Consider this a placeholder until I come up with a punchy, pithy status.

What was amazing about the story? Wasn't it just 'defeat generic evil king' with all the exciting plot twists of 'No, I am your father!' and 'No, I am your half-brother' or 'No, the dragons are not all dead!'?

@McHaggis
As someone who is actually 6'4'' (I think that's 198cm) the main problem is that your legs just start to hurt from not be able to straighten after a couple of hours.

That's the song now stuck in my head and the one I will inevitably listen to in the next ten minutes.

LET'S GO OUTSIDE THEN, 1V1 ME BRUH!

Seriously though, they were god-awful and everyone reading them knew it. I'm not saying they weren't fun to read but it was like reading fanfiction that makes your eyes bleed or watching a show so nonsensical that it's sort of brilliant. Hatewatching and Hatereading are two of my favourite activities, in case you haven't guessed.

@McHaggis
I'm not sure how it will play out but I'm now seeing Andy deliberately broadcasting an irritatingly catchy song (Aqua's Barbie Girl, for example) to annoy Jay.

@Write
I mentioned it in my relationship thingy for her, is that cool?
@McHaggis
There's a fairly awful series of fantasy books that start with Eragon where they have mind battles and the idea is that to defend yourself, you have to present a potential invader with a solid wall of something. A thought, a memory, something that you focus your conscious thought on so they can only see that. People who are serious about it in the books learned how to put up a wall by mentally reciting a poem or replaying a memory even while they were fighting or talking or whatever. As much as I thought the books were derivative and terrible (I still read all four of them, two of which were near 1000 pages), I did like bits of the magic system and that was one of them. Something similar is mentioned the second Knights of the Old Republic game.

It's basically what Andy will try if/when he works out what Jay is doing; feeding him mental static by mentally singing a song to shield his thoughts.

You can certainly submit a sheet to the GMs without a Dramatis Personae, especially if your Legion and Primarch aren't going to be in the picture for a while. But I look forward to seeing the sheet, don't forget to send it in a convo to both me and BCTheEntity.
@McHaggis
I know we've discussed this sort of thing a little already but how do you think one would go about blocking Jay from reading one's thoughts?
I actually haven't read many 40k novels outside of the Horus Heresy but The Siege of Castellax was a lot of fun. Iron Warriors trying to out-strategy orks, only to find that Orks don't need stupid strategy and can WAAAGH their way through most plans.

And of course, Deff Skwadron always deserves a mention for its unrivalled, glorious Orkishness.
@Hank
False Gods, I think.
@Hank
Rising is good, it's a shame that Graham McNeil (who can do good HH books, see Fulgrim, Thousand Sons and Mechanicus) botched the corruption of Horus so badly in the following book and the characters were almost unrecognisable in the third book, by Ben Counter.
@Thundercrash
Okay, here's what I propose; write up as much as you feel you can and then send the result to BC and me. We'll treat it like any other sheet but in the early IC posts, we'll mention that your Primarch is engaged in a campaign on the far side of the galaxy and so will not be present for the events of the first real life few weeks of the IC, which is a bummer but at least you'll be established as part of the universe. When you have free time again, you can tell us and your Primarch can turn up having successfully (or unsuccessfully) dealt with whatever held them and can join the action.

The alternative is that you simply wait the two weeks before joining but that will probably require much more retconning to make your character a part of the group.

What do you think?
