InFamous: Generations

STILL OPEN

This inFamous RP will take place in New York City, several years after the events of inFamous: Second Son. Humans and Conduits now live in peace after so many years of turmoil and fighting. You can now see conduits on a daily basis, living out their lives. Specific machines and new inventions have been created for a conduit's convenience. Of the hundreds of conduits released from Curdon Cay, you are one of them, trying to make a living out in New York City. There is still some conduit racism against you from some, but most hold their tongue.

While most of humanity lives in peace, there is the occasional sour conduit. The occasional conduit who uses his powers for evil. They refer to these conduits are Rogue Conduits. Rogue Conduits are supposed to be locked up, their hands bound, and thrown in a cell. The hands are the gateway to a conduit's power, so if they are restraint, they cannot function. Rogue Conduits will work against the heroes, trying to halt their progress.

There is a new group beginning to rise, that's against the progress of conduit and human friendship, that is referred to as The Syndicate. The Syndicate can do something that has never before been seen - they can take away the power of a conduit. Conduits live in fear of The Syndicate, who go around their goal a bit more stealthily than the DUP or The Militia: no one knows about their whereabouts. The Syndicate is made up completely of humans, unlike the DUP.

Will you defeat The Syndicate to save New York City and it's conduit inhabitants with friends? Or will you fight off The Syndicate to destroy and take over the entirety of New York City as a rogue conduit? It's your choice in the world of inFamous.

Background

It was an era of peace. An era of greatness. An era where any man or woman, poor or rich, deviant or mundane, could prosper. There was once a time, long ago, when this wasn't the case. A type of human called a conduit, was created after a machine known as the Ray Sphere exploded, sending a flooding wave of radiation across the world. Conduits could manipulate any form of matter to their will, and they had enhanced endurance and strength. Humanity didn't accept them. They turned them away. Conduits were mercilessly killed for displaying their powers in bloodbaths. Humans were killed by the hundreds. It was total war. Soon after, it was discovered that the same radiation that turned all humans into conduits was responsible for a disastrous plague that ravaged thousands upon thousands of humans each day, leaving the conduits unaffected. After all this pain and suffering, one conduit, named Cole MacGrath, sacrificed himself to save humanity and cure the plague, at the cost of killing all conduits. Cole was hailed as a hero.

However, the conduit gene survived. It spread and mutated, gaining newer and larger limits over several years. A new government group, known was the Department of Unified Protection, or DUP, came to power lead by Brooke Augustine. They imprisoned any conduits they came across on an island prison known as Curdon Cay. They relabeled conduits as Bio-Terrorists and butchered news stories about conduits to make it seem like they were monsters. After this injustice, another brave conduit, named Delsin Rowe, stepped up in Seattle. Along with two conduit friends Eugene Sims and Abigail Walker, he exposed the DUP to the public, imprisoned Augustine, and released the prisoners, issuing in a new era of peace. Conduits and Humans lived hand in hand, no longer divided. It was a time where any Conduit could walk the street, boasting his powers, and the civilians wouldn't flee like mice or start shooting. Delsin Rowe and Cole McGrath's combined efforts helped to finally destroy the barricade between humans and conduits.

The Syndicate

The following footage was recovered from Channel 6 Conduit News, on January 24th, 8:14:56 PM EST.

A man is standing in front of a camera. He appears to be standing in an old, abandoned factory, due to the chains and pipes of varying sizes in the background. The man has a tan, scarab shaped mask on. It's weathered and beaten, covered in pockmarks and scratches. It appears to have recently been in battle. However, his suit is polished and well defined. It is dark, almost blending into the background of the factory. The man simply stares into the camera for a few seconds, his neon green lights giving off an odd, eery glow.

"What makes a conduit?" The suited man's voice rings out, hollow and metallic. It's been digitally altered, to add an aura of intimidation and fear. "His personality? His appearance? His opinions?" His strips of neon green lights fade and glow as he speaks, flickering in and out. The man begins to strut around the factory. Each step he takes, the metal grating shakes. The camera fuzzes out for a moment, briefly returning to the original news broadcast. It then slowly fizzles back to the original footage. The man is standing in a new area.

