So I'm not cool enough to do it, but I think a Pokemon based Nation RP would be cool. Jussayin.

Today is a day of sadness. It is the day I quit partaking of the drink of my lord and savior, Lord Coffee Bean. I shall be very grumpy for the next three weeks.

Genres/Other
I'm all about that fantasy. I can mix it with other genres, such as sci-fi, slice of life, etc. but I generally stick to fantasy settings. As long as something supernatural or mystical is afoot, I'm interested. I generally like adventure, exploration, and conversation more than action and fighting in my roleplays as long as everyone is having a good time. I enjoy tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons, Scion, Dungeon World, and Ryuutama.
At her core Yui is insecure and unsettled with her own identity. Being one of the middle children of her family has set her into a path obscurity. Not young enough to be doted on, and not old enough to be given responsibility, she has settled into her role as the invisible child within her home. She comes, she goes, but none of it truly matters. Though many would think this would instill within her a sense of freedom, it's given her quite the opposite. She's caged within her own sense of inferiority, which causes her to work all the harder at seeking attention (and approval, although she would never admit that).
Yui is a very mischievous child and adores playing pranks on those around her. She can be ruthless at times and take her joking too far, and is somewhat unapologetic about it unless you nag her for a true apology. She's above average in her academics, which is a surprise to many who find out what her test scores are – additionally, she's equally above average in athletics as well. She never shines, she just gets by, which probably has fueled her prankster nature. It's almost as if she's saying “Give me attention, now!” And it usually doesn't matter to her if the attention she receives is good or bad.
Handling anger or sadness for her usually involves exercising or beating something up just to get rid of her pent up emotions. She will rarely talk about her true feelings with others, most likely due to her parental negligence. She's been known to lash out angrily at anyone who messes with her during these times, so it's probably for the best to just stay out of her way.
History:
She is the middle child of six, with three younger and two older siblings. Her younger sibling, Asagi, was born premature just before Yui could celebrate her first birthday. Due to the needs of a premature infant, Yui was pushed off to her eldest sister, Michiru, for her to take care of so that their parents could focus solely on Asagi's well-being. Because of the close proximity of their birthdays, Yui and Asagi would celebrate them at the same time – with Asagi usually getting the better gifts to compensate for her poor health. Eventually, their birthday cakes began to read “Happy Birthday Asagi”, with no mention of Yui. Her parents would explain it was so Asagi would feel more special, and that Yui could go enjoy other things that Asagi couldn't.
As you can imagine, Yui doesn't like Asagi very much.
All other aspects of her life have been normal, borderline mundane. Because of this she has turned to delinquency, provoking reactions out of authority figures on a daily basis is something she gets a kick out of.
Magical Power:Shining Shadow Summon!
Standard: Yui can manipulate her shadow, making it stretch, shrink, or even change shape.
Transformed: In her transformed state, Yui can manipulate her own shadow as well as nearby shadows. From these shadows she can create shadow summons, creatures that can fight for her. Depending on the size of the shadow, she can even summon more goliath creatures. When these shadow summons “die”, Yui can either remake them or meld them together to make something more powerful. Along with shadow summons, she can phase into the shadows and travel rather fast within. Her range of mobility during these times is limited to shadows, or her summons.
Other:
In dere types, she is closest to a dorodere, though she exhibits some tsundere qualities.
In regards to the Shadow Summons, if I'm using them during fights with other player characters, I'll let whoever is fighting them control how the fight goes and what kind of damage gets inflicted, if any (instead of trying to duel it out, I think it's better for other people to RP how much they want to let happen to their character.)
In this state Kaelestra is forty feet tall, with tentacles growing from her back that reach up to sixty feet in length and five feet around. She wields a javelin that appears to be made out of the bones and teeth of monsters from the sea.
Kaelestra is a hulking mass in this form. Losing all visages of humanity she may have once possessed, she is a monster beckoned from the depths of the ocean. Defeating her in this state is nigh impossible unless you're packing some serious weaponry or magic.
Power Lvl
Legendary approaching God-like. Kaelestra is still in her metamorphosis state, yet should she complete this transformation she will be a god by all rights. (In comparison to the Gate Guardian, she is power level 4000. After achieving god status, she will be power level 10,000)
Strengths
With the fury and vengeance of the sea, Kaelestra is adept at summoning forth tidal waves and hoards of abyssal creatures from her surroundings. Her many tentacles can lash out quickly, and are highly mobile. If they grip a person, they inflict tremendous amounts of mental anguish until the victim can be broken free. If not broken free before a certain amount of torment is inflicted on them, the victim may become insane or suffer long term effects. If these tentacles are cut, she can regenerate and duplicate them after a short wait, akin to a hydra's heads. Beneath her is a swirling vortex of water and darkness that may catch her foes unawares if they do not tread warily into her territory.
Weaknesses
She is immobile in her metamorphosis, therefore limiting her ability to dodge attacks. Additionally, if her tentacles are somehow held down, she cannot defend herself other than wielding her javelin. The hoards of monsters she summons from the deep are somewhat easily dealt with if paid attention to, and drop spines that can be used against her tentacles.
Setting
Kaelestra has begun her ascendance into God-hood in the middle of an ancient temple ruin that is flooded with water, leaving only pillars and the above floors of the ruin as dry land. She sits in front of a massive chunk of missing wall, which leaves her back open to the ocean and setting sun behind her. On her right and left are massive dilapidated stair cases, slick with slime. The upper floor has massive pillars, atleast ten feet around, that act as a railing and cover. Some of these are dilapidated and broken, though most remain intact as they support the floor above them, and so on. The stairs to reach the floors above this floor are broken.
In the water below, the pillars are at, or a bit above or below water-level, and there are also sections of wall that stand erect for some cover. If one were to look in the water below, it is atleast ten feet to the bottom, and all of it seems to be caught in the current that is swirling around Kaelestra, making it a very inhospitable environment. The ceiling above has a mural of a leviathan ravaging an entire ocean-side kingdom.
Boss Phases
She will go through boss phases, using one set of attacks to another that may be devastating if not reacted to appropriately. If wanted or required, I can list these events and how they may look when she activates them.
The Goal
Defeat Kaelestra before she can ascend to God-hood. This will happen roughly twenty-five to thirty boss posts after the start (basically when the sun is finished setting). If she ascends to God-hood, she can still be defeated, but will have become another boss entirely.
I think we should do it here, in the IC. Do you have any idea what kind of character sheets we could use? What powers/weapons will be available to our characters who are battling the bosses?
