Ethan is an incredibly lonely man in search of love. However, because of his lack of luck in doing such, he has become bitter, insecure, and tends to sleep around with girls a lot. He is selfish and doesn’t care how his actions personally affect anyone and he often thinks of only himself. When it comes to others, he is clueless on how to proceed and make others like him. Many usually classify him as a jerk because of his extremely hot temper and impulsiveness as well as his impatience when dealing with others, thus leading to him exploding and often insulting them. Though he is insecure on the inside, he forces an arrogant front. He doesn’t have many people to talk to and will often lean on his adoptive father and soon-to-be stepmother for advice and support.

Ethan was born to two rich parents who originated from France before moving to Alabama. They often didn’t have time for him and so, since he was a little boy, had been sent to the Academy for boarding school. Ethan was particularly close to his butler, Cogsworth, and he was often the father that they never were. When his parents died in a car crash around the time he was ten, Cogsworth adopted him and all his parents’ money went to them. They lived a nice life, where Cogsworth actually paid attention to him, and had even started another job in order to maintain a lifestyle. Cogsworth took Ethan out from the Academy in order to attend school near him and Ethan enjoyed his life. Eventually, Cogsworth even became engaged to the single mother maid that worked for him, Mrs. Potts. Ethan attended Auburn University for the first couple of years of college, but had then decided to rejoin the Academy and go to college there.