Behind the man are two figures. One is clothed exactly like the ringleader, but looks to be more a grunt who does the dirty business. He has the same suit and mask, albeit slightly wider to fit his more muscular frame. The man's neon strips on his mask are dark, signifying he hasn't been speaking. The other is dressed in ragged sacks. His hair has long outgrown, and he hasn't shaven in weeks. Police analyzation reveals this to be the man who disappeared one month ago in Macon, Georgia, revealing he's been kidnapped for several weeks now.

"Here we have Harry Meadow. A family man from Macon, Georgia." The leader drones on, emotionless and uncaring. "He's a family man. A healthy young wife and two children, boy and girl. He's 34 years old. He's a farmer, selling his crops for money. Unfortunately, Harry's also a conduit." The man gestured toward Harry's hands. They were both contained in a large, steel ball. The metal ball was also the same restriction that the government uses on rogue conduits to entrap them and keep them locked up. The man slowly walked over and kneeled by the man.

"Harry Meadow is a liability. A danger, to everyone, including himself." The man revealed his hand. They were encased in golden gloves, with neon, green glowing strips forming a pattern on them, similar to the mask. "Imagine. Harry here gets drunk. He gets mad. He goes on a rampage, gathers some rogue conduits to help. Next morning, Macon is ravaged and destroyed." The man slowly placed the metal glove on the back of Harry's head, gripping the scalp tightly. The man tries to say something, but his words come out in a hoarse whisper heard by no one.

"What makes a conduit is his powers." The man's gloves made a loud, starting up noise. The neon strips all began to glow brightly. "And what were to happen if you took away those powers?" Harry Meadow began to make a horrible screeching sound. Sparks flew from the glove. A neon glowing blue energy flowed from Harry's pores, seeping into the neon strips of the gloves. Harry was clawing at the air and convulsing. It was a horrible scene. The man simply tightened his grips. After 30 seconds, the deed was complete.

The man stopped, and slowly stood up once again. He straightened his tie. The leader raised his gloves. The neon green strips were now a dark, maroon red. Suddenly, a large, flaming pillar of fire erupted out of the gauntlet. "This is his power. Harry Meadow's ability to control and manipulate magma. The Ray Sphere radiation absorbed." The fire disappeared, and the man lowered his gloves. He leaned in close to the camera. His face was emotionless and hidden due to the mask. "I thank you for your time tonight, people of the world. Thank you for watching this special broadcast."

The man paused, and the neon green strips briefly faded. "And to any conduits watching this broadcast.." The man's face was hidden, but it was clear he was smiling. "You have nothing to gain. You have nothing to run from. The Syndicate has arrived And you. Will. Fall." The man raised his glove, and a pillar of fire erupted from the gloves, interrupting the footage and filling the screen with white, glowing embers. The hacked footage ended, and the regular conduit news filled the broadcast once again, unknowing of what had just happened.

Most people thought this was a joke. A harmless, but poor taste, joke. People started to take this a lot more serious when they realized Harry Meadow was a man who went missing. Police soon investigated the Meadow residence, only to find him hanging in his bedroom. There was no suicide note. His family members report that he arrived home in an armored van and was thrown out onto their yard. His family was overjoyed, but Harry didn't seem to notice. Harry didn't say a word, in rags and long hair over his eyes, and locked himself in their bedroom, where he killed himself. The footage struck fear in the hearts of most conduits, leaving an impressionable mark on conduits and people alike.

2. Try to be kind to any other fellow RPers in OOC. In IC, however, you can be as much of an arse as you want to another.
3. Try not to make very short posts. While I do admit in some RPs I have been guilty of this, try to do at least 2-3 paragraphs per post.
4. Stick with inFamous lore. Don't do sudden retcons or huge changes to the lore. If you haven't played the games yet, it's cool, just wiki some junk if you don't know it.
5. NO ANIME PICTURES. I just love this rule.
6. Try to be unique with powers, by that I mean no repeats please. If a power is taken that you wanted well unfortunately you'll have to find something else.

She's a deranged psychopath that enjoys watching others suffer. She has no love for normal people, in fact she would rather watch them all suffer under her powers as well as those conduits who stand in her way.

