He wasn't sure but he thinks he remembered hearing something about another party going on two floors above his. Maybe that is where the scream came from.
Upon entering the room, Alex started to blank. What was going on? Looking around he couldn't tell if there was any foul play going on. He let Lilly do her thing and then walked over, "Okay, everyone back up and give her some space. If there are any medical students around help Lilly with her. You go find this floors RA. And you call the nurse already. If anyone saw or recorded what happened let the room know." Alex started walking around the room trying to see if he could find anything that seemed odd.
Micky had failed horribly to meet and greet with anyone around him. He knew how to socialize but flirting was not his thing so every time he tried to talk to someone he quickly snuck away before a conversation could start. Why had he decided to come here? No one wanted to spend time with a bumbling buffoon when they could have someone charming them off their feet.
He slowly roamed around the floor listening to the various conversations as he passed by. He couldn't find any specific one that he'd want to join in on. Micky breathed a sigh of relief when they were told to make their way to their seats. This way he couldn't slip away from talking and would be able to force himself to talk with someone.
Micky listened as the table went around introducing themselves. It was quite a cast of interesting characters. It finally came to Micky to speak up and he reflexively mimicked the guy right next to him by standing up. "Oh uh HI! Umm, my name is Micky, I mean Mitchell Woulfe, but I am called Micky by everyone. I'm a musical theatre student at college and currently work at a music store. It is a pleasure to meet you all. I look forward to any future adventures with you all." Micky smiled and after realizing he was still standing slowly lowered himself to his seat. Well, that was out of the way. Hopefully, everything else would be easier.
Don't worry. I won't be coming for use of TaskMaster if anyone else is using him. Even if I wanted to use him for this first plot I couldn't bring myself to do so as he is one of my favorite Marvel villains and my season one villain is a setup for my season two villain and I don't want to waste my time with TaskMaster as a setup guy. That's why I'm looking for lower level mercenary types.
In other news I have my sample post done. I couldn't think of a good scene to go with so I made something random that could show up as a random thing happening in an episode for comedic relief.
I decided to look at some other sheets before working on my sample post and saw Batroc mentioned in the Nemesis sheet. Does anyone have any ideas of someone I could use to replace him in mine? Any decently skilled b to low a tier mercenary would do other than Taskmaster as if I were to use him it'd be for something bigger.
