"Always worked in the past." Lydia mumbled, shutting down more. The usual bright gleam in her eyes had dimmed as she avoided eye contact with them. "It's just...after all this time I finally get a friend only to fuck it up."
"I've tried, Barbara! I even tried helping Lawrence with his money problems by talking with the life sized Ken doll but...it didn't work out..." She sighed, curling up into a ball.
"I didn't want to tell you but...she tried paying me to dump you when we were dating before. I obviously refused her offer no matter how many times she upped the price. She wanted you to suffer so much she tried bribing me." They admitted.
"Yeah? And how do you suppose I change that? I've been messed up since my mom died and my dad remarried." Lydia said bitterly as she looked away from them.
Lydia slammed the door open, some of her rage gone but still fueling her. She sighed before sinking to her knees. "Dad was right...I do push people away." She whispered as she closed her eyes. None of this would have happened if her mother was still alive, well, undead.
"You're welcome, darling. I couldn't let her control you anymore. While I do like you a little well groomed, she took it too far." Ash smiled before gently placing a hand on his. "It's over now, we don't have to worry about her anymore."
"ARRRRGH!" Lydia exclaimed before heading to the attic, throwing things around in her rage. Why did she unintentionally fuck things up without meaning to? She wanted to help the only friend she had.
It was a nice restaurant in the Netherworld which an unique menu. Thanks to Ash scheduling for their date, they didn't have to wait long for their table. "Isn't this lovely? Dinner by candlelight."