Biography:
Before her powers, and before Conduits were even known publicly, Chloe had been a good girl, a kind person who was shy and timid around most people. No one ever bothered her or asked why she had bruises on herself since she had always been such a kind person, why would anyone harm her. No one knew her home life. She was raised by a neglectful and abusive father and mother. Her mother wasn't even her real mother, her father had had a drinking problem for most of his life and had a child with another woman who left Chloe on his doorstep. He would of gotten rid of her, if the woman he hadn't been a part of a dangerous gang and she hadn't left a letter saying if he dared got rid of the child his head would be cut off.
Of course this made tension between her father and step-mother who hated Chloe, only raising her because of the fear of what would happen if they didn't. Despite that though, they beat her and treated her as if she was garbage yet it never made a dent in Chloe's kind nature. She always tried to look at the light of things. Her parents might of been drug addicted, drunks who hated her but she led a happy life, she might of not had many friends but those she did have she loved them like they were her family. It wasn't until one tragic event that pushed Chloe over the edge and ended that precious life and reborn her as a cruel and psychopathic killer. That event that would spawn her new persona, Scorn.
Her father had been drunk and probably high at the same time but he forced himself upon her, which led her kind self to die, finally unable to hold back the truth, the truth that her life was a dark one, a cruel one. That the only thing that comes from being raised by two monsters, is an even greater and deadly monster. Scorn was born and she hatched a plan to get her revenge after fifteen years of neglect and abuse. She drugged her parents one night and when they awoke both were tied up in chairs facing one another, and hooked up to an impressive work of a hand made contraption that would have them kill each other. The fear that Scorn saw in their eyes made her smile and laugh. Oh how she tormented them, causing them pain and suffering like they had to her before she allowed them death. First her wicked step-mother who she had made her father slit her throat, and then through this end, allowed him to see the device work in motion as a Rube Goldberg machine made its rounds where in the end a gun would eventually kill him. When cops finally arrived on the scene, they only saw Scorn laughing hysterically and repeating the words 'I WIN!' over and over again while a house was ablaze behind her.
She would plead insanity and with the evidence that it was true she was abused and her parents had a record, the courts would agree with that assumption and sent her to an asylum upstate. Here she would cause even more chaos. She became the most insane person they had there and was kept in twenty-four hour lock-down. She remained in lock-down for three years before her powers manifested at the age of eighteen. By then the D.U.P. had been formed, and Conduits were known to the public. She went on a rampage, causing more death in the Asylum and mayhem. It took nearly a month before the D.U.P. finally caught her and by then the damage was done. The Asylum was burned to the ground, countless dead and millions in damages, but the D.U.P. made that all disappear and took her away to Curdon Cay, where for five years she was held.
This is where she learned of the Reapers and more about the events of Empire City, where she found her true calling. She met the last two remaining conduits of the old gang there and learned as much as she could about the old gang. They had men on the outside but couldn't get out of Curdon Cay so they waited. She also recruited another man, the last of another gang that had been in Empire City, that gang had been called the Dustmen. He was the last surviving conduit of that gang and despite the fierce rivalry that had existed many years ago in Empire City an alliance was struck between her, the Reapers, and this Dustman. They ruled their cell block with an iron fist and eventually all were separated. Augustine made sure to keep Scorn on her own, in a cell that was filled with light, unable to use her powers unless Augustine allowed it. It wasn't until the fall of Augustine that Scorn was free and rejoined her comrades. The disappeared into the wind for a year before reappearing in New York. Here she would begin her new life finally, the new head of the Reapers and strike fear into the people and destroy the Syndicate.

Power:
Shadow Manipulation

Power Abilities:
Teleportation- Being able to use shadows as a means to go between distance though she can't go super far this way, mostly used for means of getting behind an opponent that she's facing to surprise them. Can also be used to gain access to tall building tops, a quick way to scale large structures and get around swiftly at times if there are lots of shadows around.

Shadow shot- a concentrated shot of darkness that does some damage to her opponent, can be focused to do increased damage.

Shadow Rocket- Shoots a ball of darkness made from shadows that are around her. Explodes on impact surrounding the person in darkness as well as doing quite a bit of damage but costs quite a bit of her energy.

