Bio

ArtMonkey is a creative Storyteller

I love the Roleplaying world as it has allowed me to explore my crazy imagination in art and writing. For me fellow role-players are co-storytellers. We use our minds to help form worlds and characters. I am a fan of the fantastical. Strange and otherworldly destinations grab my attention.

So, what sort of world are you looking to help create? I am interested in a group and 1on1 play. Fandoms are fine and I find it to be a fun challenge to think within a preexisting universe. Star Trek, Star Wars and Firefly are some worlds I wouldn't mind dipping my toes in.

Surrealism or dreamscape type adventures are fun to explore. I am more interested in exploration and interaction over conflict/fighting. Depending on the tension of the situation a fight might break out. Pretty much whatever serves the story is OK with me.

Hi @Belle, the following is a set up I'm thinking of a survival island 1x1 story. I'm thinking of something along the lines of a DR. Monrow Island.
I am an escapee from the asylum where I was being used in experiments, being given various drugs, swapping body parts with various animals (my face has been extremely altered, looking more primate than human at this point.) One night after given a dark looking substance I gained a surge of adrenalin and bashed my way into the surrounding jungle.
As I wake I find myself at the sore with the latest supply boat. You are the only one left, sleeping among dead bodies and open chains of the strongest left to fend themselves out among the island's darkest creatures.
You wake when you hear the snap of the rock breaking your chains. The tear in my misshapen eyI'msays im looking for a friend, not food.

Thanks for reading. It is just a setup idea and if you like to alter it to something more to your liking I am eager to hear.
Hi, Bella, the Stranded story idea sounds like it is tons of action filled fun. I'm kinda new around here though im sure when I get a feel for whats going on I'll be fine. Is it like doing roleplay in IM, where your string a story together with a fellow person, one post at a time?
@Beta thanks for the info. I'm still interested.
I'm interested. Wondering if its a band of teenaged Gods whom discover they're not the only one and form some sort of secret club.
A short mammal with long droopy ears and tail walks into a bare small room with a desk against a long mirror. A microphone sits comfortably on the wooden table. He slowly approaches it, clearing his throat. He seems a little nervous. Must be feeling a little anxious as this is the first time he has approached this particular place.

As it is custom to say hello when you approach a new web house for the first time, this monkey doesn't want to appear rude and start barging into people's games and playrooms before they even know who he is. That is why he ventured into the welcome rooms, that appear in the front of the establishment.

"Hello" he blurts out into the mic.
"Oh that sounds too general!" he thinks to himself, "should I do it again?" comes to his brain right afterward. He decides just to roll with it.

"Hello, fellow members of the role-play guild. I am Art Monkey, I am new around here though I have been roleplaying for many years. Through online games, PMs and other electronic media. I don't really have a favorite genre, for my story is the most important thing. I don't have to win to have a good time. I see role-play as more of a collaborative effort between people to entertain themselves and others through creating an engaging story." He took a moment to clear his throat.

"I am new to role-playing via form post though I'm interested in it. It seems fun and something that I can do on my own time, checking the posts and contributing when I can. I find as I get older, in my 30s now, I find that my time is much more limited than it was when I was a teenager and I'm hoping this can help me scratch my role-playing itch."

A moment passes and he feels a slight satisfaction, seen in how his shoulders drooped to the side in relief.

"Thank you" he quickly adds before standing away from the mic and promptly exiting the room.
