Alex was appreciative of the fact that others were standing up to take charge as well. He just hoped that this guy mentioning how they could possibly already be infected wouldn't cause anyone to panic. He looked at each of the people occupying the room and it seemed none of them had gotten, well, more panicky. Everyone was already in a bad mental state but so far no one was doing anything dumb or reckless. He turned to look at the next person to speak up, Kaylee, mentioning how some were in a far worse mental state than others. "I don't know how well alcohol will help but let anyone who wants have at it." Next up was a freshman that Alex did not remember asking what he could do to help. Alex wanted to tell him something, but looking at the kid he needed more help than they did. Alex wasn't the best emotional supporter so he just kept quiet.

Then there was a loud bang. Alex's heart skipped a beat as he was ripped out of his own mind to the outburst of the resident troublemaker. After she grabbed a soda she then joined the conversation giving out odd details about screwdrivers. He pulled out his swiss army knife to help deal with the table legs only to remember that the mechanisms for the thing had been messed up real bad to the point that the screwdriver part had come off years ago. Really should've had the darned thing repaired. He could use the knife part but he heard Fitz ask the girl who had been searching the cabinets if she had found anything good. He turned to the girl to see what she found. The girl seemed to be a complete wreck but was pushing through it. After a while, she dumped what she'd found onto the table. Not much but better than nothing.

Before anyone else spoke some dissent to the table leg idea came along with the request for names from Bill. One of the few people Alex actually somewhat knew. The other Alexander speaking up about a map drew his attention. He started looking over the current state of the map. This little piece of paper would be extremely helpful in developing a plan. He was studying the thing but after someone decided to call everyone stupid Alex decided to speak up.

"Okay, so we're all idiots. Right. We're idiots for trying to come up with a plan rather than running out there with nothing. I will admit that yes using a table leg is a stupid idea. But going out there with no plan and using our hands is a moronic one. So, unless your attitude somehow helps with our situation then I'm going to ignore you for now. Not gonna deal with morons right now." Where Alex was scared and nervous before he had now added a little bit of frustration. He at least knew Bill and her general attitude didn't really bother him that much. Especially since she seemed to want to help. Along with the others in the room. But this girl didn't even seem like she'd be on their side.

"Going without food for a bit won't be a big deal if we can get to the cafeteria. There should be a lot there. But if we give the food to anyone it probably should be whoever we have expending the most energy. Meaning whoever uses the table legs. So, how about we move this stuff off the table and actually get those legs off. I have a knife. Here's a quarter. Oh, and my name is Alex like him. Call me whatever you like." After saying that, Alex fishes a quarter out of his pocket and hands it to Elliot. He then begins grabbing some of the things from the table moving them.

Stupid. Moron. I should've kept a closer eye on her. Alex was standing at the window watching some of the zeds shambling about. Most of them were probably inside by now. He was watching to see if anyone living had made it out. So far, he hadn't seen a single living person outside of this window. He had been watching for a specific person in general. His younger sister, Sadie. Ever since the students had been crowded into the auditorium the two had stuck nearby. The one time they separate, her going to sit with some of her friends, and him going to comfort some of the younger members of the drama club. That's about when chaos erupted.

Alex hadn't been near the first source of panic but soon the entire room was thrust into the depths of terror. Alex's first thought was run but when he saw what the loud scream had called zombies he knew he needed to find Sadie. He tried to calm himself but he just ran around avoiding the biters as best he could until he nearly got chomped. Alex wasn't looking where he was going and nearly ran into the clutches of one of the undead when someone just a little faster than him doing the exact same thing he was ended up barreling between the two knocking them both to the ground. Alex looked forward seeing someone attempt to run over the creature only to be grabbed and instantly have their ankle bit into. With this happening before his eyes all thoughts were gone. It was down to fight or flight at this point and flight took control of Alex's body.

He quickly got to his feet and began running along with the majority of the crowd. The rest is somewhat a blur. Alex doesn't even remember exactly how he got into the teacher's lounge. Maybe he saw a familiar face and rushed in behind them. Taking a look around the room he did know a few of the them. Watching out the window was getting him nowhere. He pulled out his phone again to see that he still had no signal. Alex rested his head against the window. He couldn't stay cooped up in here hoping everything was gonna be alright. He had to do something.

It seemed as if a few of the others had come to this conclusion as well. There was a discussion going on in regards to what needed to be done. While Alex agreed with those desiring to leave this room soon, he didn't believe driving off would be a good idea just yet. In reality, it was more like he just didn't want to leave yet. He had to find his sister. The top priority for him, and either way if they could somehow lock out the zeds or keep them confined somewhere the school might have some good supplies on hand. In every apocalypse media, food and water were hard resources to come by. Maybe if they could get to the cafeteria something good would come of that.