Shadow beast/Shadow camouflage- able to create a beast, more commonly the shape of a rather large dog, or in myth what is called a hellhound and have it appear when she uses Shadow camouflage, a form of distraction basically. While she camouflage's into the shadows the beast appears to distract her enemies as she either slips away or gets a better advantage.

Shadow grenade- A densely packed ball of shadows used as a means of blinding her opponents, it doesn't do much damage but rather temporarily blinds them allowing her to strike quick and fast with another attack while they are blinded.

Other:
She has haemolacria, a rare condition where rather then crying tears, she cries blood. It was from her abusive parents that she got this.

She's a rather upbeat but serious person that can handle a joke from time to time. She tries to think positive of most things but knows that not everything can be perfect and simple and has a mind of a strategist from the years of being with her father who had been in a gang and got out but still had enemies on him. She's loyal to her friends and will protect those that she cares for even if it means death. She is a compassionate person and tries to help all those that she can, when she can.

Biography:
Kiera was born into a dangerous life. Her mother abondended her to his father, not caring about her and thought of the night that she had shared with Keira's father a one night fling with unexpected results (of course it wasn't the first time these results happened from a one night fling). Keira's father was left to decide his daughter's fate, as much as he at the time did not want a child, he couldn't get rid of her so he took care of her, and did what was expected of himself while he resided with the gang. When Keira was about five though, he managed to get himself out of the gang, faking his death and ran into the hills, having Keira and himself live a life of seclusion for the most part besides the long trips to take her to school. He taught her most of what he knew and that she had to be careful, because he still had enemies and explained more as she got older on his past life. She had been shocked to learn that her father had lived such a horrible life but never left or was angered by him. She was more disappointed by him but was proud he had gotten them out of that terrible life to this nice one.
Eventually though all good things come to an end and his old gang did find him and ended her father's life while Keira was attending her school studies. She came home to the smoldering remains of a house. This was when her powers appeared. Outraged she let out a scream into the night that shook the air and made glass shoot out of the ground around her (think kind of like Cole's ice powers from Infamous 2 but with glass). She was shocked and scared at what happened and ran. When the D.U.P. was formed she figured out what she was, a conduit. She learned that she could manipulate glass, being able to form it as well as use the materials around her made of glass to fuel her powers or use it for her own works. She stayed under the radar of the D.U.P. once learning what she was, not wanting to be thrown in jail but eventually they found her and at the age of sixteen, she was sent to Curdon Cay, where learning her powers would be just the tip of the iceberg of what she would find while she was their.
One of the rare days when the conduits were allowed to mingle with others in the prison she stumbled upon a person who looked nearly like her in a lot of ways. From what she learned, that girl had called herself Scorn though she learned that her real name was Chloe after some digging and getting on a few of the guard's good side (hey not all of them are bad people right?). She found it odd that both of them never knew their mother, coincidence perhaps but the events that made them not know their mother were nearly identical. Both were abandoned, left with their parental fathers. She tried to make friends with Chloe but eventually figured she was too insane to allow it and she had formed her own group that ruled the section of the prison she was in. Keira resided in another prison cell block. Her cell being merely made to not hold any glass.
When the day came that the conduits were freed from Curdon Cay she could of been the happiest person in the world. She had tried to be the first one out, finally able to breath fresh air again, able to now use her powers with more control, the only good use Curdon Cay had ever had. She had also tried to find Chloe again but she was all ready gone.
For a time Keira traveled the country, never really settling anywhere but just seeing the sites of the United States. She eventually settled in the Big Apple when she was twenty-two and has happily lived in the city for a year now when the Syndicate showed their ugly face. She vowed to stop them and bring them to justice for what they did to conduits.

Power:
Glass Manipulation- Shape, compress, and/or otherwise manipulate glass, including properties such as color, opacity and flexibility. Includes granulation, heat/cold resistance, polish glass, repair glass objects, resistance/invulnerability to damage, sharpen/dull glass objects, and thermal resistance.

Power Abilities:
Glass Shot- Fires a glass blade from palm, though only one shot at a time, can do quite a bit of damaged when focused properly.

