"Hugo Schumacher. Pleased to meet you."

Hugo held out his hand for a handshake.

"I hear you're the person to talk to about getting a dorm room number...?"

The new woman was obviously someone of great importance, if she could tell off the Disciplinary. Was this the headmistress? Hugo figured he would simply have to find out. He gave the new woman a short bow as well.

"Good day. I'm Hugo Schumacher, and I'm new here. You are...?"

Politeness was always the best policy. He also didn't raise his pipe to his lips a single time in the presence of authority, lest it be considered rude in this place.

Hugo gave a short bow to the man and attempted to distract him from the other student's remark.

"Good day, sir."

That would suffice, right?

"That would be wonderful, thank you. I may have missed the correspondence, too, since I was sent on my way as soon as I heard I was admitted."

"Is there anywhere I'll need to sign in to get a room, or do I just walk in and find an empty place?", Hugo inquired. He would follow Ember on the tour to the dormitories the instant she started moving.

Hugo waited a few moments and looked around as well, taking in the environment. "So, shall we continue?"

"Perhaps they use their beaks? Either way, I'm not going to complain as long as they're good at it. I'll have to try the mandarin chicken, then."

He dodged what he thought might have been the setup for a joke of some sort. He was enjoying himself so far, despite all the odd looks he was getting.

"Very carefully?"

Hugo's eyes tried to follow the motion of Ember's wings as she half flew across the grounds. She was far faster than he was, but he kept up nonetheless. Skylar seemed on edge to him, but that was probably just because he was a human, right?

"I'll have to try it out when I get the chance. Anything you especially like there?"

"Oh my. I've never seen a courtyard before. I wondered what they looked like."

Hugo gave a playful smirk to accompany his smartass remark. He was in a groove, keeping his words straight and orderly, and he would likely keep it that way.