But right now none of that could be accomplished if they stayed in this room freaking out and arguing. Someone had to step up. Okay. What's the best way to raise confidence in people? Give them an easy to execute task and praise them when they succeed. Also, being cool, calm, collected, and commanding may help. Alright, Alex. Just think of this as improv class. Don't break character. Don't hesitate. Just do it.

Alex took a few deep breaths trying to clear his mind as best he could. He needed to shove down his own fear if anything was gonna get done. Turning around he looked at the people gathered in the room with him. He spoke up loud enough that they couldn't really ignore him but tried to keep from being too loud that something outside the room might hear. "If a plan is what we need then let's make one. If we stay in this room we will run out of food eventually so the sooner we fix that the better. I'm going to go ahead and give my vote against leaving campus by vehicle first. I feel more things are important. Like what that kid yelled, if this really is a freaking 'zombie' outbreak, I can't believe I'm saying that, but if it is we have three priorities. One is food and water. Two is some way to protect ourselves. Three is a safe place to hide. All of those could potentially be solved on this campus. We can find food and water in the cafeteria. We can find improvised weapons all over the place. There also might just be a safer room in this place than this tiny thing. We can't find anything if we stay cooped up in this room though. Does anyone have anything that we could protect ourselves with? If anything we could break the legs off of that table and use them."

Once he finished he started breathing a little more rapidly. That sounded good, right? Even if it wasn't really a plan, which it wasn't, having people shift their minds to thinking about that stuff may get their minds off the fact that leaving this room could spell imminent doom. As long as someone could come up with a goal-based off of the painfully obvious information he had stated then that was one step closer to getting in a safer situation. Alex's mind was running 100 yards in 9.58 seconds trying to find a solution to their plight. Please let there be someone here who knows what to do.

17 - Virgo - Junior - 5'11" - Jeremy Irvine

“The world is a stage. It's up to us whether it's a tragedy or one brimming with hope.”

Appearance Details

Alex stands at an average of 5'11" and has an athletic build. Occasionally playing sports and spending time at the theater keeps him in good shape. Alex has a slight farmer's tan. He has deep blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. Most consider his hairstyle as messy but somehow kept. It's due to how he keeps his hair cut fairly short but only messes with his hair to dry it and eliminate bed head. Alex also has a resting 'don't care' look about him. The only time he shows emotion is during high levels of such things or when he is acting. There is also a single small scar on the back of his head covered by his hair from an accident when he was four.

The key defining term of Alex's style is comfort tending to wear t-shirts with some geeky logo or a very cheesy pun along with shorts and, if it's particularly cold, he'll add sweatpants and a leather jacket. He also has a grey toboggan that he tends to wear which definately does not help with his hair.
Characterization

Protective Distrusting Loyal Anger Issues Observant Stubborn Caring Sarcastic Quick-Witted Self-Deprecating

From a young age, Alex has been obsessed with playing characters. From playing doctor in kindergarten to Elf #3 in fourth grade and finally to being the leading male role in Stockbridge Academy as a Junior. He has always enjoyed diving into the mind of another and portraying them to the best of his ability. Sure, being one of the 'theater kids' is a label that at times he has despised, but it's all worth it on opening night to hear the applause and see the smiles of everyone. Including a few times, in which some of those same hecklers would come to watch. The only bad thing, according to him, that came from his obsession for acting is that he has developed a sort of disconnection from his own emotions and feelings. He still has them but he has spent so much time essentially being other people that he doesn't really know who he is. Thinking about things on a more logic-based spectrum rather than an emotional one doesn't help matters so he tends to neglect how he feels and will try to do the 'logical' thing.

Outside of his hobby, Alex doesn't really do much. He plays games, watches anime, reads comic books. General geek and otaku subculture shenanigans. He will play sports whenever a production is not going on as it is the best way to keep him consistently fit as he is not a fan of going to the gym. Other than that it tends to be because of his family dragging him around that he'll do anything else. His home life is fairly average other than one of his siblings being adopted. It is a large nuclear family with three boys and three girls. One of the girls being the aforementioned adopted one. The entire family is close with the biggest fight to be when the youngest dropped the family iPad from the second-floor window breaking it.

While with his family and few friends Alex can be a decently sociable person, it is a completely different story around others. Due to past friendships ending in very poor ways, Alex has become somewhat closed off to people he doesn't know well. For the illogical reasons that only a child could muster Alex has blamed himself for most of the bad things that happen to him or those that he feels close to. As such, he has trouble building new bonds with people. It doesn't help that he has a lack of trust for people in general as he has gotten it into his head everyone will abandon him one day. He's like an ogr-- I mean onion with layers. Each one harder to crack than the last. But the same can be said of every human. In Alex's case you'll find a great friend behind that final layer.

I think I put everything in there. If anything doesn't make sense lemme know and I'll answer. Was trying to be concise. Don't know how well I did at that.
