@Wick yeah I know. Like I said, Kat is just taking out frustrations on whoever is in her sight at the moment. She doesn't really care that Ethan is ignoring her. There is no romance between them. She cares that he seems to be ignoring Grace. After her own father ignored her and never showed her any kind of fatherly love she is determined that Grace will not go through life wanting her father's attention and feeling it's her fault for not getting it. Ethan has got a lot to prove.

Speak of the Devil and he shall appear. No sooner had she finished speaking did Daddy of the Year himself walk up and actually hold his child. Showing interest in her now are we, was on the tip of Kat's tongue but 'Buffy' appeared moments later. She handed Kat gold. Well, it might as well have been gold.
Orajel! "Thank whatever god that's still listening," Kat said gratefully. It wasn't Baby Orajel but it was close enough.
Before anyone could really react 'Buffy' was off barking orders at everyone. Apparently she was now First Lady of their company. Kat raised an eyebrow. Oh this was going to get old VERY fast...
Kat felt more comfortable around Jason than Ethan at the moment so she really didn't like Nikki ordering him around. She doubted a military man like Jason would like it either. She gave a pointed look at Ethan that said 'control your trophy wife' but Ethan was doing his best to ignore her, probably because he knew what look he would be facing if he made eye contact with her.
Kat took Grace from him, not forcefully but in a gentle way. She had meant what she said. Even though he was showing less then no interest in her Kat was not going to keep his child from him for the few moments he seemed to remember he had one.
Putting some of the gel on her finger, she rubbed the inside of the suffering baby's mouth. Tears ran like water works down her little cheeks as she whimpered.
"That feels better doesn't it sweet love?" Kat soothed her. Grace, tired from the pain and crying, laid her head on her mommy's shoulder and closed her eyes. She likely wasn't going to sleep with all of the noise around her, but she was at least resting.
"By the way, just so you are aware, one of the little rats that lives here was threatening Grace and me because she was crying, saying he was going to get us kicked out," Kat informed Ethan, "in case you wanted to know what was going on with your daughter. Jason has been watching out for us."
Okay so that had been a slam, but it was meant to be one. Jason, a man who was not related to them in the slightest, was showing more interest and concern for Grace than her own father. Kat wanted Ethan to start manning up. At the moment his girlfriend was wearing the pants more than he was.

"I know what Mailyn taught all of us," Arys told Ariyah sternly. "That all mermen are savage brutes. They are to be feared," she said her eyes darting back to the one who called himself 'Link'. They had names?
Arys looked at her sister, bewildered. "Promised protection? At what cost? They only know how to do things for their own gain," she insisted. "Whatever they told you, it was a lie. Look at me sister, blood of my blood. You trust a monster over me?" she asked pleadingly, dreading the response.
If these 'shellborn' mermen knew they were there then there was more to fear. They would have to leave, forced from their home by opposing sides that wanted to destroy each other.
But they couldn't leave... the turtles... the reef... it needed them. Everything in the surrounding waters needed the mermaids help to nurture and care for them.
"They can't force us from our home. Not again," she said, determined that the past would not repeat itself. Ariyah had not been reborn as a mermaid when the last conflict had occurred. When Arys had made her terrible mistake...

They went out to the river where she was spotted only to discover that not only was she barely breathing but was in fact a mommy with a 2-3 week old baby beside her! They got both her and baby back to the rehabilitation area at Sea World. I've been checking on her every day after work since they arrived.
They put mommy in a kind of 'manatee life vest' to keep her floating upright while they tried to find out what was wrong with her. She was barely eating on Tues. Turns out she had an air pocket near her lungs, probably caused by a boat collision. They treated her and today when I went to see her she was swimming without the aid of the vest and was eating well. Baby is a healthy active boy and Sea World hopes to release her and baby back to the river they were found in as soon as the state dept gives the okay!
This is why I LOVE working at Sea World!!