Shrapnel Grenade- A glass grenade that on explosion sends out shrapnel of glass, downs weakened foes.

Glass Surfing- Her form of transportation, she takes a piece of glass and forms it into a platform she's able to stand on and can surf on it basically.

Glass Shield- Takes glass from surrounding environment to form a glass shield around her. She can harden it to take quite a bit of damage but can only do it for so long before it shatters.

Is Scorn's half-sister.

There I made a post, not a great one but I wanted to kind of show off his ability to change size slightly so that is what I did, plus having a conversation with a symbiote seemed to be a good idea so that he won't kill anyone.

While fighting with the web-freak and having their moral debate, on of the Doom henchmen had what might of been a homemade flame weapon of some kind, he aimed it at Legion and got a result that very few knew about Legion. A kind of defense mechanism that only happened when the symbiote was angered or agitated. The symbiote let out a blood curdling screech and hissed at the man, actually becoming larger and the teeth and claws of it becoming sharper and more prominent. This reaction caused the man to falter which allowed Legion to swat him away as if he was a fly and the man crash landed on a table, breaking it in two. The symbiote returned to its normal size afterwards when it calmed down and kept fighting, barely missing a beat.
Spiderman is right, we can't kill or hurt these men to much, Zac said in thoughts to the symbiote ,We need allies and doing to much damage to them will only make us enemies more to them.
These men don't deserve life, they deserve death, Legion hissed back in thoughts ,but you are right, we need allies. Fine I'll only incapacitate them, for now unless another comes up and tries to use flames on me, that man will be a dead man.
Thus hopefully there would be some form of odd friendship between the webhead and the symbiote, at least for these brief few minutes of this fight, teaming up would be the best advantage, along with the other heroes, if they could get to them at some point in this fray but with all the chaos it seemed unlikely they may come across anyone else until it was all said and done.

I also did a little work on Scorn, updating her history and putting in the other section her condition on how she cries blood rather then tears. I'll probably update her powers a bit more as well.
Also like I said last night, I will get the main thread up today though it might either be late afternoon or evening when I do that. Just in case people wonder timezone, I'm in Mountain Standard Time Zone.

Yes, she's insane and definitely full of evil to say the least. XD I all ready have her first post done, something I wanted to do in the last RP before it died, sadly it was going to be something after the events of the museum but since we never got to that, I never got to post it but lets just say the Reapers are going to more known from the beginning then they were in the last RP.
Of course you can still try to change her, maybe I'll have a change of heart myself along the way but I will say it won't be easy trying to change her from what she is.

I'll probably make the main thread tomorrow though wait for another few days to see if we can get a few more people in on this.

Zac didn't question the guy, rather he gave the chair a test for himself. It was incredibly comfortable, seemingly shaping to his body. So far the experience was good but this was hardly anything what they would be experiencing if what they said about this console was true. He had his doubts that they could replicate actual places in a hundred percent accuracy or even get events right but that would soon be seen. Minutes seem to tick by as hours as they waited for all the others to get into the chairs.

Teleportation- Being able to use shadows as a means to go between distance though she can't go super far this way, mostly used for means of getting behind an opponent that she's facing to surprise them. Can also be used to gain access to tall building tops, a quick way to scale large structures and get around swiftly at times if there are lots of shadows around.
Shadow shot- a concentrated shot of darkness that does some damage to her opponent, can be focused to do increased damage.
Shadow Rocket- Shoots a ball of darkness made from shadows that are around her. Explodes on impact surrounding the person in darkness as well as doing quite a bit of damage but costs quite a bit of her energy.
Shadow beast/Shadow camouflage- able to create a beast, more commonly the shape of a rather large dog, or in myth what is called a hellhound and have it appear when she uses Shadow camouflage, a form of distraction basically. While she camouflage's into the shadows the beast appears to distract her enemies as she either slips away or gets a better advantage.
Shadow grenade- A densely packed ball of shadows used as a means of blinding her opponents, it doesn't do much damage but rather temporarily blinds them allowing her to strike quick and fast with another attack while they are blinded.

Other:
She has haemolacria, a rare condition where rather then crying tears, she cries blood. It was from her abusive parents that she got this.
