Current Ever had that moment were you've just lost a battle of wills with your dog and think to yourself, "maybe I should be the one sleeping on the floor"? I have. It's oddly liberating.

My Lit Lecturer used Matt Fraction's Hawkeye run to display the effect of narratology in class today. It's the first thing he's spoken about all term that I've actually read.

How good is the Punisher in Netflix's Daredevil series? "Just some guys who are about to walk into a diner for the last time." That line is so manly it could make a toddler sprout a beard.

The Justice League trailer is giving me mixed emotions. On the one hand, I desperately want to get hyped. On the other, Snyder and co have burnt me too many times in the past. I'm a conflicted mess.

What? The Lethal Weapon tv show isn't utter garbage at all, instead being an enjoyable watch. What the fuck is the world coming to?

Hey guys, I just seen from the interest check that you are now recruiting new members. I was gonna read through the IC before I craft a character but I'm definitely interested in this.
Hi-Voltage

Tommy refrained from cheering with the rest of the newly-minted League members, his ulterior motives for joining weighing heavy on him in the wake Zenith's speech about worthiness. Was it really worthy to use a group like this with the goal of hunting down and getting his revenge on someone, even a dangerous serial killer like Obsidian? The sinking in his gut was all probably the answer he needed.

Then there was this 'Legion' business to consider. The whole scene smacked of sinister, but Volt knew it would be beyond him to figure it out. He'd already outsourced the problem to Silvertounge, but even that might not be enough, as something told him this wasn't just an ordinary case. Probably take some serious grey matter to solve that mystery.

Maybe I should pass the details about 'Legion' onto Strix when I touch base about Obsidian. He might be a special kinda crazy, but he's still the smartest lad I've ever met, excepting maybe Szymon.

The owl-themed vigilante wasn't hard to spot so Volt was about to cross over to him when he was nudged by someone in the crowd.

His smile for Sonja only slipped a little when she called him slimbean (hardly the worst thing he had ever been called, but pretty damned far from the best too) She thrust her hand out and declared her full name. Volt hesitated, unsure if he wanted to share his fiercely guarded identity to her so soon, but also not wanting to alienate one of the only people he knew in America by refusing to tell her his name. He decided the best policy was to casually ignore this hurdle for the moment. He shook the proffered hand.

"Not likely to forget your name after you saved me from Boomer! Sure, the fortress sounds peachy. I could use a cold beer after today."

Furious

Furious shook Chrome's hand, all the animosity he had held for the man a minute ago melting away.

"Humility and patience have never been my strong suits," he answered ruefully. He followed the rest of the heroes to the pavilion, cheering louder than most upon finding out he had made the cut. It almost made the beating Chrome had given him worth it. Now he could take his first steps towards truly making a difference for his meta brothers and sisters who face persecution.

But first he would have to try and sleep of the days exertions.

MrDidact also pointed out that you made your characters that way, Gabriel could go toe to toe with the trainers in the training room. when you want your characters to be like street level heroes then they are going look outclassed when compared to A list heroes. This rp is very much like the justice league and in the justice league, there are A list and C list heroes. Batman at first glance looks out of place and weak when compared to the rest of founding members of the league, but when he shows off his brains and strategic skills then you see why he deserves to be on a team of heroes like the justice league. comic books do this all the time and it works.

Its not so much being outclassed powerwise Yog, its the fact that the trainers are shrugging off the hits they've taken that bother people. Furious and Changeling aren't streetclass, but they have both been pretty much trounced by Chrome, only one of the trainers.

Thankfully the training situation seems to be nearing a close then maybe our next adventures wont be as unforgiving.
Well I've got Volt and I've pretty clearly marked him as A-list seeing as he's the biggest hero in Britain. Just he's not in the training simulation, is all.
Furious

Black spots were dancing across his vision, tracing delicate and mesmerising patterns like a shower of shooting stars. He was so entranced that he almost didn't feel the thud when he hit the dirt again. . . . Almost.

Furious skidded across the pavement like a carelessly discarded rag-doll, seemingly taking an age before he finally rolled to a stop. His body cried out in protest at the punishment he had received during the last few moments of fighting with Chrome. His broken hand was a constant source of agony and his face felt like someone had crashed an eighteen wheeler into it. The thought of all the extra power he had gained couldn't even make this beating worth it. In actual fact he was suffering a severe case of dizziness and was struggling to even stand. He finally managed to climb to his feet, a task that seemed impossibly hard. He caught the battle for bus in the corner of his eye, realising the action was starting to wind down now.

