... This could actually be interesting, if played out right.
(The reason I use the word "actually" is because I usually only play Epic Fantasy Adventures and/or Science-Fiction Stuff.)
I have a character in mind for this already, though, whom is actually based on a person I know and who helped me a great deal through my teenage years.
I have written out a basic character idea, but it's a bit messy and does most definately not portray my skills in terms of writing. I just wrote things down as they came to me. In this box. I didn't have my spell-checker from my usual writing program. Sorry.
His name is Zinovy Jiang, but he tells people to just call him Zita (Zee-tah). His first name is Russian, his surname is Chinese.
He was born and raised in Kyrgyzstan, along with his seven sisters. They were rather poor, but not on the verge of starving. They were fed every day and went to school; getting their public education. They were raised to follow Islam as their religion, although Zinovy never really did agree with the Islam ways of doing things.
During Zinovy's teen years, his father managed to start up a quite successful business, which eventually ended with him getting a high-end job in the oil industry.
After having lived their childhoods as the poor kids, Zinovy and his sisters were now the rich kids. And boy, were they rich. It was not long before they had a palace-like mansion to live in and got everything they had ever desired.
As soon as Zinovy finished school, his father sent him off to the university for him to learn some business. Zinovy merely did as he was told and went back to school again. He never was more than an average student at best, but he was not stupid. HIs people skills were great and he just had this thing about him.
He finished school with two degrees at the age of twenty-five.
Once he was done with school, his father wanted him to come work with him, which Zinovy attempted to decline; he never did want a desk job. His father was very insistent, though, and Zinovy was left without choice. He worked with his father for no more than two years before he could not take it any more and fled.
He moved to America (or whereever this takes place) and for the first time in his life, he had to take care of himself. He got a job as a bartender at a small dive bar and a one-room apartment on top of it. He got some tattoos; a whole lot of them, in fact, with both his forearms covered in ink and his entire back as a colorful canvas. He got a haircut, shaving the sides of his head in a mohawk, and dyed the remains green.
All in all, he was embracing himself.
The one part of himself he just could not embrace, though, was his sexuality. All of his life he had been taught that life was all about getting himself a wife and having her pop out some kids. Despite throwing off the reigns of his father, he still loved his parents dearly and still praticed the religion he was raised with; even if he did not pratice it as much as he was supposed to.
The same year that he turned thirty, he got the first call from home he had gotten since he had moved away. It was his oldest sister. She informed him of their father's death and that both the company and half his fortune had been left to Zinovy. Obviously, he was flabberghasted. He took the first plane he could back home and as soon as he was there, he was a busy man. He hired someone with the appropriate skills to care for the company. He made sure his mother was all right, which he found out that she was, as she had inherited tha entire other half of his father's fortune. He took care of eveything for the funeral and attended it, as well.
Once he was done with all this, he went back to his one-room apartment on top of the dive bar.
Now, he is thirty-two. He is riddled with guilt after his father's death and the fact that he may not have died, he Zinovy taken over like it was planned and the fact that he had not seen, or even spoken to, the man for three years prior to his death. He is still stuggling with his sudden wealth, even if he has had it for a couple of years now. He spends a weekend each month in his homeland, caring for the company. And to top it all off, he is stuggling with his sexuality, along with his religion and all of his general personal problems, as well.
Phisiological Details:
Zinovy is olive-skinned, like one from the middle east.
Despite his skin-color, he has asian facial features.
He is very tall; around 7 feet.
He is very skinny and lanky in build.
His hair is originally black, but he bleaches it and dyes it all the colors of the rainbow.
His forearms are covered by "tattoo sleeves" with images of important parts of his life inked into the skin for all eternity.
His back is covered in tattoos, as well; it is a canvas of color with no appearent cause.
He wears weird punk-esque clothing.
