It's happening again. I have been visited by a soviet mad scientist, a king, a penguin prince of darkness, a house plant god thing, a mystical ancient member, a tired reaper (thank god) + a greeting.

Remember, folks. Don't try to use a crossbow if you have no idea how it works.
Aha! The crossbow! Nartholan did indeed see a crossbow in the weapon booth.

As he picked it up, he realized he hadn't the foggiest idea how to use the thing.

This is easy, you just slide an arrow into here...

He looked around. They brought the crossbow but not the arrows?! All that was there was a set of circular pointy sticks.

Well, a stick is better than nothing...

He got the stick in... finally. He pulled the trigger.

A few times.

Why doesn't this damn thing work?!

He set the thing on the ground and looked. Everything looks fine...

He looked around for a non-broken piece of equipment. There wasn't a bow. He knew there wouldn't be guns laying around... he had to do something to provoke Dryllis. Alliance with him was out of the question. Bringing a sworn enemy of his master into the conflict would ruin all the plans...

Mardolg... it's your turn. Come soon.

Dryllis stared at the group when they mentioned 'lost', and lowered his axe very slightly. He was still very much on his guard... this could be a trap.

"Lost? My course is clear and that is-"

He stopped as a pair of dead Talinth demons caught his eye.

They obviously hadn't been dead for very long. One of them showed very slight signs of life. Showing little regard for security, he strode up to the one emitting slight signs of life... and brought his axe down into the demon's chest, ensuring its return to the hell from which it came.

"There... now, whom's lord do you serve?" he asked Linia as he turned around. If these folks had killed Talinth demons, then they weren't of Dracuil's ilk... but that didn't mean they had anything to do with his own master. Maybe they are Trathaniel's folk? It would be a sheer stroke of luck to find servants of the only allied Lord around, although he still had no idea what he was doing in this portion. He wasn't sure if this was the Battlefields anymore...

The other two knights stood guard, weapons ready, and watched the exchange.

Mardolg had finished the last of the bones in his meal when Nartholan sent a thought to him.

"Not now, dammit!" He looked around for any spare knights. The two blood knights had already been sent, and they obviously didn't last long.

He left the fortress in search of a more... exotic demon. One that would suit the job perfectly...
If you're talking about the image with each char in it... yep :)
I suppose I will throw something up to "activate" folks a bit... in a bit.
So... we're nearing the finish line, folks... don't let it die here...
Stallman had crawled through several vents before meeting up with a very... very large vine.

Well, that explains the blockage.

It was obviously a hex who had done it; wildlife didn't simply grow in vents designed to be as anti-biological growth as possible while permitting the flow of the proper materials. He had to change his course several times to avoid the quickly growing vines.

He finally dropped out in a section right in A hall - just a little ways from a guard. He was extremely thankful that said guard hadn't seen him drop down.

He walked past the guard casually and in the direction of the southeast forest.

Halthar was tired. Only 10 minutes later and several search teams hadn't seen anything, and the 'secret weapon' that had been mentioned by the head guard went rouge.

It was a crappy day, and with night coming, the search teams wouldn't have to be called off.

Slumping against a tree (rather close to where the excaped hexes were hiding, and possibly in earshot), he called the Head Guard.

"What's the status?" he asked wearily.

"The prison is now secure. We had to take down a few almost escaping A class hexes, but we got the A section generators running. Command is still on aux power and we think there was an inside job."

"Inside job?"

"A suspicious worker was at a terminal he wasn't supposed to be at. He gave us the slip before the officers could get him. he vanished into a closet... he might be a hex, because nobody was there when the officers checked."

"How does a hex get into Command? And why the hell was he allowed to get a terminal?"

He could almost see the head guard's shrug. "Negligence is what we have it pinned at. Any result on the search?"

Halthar gazed out into the trees, with the sounds of search teams coming from most directions. "Nope. Damn hexes escaped... this is going to be a lot of paperwork..."

"Don't remind me."
I was considering having a dragon who could shift to human form who is ofof considerable age, now taking control of the Human kingdom in a scheme to eliminate his "former" bretheren, thus creating a conflict for the story.
*massive pokes to everyone* wake up wake up wake up *she screams as she runs around in circles like a madwoman, then crashes to the floor and laughs*

How dare you wake me from - I mean, disturb my temporary, non-sleep shuteye?!
<Snipped everything else>
(I feel like we need a map)

Damn right we do.

I'm hoping he meant leaving as in he went to bed...
