I guess that's pretty cool. Do you learn anything?

<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

No, it's awesome.

Yeah. I’ve been a vigilante reporter all my life, so I’ve just been feeling it out and learning from the examples of others. Not that I didn’t already get really good that way, but now I can refine all my skills with the tricks of the trade.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Anyway, so that's where I've been.

I’ve been busy at university, myself!
<Snipped quote by Balance>

As far as I know, I can make it as big as I want if I charge it long enough. But I think you're looking at it with too small a scope.

I probably am!
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Nah, because the field was already there. Like, think of it as a fabric and all I'm doing is pulling on it in a given direction, kind of like gravity.

So you’re not creating new energy out of nothing? That is, you can’t make spikes bigger than all the energy contained in the whole field?
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Nope. Pretty wacky, huh?

That’s crazy! You aren’t breaking conservation, are you?
<Snipped quote by Balance>

I can do the second, but I can just make the spikes if I want to.

Does it take an equal amount of energy from you to make them?
<Snipped quote by Balance>

So let's take a 2D slice of it—
*A translucent blue field appears in front of us, mostly level with small random fluctuations in height*
Imagine that the X and Y coordinates are your position in space, and Z is the amount of excitation in the electron field. Right now, that's the quantum vacuum—sometimes you get random noise that lines up well enough to create a virtual particle
*Two of the small crests converge temporarily, creating a local point of high excitation before diverging and returning to noise*
And then it poofs away just like that. More or less, I get to decide what the Z axis is going to look like.
*Several large spikes appear on the field*

Do you need to input energy to make those spikes, or can you gather it together from the field, or both?
<Snipped quote by Balance>

The former. I've got fine-grain control over a quantum field right now, which is pretty hype.

That sounds great. Is it like manipulating probabilities of something’s existence or changing energy levels to produce particles, or what?
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Yeah, I have no idea. I'm sure it'll turn off on its own, and then we'll see.

Can you do extra awesome stuff in this form? Or are you in this form because you can do extra awesome stuff?
<Snipped quote by Balance>

I was out training for half a year with First and got rid of the stupid Tertiary Form and replaced it with this.

Can you have it whenever you want? I remember that you only accidentally popped into it when yelling at Kirina really hard.
