Charlie sat on a bench taking a moment to collect her thoughts. On the one hand, she was somewhat grateful. Despite the tragedy that had happened only a month prior, she was only charged with hefty fines for negligence in exchange for agreeing to testify in court when the next trial regarding the potential guilt or innocence of her peers would occur. However, she knew deep down her fellow coworkers were innocent. She was innocent. But, unless she could provide proof of said innocence, the most she could hope for was to try to plea for lesser sentences.

A soft cooing sound emitted from her backpack temporarily interrupting her thoughts.

"Shh, little one." she whispered softly into the bag, "You need to stay quiet, remember? Nobody else can know about you."

The cooing subsided and she let out a sigh of relief. Now she could get back to her thoughts as she waited for whoever had been sent to talk to her about the upcoming trial.

The Backstory:

Lazarus Corporation was a genetics research company that specialized in cloning. One month ago, a B.O.W outbreak in a nearby town resulted in numerous casualties. While the outbreak was contained, hidden files discovered afterwards regarding cloning research involving Umbrella's most notorious mutations resulted in blame falling upon Lazarus Corporation. However, Charlie (My OC), a former employee at Lazarus Corporation believes that her and her fellow researchers have been framed and now seeks to prove their innocence.

This RP takes place in 2025, so, sometime after the events of Village. Since Requiem isn't out yet, we'll just ignore that game for now.

And, now, to provide some more worldbuilding and backstory, here are some of Charlie's research files-

We've managed to create our first successful viral-infected human clone. Prior to this, we attempted to clone animals infected with the T-Virus and Las Plagas. To say they were unsuccessful would be an understatement as the clones were too unstable and perished before any real research could be done on them. Our first clone patient is a young Caucasian male by the name of Steve Burnside. Prior files state that Burnside had fallen victim to the T-Veronica virus over two decades prior and succumed to fatal injuries afterwards. The patient appears to have adapted to the virus (something noted in Lady Ashford's files) allowing him some semblance of self control. Of course, him being a hormonal teenager even after all these years has resulted in unwitting transformation into what my fellow researchers call "a mix between The Hulk and a Ninja Turtle" when under emotional duress. A comparison that, while blunt, is fitting.

Burnside has shown interest in a woman by the name of Claire Redfield. Apparently, they had met sometime in the past and he had developed something of a crush on her. While I was able to confirm that she was alive and well, he was disappointed when I told him that he would be unable to reunite with her due to his existence needed to be kept a secret for the time being. That being said, perhaps, someday, I may see if I can pull some strings with the higher ups and have her pay a visit.

Birkin was our second attempt to clone another viral-infected being. And, while a success, lead to more discoveries than with had occurred with Mr. Burnside. Initially, Birkin was considered a failure as his cognitive function had yet to develop and his behavior was more akin to an instinctive beast rather than anything remotely human. Over the next few weeks, however, his brain function returned to normal and was able to communicate effectively with other staff and myself. He was able to control his mutated forms and shift between them at will though seems to prefer his initial human appearance. Birkin has also displayed interest in our work and I've even allowed him to join me in the lab to assist in my research. While I am aware that he's a patient and my feelings shouldn't get in the way of my research, I must admit I find myself growing fond of him. Though, knowing he is a widow, I am uncertain if he has any interest in any pursuit of finding a partner.

Three weeks after, Birkin began displaying unusual behaviors. His appetite increased drastically and he became increasingly agitated and emotional. In a relatively short amount of time, his body weight had doubled. After some tests, it was revealed that the G-Virus within Birkin had mutated allowing him the ability to reproduce without the need to implant others. After another four weeks, Birkin entered a trance-like state and shifted into his fifth blob-like form upon which miniature versions of said blob form emerged from an abdominal pouch similar to those found on seahorses. I've dubbed these creatures Golgotha Larva (or G-Blobs for shot). They're actually kinda cute once you get past all the teeth and tentacles. Birkin appears to be fiercely protective of his new young keeping them close to him as he continues to aid in my research. I'm admittedly thankful that he trusts me enough to look after the little blobs as well.

I don't know how this happened. One moment, I remember going over some research notes. The next, the entire facility was under attack by B.O.W.s . If that wasn't bad enough, we've been put under fire for the outbreak. It wasn't us, I swear. Our research was to help people, not to create more bioweapons. Someone else is behind this but I don't know who or why.

The only saving grace so far is that the clones made it out safely. However, I am unaware of their current whereabouts. All I know is that, prior to our escape, I told them to keep a low profile since their existence needed to be kept a secret. I just hope they're still ok and that I can reunite with them soon.

And, now, the rules-

1. Yes, you can play as more than one character. Just let me know in the replies who you would like to play as.
2. Romance is allowed. Just remember to keep it consensual and legal/moral. 
3. Yes, Fancharacters/OCs/Self-Inserts are allowed. Just keep them reasonable, please. If you're not sure, feel free to reply to this thread with a character sheet of your OC for review.
4. No taking control of other people's characters without permission. If a player is unavailable for whatever reason, please be patient and wait for them to return. If a player decides to drop out of the RP for whatever reason, they can have whichever characters they were playing as be available for someone else to use if they so choose to do so.
5. Since this is a Resident Evil RP, there is going to be some degree of violence and horror. Just, please, don't go overboard. It's possible to write about someone getting attacked by a zombie without having to post several paragraphs of explicit gore.
6. No killing off other player's characters without permission. That's just rude.
7. No hijacking. Starting subplots is fine, but don't jump in and derail a storyline other players have established. If you're not sure if the GM (me) or other players have story plans regarding their characters, feel free to PM for confirmation. That being said, I don't have a strict plotline in mind, so, if you have any suggestions for plot ideas, feel free to PM me.
