Bio

I am a Roleplayer with an interest in science fiction and fantasy, with a preference for Casual. I have been roleplaying for several years, and have even taken a stab at running a few RPs.

Outside the Guild, I am an Australian science student, gamer, musician and roleplayer (that's right, IRL too).

Lazy demon for the win.

I can't imagine that the Master will be pleased with your unannounced intrusion.

@KabenSaal, I am assuming this is your Empyrean which you gave to Torrens.
Torrens' face turned to a disappointed frown when he was told that he was not to burn anything. This would be the second time he had been sent on a mission and not been allowed to utilise the full extent of his abilities. However, if all did go well there would be fire of great strength. He did not fear the Muspelheim, for he was certain that no fire which produced heat or burned, however magical or exotic, could do him anything other than good. He did not worry about the Kitsune. There may be a great feast if he followed Emily, although in the long run it would do little benefit for that mission would be spent doing nothing and being unproductive, again.

Torrens rubbed his chin in deep thought, then asked, "So how are you summoning this Kitsune? Another massive rune, I suppose. If so, how do you plan on drawing it this time? Last time the village was completely distracted by the pillaging and raiders, but this time there are no such distractions. I doubt they'll just let you draw a massive rune across the entire village. And since you want everything intact the obvious option of me going in and setting things on fire and sowing panic is out. Did you have any plans?"

Torrens had decided that if he could be any use to Emily, then he would go with her. However, if it turned out that he would be doing nothing more than leeching off the spoils, he resolved that he would hold out for a proper mission, such as a raid, where he could prove his usefulness. Not that feasting on fires of great strength wasn't great and all, but he needed to think more long term. He had no hope of being granted things like soulflame if he gained a reputation of being lazy.

((Recall that news of Athinar's upcoming raid came after Emily's assignment))
Everybody not on one of the others. So Azavarn, Darkwraith Kor, Shukra, Umbra, Narza. I think that's all of them. Yappo and Wold would go too if either of them ever post IC

Edit: if @BBeast wants Torrens could go there instead. When I sent him with Emily I didn't realize that she wasn't going to burn the village. She probably won't need much of Torrens' help, but he could still go along to the ritual for the fire I guess.

Tricky choice for Torrens. Feast on fires of great power- gaining a temporary boost in power, or have fun raiding a town and actually putting his abilities to use- increasing his standing among the other minions? I think I will choose the raid, provided Emily confirms that she has no use for Torrens on her mission.
interesting question: whose characters have quantifiable souls?

I suppose Torrens has a soul, somewhere, although it is intrinsically embedded within his body. In any case, any even partially successful effort to extract it will almost certainly result in violent spontaneous combustion.

Ah, but you forget that Edict has studied demons and therefore would know at least somewhat about Torren. You don't think he has dealt with that kind of fire before? He's not just going to instantly combust and that's the end of him.

Torrens is pretty unique, although Edict could probably tie together enough knowledge about demons and fire elementals to formulate an approximate (yet mostly adequate) picture of him. I agree- Edict almost certainly has strategies for, if not countering, then at least minimising the harm of copious quantities of fire, but his anti-magic stuff won't help him do it.
Nothing much was happening in or near the Forge, save for the imps digging a new room into the stone wall, so when Emily passed in front of the entrance to the chamber his gaze automatically shifted to her. When Emily mentioned that he was to go out on an expedition, he leaped to his feet and bounded over to a safe following distance, obviously excited to have something to do. He rubbed his hands together and said, "Excellent! I was hoping to find use for my energy before I lose it. Where are we going? More importantly, what do I get to burn?"

In his mind he remembered that this was the girl who could draw runes and had pyromancy and spirits and stuff. So, as far as he could tell, it was very likely that something was going to burn, and a lot.
@Elitestpotato, And I'd like to say that Torrens by default outputs fire as ordinary fire, unless he wills it otherwise, which obeys standard physics and carries ordinary thermal energy. So Edict may be resistant to fire balls or fire bolts or flame shields or the like (since the only way those would hold shape is by magic), but if Torrens just unleashes an inferno Edict's going to roast.

How would Empyrean work against the anti-magic shield? The flame burns both inside a person and outside at the same time. So, would it burn the arm holding the shield at the same time as the shield itself?

In my opinion, the Empyrean (set to instant incineration) would burn either just the shield, or all of him, depending on the intensity.
@Elitestpotato, that looks like a pretty good hero. *Incinerates Edict with ordinary fire at first sight* But seriously, good hero.
I can imagine that Athinar's leadership in the next raid will go perfectly fine until the moment someone starts bleeding, at which point Athinar will be thrown into his usual fit of violence, break ranks and abandon all plans made beforehand in favour of an all-out bloodbath. An action which most of the rest of the minions will happily follow.
I agree. We're all still here. As for the other RP, while it uses the same (or similar) system it is still very different. Take, for instance, real world Tabletop RPs. There are many, many D&D games running at the same time, yet they don't decide to quit just because someone else is running another D&D game. They all use the same system. But, what distinguishes each of them is that the settings and stories are all different. Same here. I like this one. Let's keep going.