Part of him was incredibly thankful for the apparent calming of hostilities, as it didn't feel like his battered shell couldn't stand up to much more punishment. He would have been more than happy to just stand there for a moment trying not to collapse, but he could see Neutro's group in desperate conflict with a clutch of trainers and henchmen and knew that if they didn't receive reinforcements soon then they would get taken out again.

But first he'd have to deal with Chrome. . . Again.

He swung his gaze towards the metal trainer, equal parts respect and animosity filling Furious at the sight of his steel hide. Chrome was proving himself to be an excellent defensive fighter, one that could probably weather several more frontal assaults before he went down. Thankfully he seemed to be favouring his injured side now, letting Furious know that he had at least managed to damage him now.

“I haven't beat you, but I have stopped you making a difference,” He called across to the trainer, gesturing at the bus that was now at the mercy of the heroes. “And I think its only a matter of time before I take you down. . . ” The claim was mostly bluster at this point, but he said it with all the determination that he could muster.

“But I see you're hurt, and I will offer you a one time offer. I will allow you to surrender and seek medical attention. This is a training simulation and I do not wish to cripple you. I believe you know how I come by my strength, so believe me when I say that I am more than strong enough to end this conflict now after that brawl.” It hurt his pride to offer Chrome a way out rather than physically overpowering him, but at this stage he seriously doubted his ability to beat the metal man. He just hoped he bought his bluff. . . And that he didn't pass out before it's conclusion.

Yeah. . . I'm still not happy about that.
No way, Wolverine goes down more often than Worf.
Posted, but if that post doesn't meet the criteria of 'everyone beat up the Atlantean' I can change it.
Fenrir rushed after his pack mates, pulling his wolf-mask/helm into place as he moved. Hawkman had designed the costume personally, aiming to evoke the savagery and ferocity of Magnus's 'Wolf' form. The Thangarian had succeeded, the whole kit being quite intimidating. Any would be crook thinking about causing trouble would have second thoughts when seeing Fenrir now. Carter had told him that the breast plate, helm and gauntlets were made from Nth metal and should increase his strength and allow him to fly, but Magnus had yet to tap into that ability yet. His mentor theorised it would just take time, but Magnus was in no rush to unlock the secrets of the Nth metal. Truthfully he hated flying with a passion.

. . . Which made their trip to the docks all the more irksome for him. The packs new flying machine wasn't the smoothest of rides, and the fact that the designer, Cyber-Knight, had gotten herself killed by Computron hardly filled Magnus with confidence. The journey was thankfully brief, Magnus white-knuckling it the whole way. He was leaping from the craft before the yellow mutant had even swung for them, landing on the dock with smooth balance on the balls of his feet. He was about to leap to the defence of Ditto2 when Thunder beat him too it.

Magnus watched the confrontation with interest, trying to match the newcomer up with any of the hero's Hawkman had forced him to learn off. The blue garbed interloper didn't really match any of the descriptions, but he seemed powerful and was apparently on their side. Blue's match with the mutant didn't last long, the two breaking apart after being struck by lightning, the newcomer landing no more than two feet in front of the Wolf-man.

"Oh, come on. . . "

The feral meta ready's himself for the attack then, but something stays his hand, something that's been bothering him since the pack arrived on the scene. There was something familiar with the way the yellow woman was moving, some sense of distant kinship. Her smell was off too, the tangy bitterness of rage and aggression playing over something sweeter but equally primal.

It was fear, he realised, she was afraid. Then it hit him. He had never met the yellow girl before, but he knew why he thought he had. He had been in her situation before, when he had first escaped Granny. Fenrir had been on his own in a world that was unfamiliar and suspicious of him, and he had lashed out in his terror. He knew deep in his heart that this strange looking woman was going through the same thing. She had probably never even seen this surface world before, and now she was here and being attacked.

"Stop!" he roared at his pack. He wasn't sure they would listen, or if the newcomer in blue would take heed, but he had to try to calm the yellow girl before letting the violence go on, for his own conscience if nothing else. He began walking towards the Atlantean then, slow and easy so as not to spook her. He had her full attention now, but wasn't sure that was an entirely good thing as she watched him with dark alien eyes that were as inscrutable to him as the ocean depths. As he walked he doffed his mask and unbuckled his knife belt, trying to show he didn't mean any harm towards her.

"Easy now." He stopped just in front of her, arms held wide at his side. The ball was in her court now, he just hoped she wouldn't hit him with it.
This looks like a job for Aquaman!
